Had one for 5 years and 155k miles. Made 300whp with a bigfer turbo etc. Loved every second. Very reliable
Bought a new 2017 one back in March for a lil over $16K. I have never been happier or prouder of a purchase.
I know 200hp isn't 'fast', but I'm currently driving a 155hp Mazda 3 manual that weighs in at a solid 200lbs heavier than the Fiesta, so it's still gonna be a decent step up for me. Plus I can take out a muffler or cat and be extra roudy. The idling skyactiv engine sounds like it has a bag of rocks in the pan.
does your '17 ST have the Recaros? i'm trying to decide if they're worth it or not. Plus, i'm kind of a big guy at 6'2', 255. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

@@turbogeoduck1 I may be a little too late since your comment was posted over 2 months ago, but I got a chance to sit in both the regular seats and the Recaros and personally I thought the Recaros were too agressive for daily driving. The regular seats are much more comfortabl, at least in my opinion. The only drawback would be that you dont get a heated seat option without the recaros, but in California that isnt really a problem.
@@turbogeoduck1 I test drove both with and without the Recaros and I bought a used 2017 without them. I think they would be great for someone slightly smaller than me, but for anyone above the 6' mark or slightly overweight they are a bit uncomfortable.

I'm glad you like it, I do, as a matter of fact I have the exact same car, same color, same wheel and caliper colors, same seats. I have a 16 and after 2 years still love it just as much as the test drive. And things like oak spacers (for heel toe) and short throw shifters and all kinds of mods are relatively inexpensive and plentiful. Nice video guys
I have the 2014 ST and I love it, it has 55,000 miles and I’m on my 4th set of tires, that’s how much I love it. Great fuel economy and handle like a go kart. I just put a set of Mitchlen Sport Pilot A/S 3+ and there the best tires I’ve ever had.
What tires have you tried previously? I had the non plus version and I wasn't too impressed. They were alright.

Because I drive hard in turns, and actually I’m on my 6th now, at 98,800. I have them rotated every 5,000 miles. I have the Pilot Sport Michelin A/S 4’s, I had two sets of the A/S 3+, there warranty was 45,000 miles and I wear them out at 20,000+ so the pro rate them so get the next set for $480 it’s a deal, they grip so good, and there smooth riding and quiet and never track on freeway grooves. Highly recommend these tires. The Fiesta Flash 🤙🏼🍺🍺
Traded the Ford Raptor in for a Ford Fiesta ST.. DEFINITELY an upgrade.
The Raptors are so over rated and actually the ratings are starting so show its not that great as they have been out for a while . The Fiesta ST is really under rated but are not gaining the credit they deserve

The Fiesta will be available until May 2019. There will be 2019 models, because Ford can still sell lots of them in Central/South America. They're even doing an "ST Line," like in Europe, where hot hatches are popular, that looks a lot like an ST, but has the standard engine/transmissions/brakes/suspension.

New Euro ST gives you true drive modes that increase throttle and exhaust tone in sport mode more so in track...or economy it shuts down a cylinder to get over 40 mpg....performance package $1500ish quaife limited slip dif and launch control button...I bought a 2018 it's great but would've certainly bought the euro version instead

Just Me, I agree; TFL generally does a pretty good job but is starting to fall into the clickbait trap more and more IMO. I know channels like this live by clicks and with the current UA-cam algorithm, it makes it tough but it still doesn’t feel right and honorable when I see it.

There is another agenda at play here. Ford is not the only car maker quietly doing away with the manual transmission. They are also doing away with the normal automatic transmissions and are all going to these new garbage CVT monstrosities that are nothing but a $4000 rubber belt that wears out around 30K-100K miles so you have to either buy another transmission or buy another crap car. Planned obsolescense all under the fake premise of "govt mandated fuel econonmy" . HOGWASH! That has NOTHING to do with it! They could make the normal style vehicles get 80 mpg if they wanted to but they are in cahootz with Big Oil so they must scratch each other's backs. This whole CVT thing is also so the govt can control our cars remotely due to them being run off some kind of programmable computer disc. More govt CONTROL is what it all boils down to and every time the govt sticks their big long hook nose into our business......we get a good screwing and nothing ever is the same again.
One of the worst places in the United States to speed test a car. Easily a six second (and a few tenths) 0-60 car. Would love to see what a tune would do.
It makes 197 crank with overboost on 03 octane what fuel was in this?. I got mine to 6.5 completely stick at sea level

It's all about useable power
It doesn’t understeer because it has a torque vectoring diff. It does send power to both front wheels when needed.
That Fiesta is impressive. Will need to have some serious challenger since an underdog has no chance of competing against that home advantage. That being said, would love to see my car go up against the ST. Here in Canada (if both brand new), it actually cost $7K less then the ST.
Hope you guys manage to find a 2017 Civic LX 6MT (would need summer rubber to not get embarrassed). Probably the only less expensive car in production that can challenge the ST.

I don't know why they never made these in an AWD platform. That is probably why Subaru had the advantage with these types of cars.
Subaru's are way bigger though, more in the line of a Focus, and that does have an AWD platform

728 Autos I just figured they would've sold better if they made them AWD. Especially in states with snow. I've never understood why American manufacturers let Subaru corner the market on that. I'm an F150 and V8 Mustang guy but I do talk to a lot of people at auto meets. A lot of them with a Subaru or AWD Mitsubishi said that they loved the ST because it was light and fast, but the AWD swayed them elsewhere.
Metalbass79 adding AWD to something isn't going to make it sell better. The market numbers show this. Sure it might tickle the fancy of us enthusiast but we are but a small niche and niche products aren't going to be money makers for Ford.

in 1970 Ford made a 1600cc 4cyl 16valve WITHOUT a turbo and called it the Escort RS1600, with just 120bhp that did 0-60 in the same time as this 1600 turbo 2018 car with 200bhp ! progress!!??
Im sure that car was a lot lighter also so power to weight ratio was much better in the old ford.

Idk why but the tires close up looked like the tires had waves n stuff in the sidewalls by the treads .like the tires got pushed too hard and crinkled or stretched..weird

2019 US. It has no oh shit handles and has no hanger hooks. Be wary of the transmission sometimes it sticks. When you push the start button sometimes it doesn't start for 10 seconds or so. Only the driver's window has express up-and-down. Sunroof only has express open not close. Engine makes non rpm noise. Finger controls such as blinkers and wipers could be more ergonomic designed. 1/2 moon storage below A/C useless anything will fall out. Hard to see traffic out right rear window corner even with rear headrests collapsed. ST should be fully loaded. Mine came without heated seats. However, seats are durable cloth unlike cold leather needing heat. Having said all that I dig the car white on black..
South Africa won't be getting the new ST either :(

In a straight line I beat one the other day in my 06 4Runner v6. Wasn’t that long of a race only lasted about 10 seconds. He had the jump on me but I started pulling away before he could pass me. I think it was slightly modded. You could hear the blow off valve. Super nice guy too. I threw a Shaka and he revved as we split. Wouldn’t doubt he’d beat me in everything else lol

I auto cross a 2017 fiesta st. those tires are terrible once they heat up. and the wilwood big brake kit weighs less than the stock set up.
also the 0-60 doesn't reflect how fast the car is. you don't get full boost in first gear and you have to shift to hit 60mph. also the tune-ability of the car and after market support is amazing. i recommend the car if you are into small quick cars. there is nothing that compares to the deal this thing is.

Honda and Toyota has great car sales. The problem with Ford is the quality of the cars they are selling. I bought a regular Ford fiesta as a commuter and it was nothing but junk, the transmission was constantly slipping, multiple electrical issues, and the dealer didn't want to warranty some of the issue while the car had less than 5000 miles on it.
Well, folks are buying Ford's most iconic models, the F-series trucks (71 years, over 40 million sold) and the Mustang (54 years, over 9 million sold). Both outsell the competition, so Ford gives them more love. Fusion & Flex are recommended buys from Consumer Reports. I'm surprised they didn't get rid of the Focus, which has similar problems to the Fiesta.

Blastez YT yes there is a 2018 but there won't be a 2019. In Europe they have the new one for 2018 while in the US it stayed the same as the 2017 for it's last year here.

you guys obviously don't know what you're doing on the 0-60 runs.my 2014 focus with 160 odd h.p stock could do it in 7.5 seconds. it's a much larger car with less h.p...even when u factor in altitude, your numbers just don't compute.

We do not understand ..... if the Ford factory ... they have this great exterior design ... little air resistance .... little fuel consumption ..... so why not have this introduction .... and design for each Ford Models .... For example ... Ford Explorer

I have a 2016 Focus ST with 108000 all stock. Surprisingly Ford drew my attention and proved me wrong. Only thing that sucks is that the interior quality consist of hard plastic but as far as performance, a true bang for buck.
200 hp is actually a lot! My Speed3 only has 70 more and it is too fast for me!
this car probably has the same if not better power to weight ratio which is all that matters. the speed3 is too over priced even used cost more than a fiST
Here you can get a used Mazda speed 3 cheaper than a used Fiesta ST I believe, I almost got one but the crazy torque steer and unruly nature kind of scared me away from it, I haven't driven one though. Some people say it's not that bad, others say it's a bit nuts.

I used to drive a boring ass corolla then I trade it in for a fun drive fiesta st 2016 I just love it but at the same time I get a lot of hate specially from black ppl they always try to race me even though that some of them own a Camaros or charger which is different league they think I'm driving a Ferrari and not only that some of them with Impalas always cut me in traffic then staring at me then they do it again in purpuse none of this happen to me when I have mine basic model corolla. ( I'm not racist ) this my experience with my baby ST

They're a mile above sea level. Air isn't as thick there. At sea level it's more around 7 seconds. for a 1.6 liter that's more than respectable. That's only a half second slower than the supercharged 3.8 liter in the grand prix GTP for a difference of 2.2 liters, both forced induction.

Those tires are trashed. Car stops on a dime. The power drops before 5,000 rpm. You dont redline in this car. The pedal are close haha do u have midget feet. You weren't driving fast. Didn't see the tire lift once
