A diorama of a T54/55 in a modern day scene, dug in and used as artillery with some interesting modern equipment around, maybe a shot out drone crashed nearby would be pretty cool
Probably it's a bit to early to build a scene from "all we know where". And that T55 would be completly covered under the camouflage out of vegetation, camo tarps and God knows what more. Not to mention the cope cages, cope wire nets, or anti drone "field garages" maded out of nets...
this is perfect! i was thinking about converting a takom 1/35th scale STuG 3F into the famous "Disco Panzer" and this diorama setup is perfect help! thanks uncle!
Another nightshift video! Let’s gooooooooooooooooooooooo. The fact I saw the notification of this new video while building a Tamiya Sherman is just perfect:)
Just want you to know....I'm a lady in southern Texas,USA who does not make much...im just not that crafty....BUT I ❤❤❤ watching those of you who do! Your very funny especially when you laugh at some of your jokes ....I love ur older bloopers...it just makes you very charming! I watch & subscribed to your channel and I just wanted you to know that there's a lady far away who thinks the world of you! I say this all with respect, to you & the lady in your life. Thanks for the videos
Hi Night Shift! I'm probably gonna get swallowed by the hoard of other comments on here but I'll try my best: I've been watching your videos for a decent while and recently I found myself wanting to get back into this kind of stuff, but its hard because I dont know where to start and what to do! I know this sounds dumb but you should make a detailed long-form video on what a beginner, such as myself, would have to do/buy to start the diorama/model journey.
Wow !!! Awesome !!! It's seems to be so simple and easy with you !! Tank you so much for yours vidéos. It's always à pleasure ! Keep going ma friend !!👍👏👏👏 you're the Best !!!
Amazing work! This build reminds me of the real life APC which had the words "Free-Wifi" painted on the side while being covered totally using wood as a buffer. I hope one day someone can make a diorama of that one as well
Firstly, sincerest condolences, Martin on your recent sad news. Absolutely superb detailing. Btw, I have the same Proxxon Wire Cutter. I also made a rotary jig, which I use for vac-forming parts. Love the VMS Smart Mud as well. I have half-a-dozen pots. I had the Puma kit, but it never really appealed to me - but you make any subject just pop and then spice things up by your pure attention to detail. Since
speaking as a old OG fan from your earlier days, i can say that your work just continues to impress me and inspire me! i love these dioramas you make and they just keep getting better and better! keep it up man!
I haven’t watched one of your tuts for a while, so binge watching today. This has totally blown me away….your modern era vehicles with pallets, bedsteads, wire etc are stunning….and no, there isn’t anything wrong with you at all!😂😂😂😂
I love these vignettes/dioramas set in artificial settings. I hope some day I'll see you make a model of a vehicle parked alongside a church, perhaps with some intricate marble reliefs made with a 3D printer, and tinted glass.
Love this!! I have been so scared of airbrushing my diorama material typically sticking to the colors in the grass/rocks/dirt I lay down. You have made me reconsider my approach to creating a more uniformed landscape. I hope it works!
I'm building a base for a "barn find" 1954 Chevy in 1/25 scale and will buy some cork sheeting and acrylic thin putty to try your method - thanks for the video!
The first time I saw you make one of your scene bases I was thinking “dam, that looks pretty good” then u painted the whole thing dark brown and that threw me off some much. In the end though it always looks better
I am a simple man. I like what you do when you just pinished cutting and priming the cork and would be more then happy. To me it looked good. And rthen you add this and that 20+ layers and steps. and it looks better after each of them. Because im not aware of what can be done with all these layers, as im a simple man.
Simple but awesome base. Handy trick: If you just add a few of drops of dishwashing liquid to the diluted PVA glue, you won't need to use IPA to break the water tension.
DAMN!!!!! This looks so good its amazing! You are quickly becoming my favourite youtube channel and i dont even do military stuff. Your high quality videos, incredible paintjobs and ultra friendly voice over is just the perfect watch!
The cork is a fantastic technique! I was wondering how to make cracks in an asphalt road for a current project and this should work well, just make the top surface smoother than your concrete. Many thanks!
For the ground of my dioramas i need old coffeepowder (first i drink a good coffee 😅), woodglue and water. Mix it together and ready is my dark ground. Regards from Austria 🇦🇹.
"Simple" hahaha, it would take me a year to paint all that stuff individually. Amazing work! Although I gotta say, your vids are a real inspiration, they made me try doing the individual stone highlighting on a tiny scenic display. It payed off.
Your builds are always mind blowing! When are you going to make a miniature gaming table and just completely blow up the internet!? Let's see some Bolt Action!
Your diorama bases are really nice and compliment the vehicles placed on them. Would very much like to see you do a WWII Japanese fighter plane with all the chipping and weathering they are known for.
It is breathtaking! Although sometimes that I feel the highlights are a little bit over exacturated. But it sure bring out much more interest. And after all, aren't we looking for more interesting things?
Great looking diorama! I think I’m going to use the cork technique in a 1/24 desert application and just build up layers on top. Thanks for the inspiration! 👍
Awesome as always! I was thinking of doing a similarly simple base of a busted road with a bit of grass next to it for my T-55 to sit on, and since it's a fictional eastern European world, I thought I would take some inspiration from places like Ukraine and grab a light blue corrugated fence that's a bit rusted and abused in the background to add some contrast and fun detail. Might be a little ambitious for a first time at a base, but it could be fun.
Funny. This reminds me of the german urban training area that my unit used to go to. It was deaigned before WW2 by the german army and hitler haf the entire town moved and the buildings were used sincefor MOUT. We used them in late 93/early 94 because my battalion was going to Macedonia and we needed the LIC training(low intensity combat). Yes. It sucked. So many limitations. But still fun. We watched German infantry with the Marder do training and it was pretty funny to watch. We ended up training our german suater battalion. At the time, they didn't train as much as us so every chance they could train with us, they took it. I have a hikarious story of a German armor battalion going thru a 30 day gunnery rotation at Graf with us. Letd just say they were not used to 30 days of field work. Lol
If you're looking for a very unique wartime diorama to do, I'd suggest looking up the Emu war. Essentially after the war a bunch on returned servicemen took it upon themselves to use their surplus hardware to try and cull a heap of Emus. And..... lost. Its kind of a running joke in Australia that we lost a war to a group of flightless birds.
Great work! Your detailing always adds visual interest and helps tie in the elements. Not a big fan of the palette choice on this one, very stark and washed out. Still, always appreciate the time and effort you put into bringing us these videos and helping us make better models. Thanks! 👍
A diorama of a T54/55 in a modern day scene, dug in and used as artillery with some interesting modern equipment around, maybe a shot out drone crashed nearby would be pretty cool
Or situated somewhere in Yugoslavia, with a large "Enjoy SaraJevo" mural in the background :)
@@NightShiftScaleModels that be wonderful
@@NightShiftScaleModels a croatian t54 in a small coastal town in streets it barely fits in like from the photos would be very cool
Or a drone flying above it ready to drop a grenade through an open hatch.
Probably it's a bit to early to build a scene from "all we know where". And that T55 would be completly covered under the camouflage out of vegetation, camo tarps and God knows what more. Not to mention the cope cages, cope wire nets, or anti drone "field garages" maded out of nets...
Honestly, the dioramas are my favorite videos on the channel
this is perfect! i was thinking about converting a takom 1/35th scale STuG 3F into the famous "Disco Panzer" and this diorama setup is perfect help! thanks uncle!
It's amazing how the tank and landscape got together perfectly, so well done!!!

Cool. 🙂👍

The Maschinen Krieger diorama was *AWESOME!* I'd love to see him do a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. diorama!!!
Ridiculously good, looks like a tank from the Congo or something.

Your work on the New Puma is simply awesome with the way you've added the Wooden pallets, also the modern plastic Barrels.
Without doubt the top modeller we are luckily enough to have. Videos are always interesting , thank you .
Incredibly awesome.
Andy's Hobbys Headquarters just came out with clear display cases for models.
I believe he's got a European connection also.
he has an American shop and a European one aswell
He is just reselling the stuff from aliexpress.
Dude, I haven't seen your last video yet and you already uploaded a new one? You're a legend!

Very effective. Very well done.
Outstanding work as usual, incredible attention to detail.
Thank you mah friend.
All I can say is you have a frantic eye for detail and the knowledge to recreate it.
Incredible work as usual Martin 👏
Your definition of “simple” is very different from mine!
Dude there is nothing simple with your awesome work. Brilliant video .
Perfect, as always.
You're my favourite model making channel by far. I get so much inspiration from you

That concrete looks amazing! I love watching your work and the techniques you use to get such great results. Cheers!
This is so hypnotic! Thank you man 👏👏👏👏👏
"My Friends" I haven't even started watching the video yet! I actually shouted that when I saw the notification.
Awsome job for awsome result ! Congratulations from a railroad modeler !
You're the reason I got into the hobby! Cannot thank you enough sir! I wish to shake your hand one day brother!! :DD
Another incredible vignette 😊😊😊😊
Brilliant!!! Simple stand but I think it’s the best one you have completed. Well done.
Great video man! Also sweet idea/set, please consider making more modern armour! (For example an Israeli Merkava, or an Australian ASLAV-25!) 👍
Was für eine fantastische Arbeit. Super toll ❤❤
I love this concrete effect, but struggling to find the right product in the US to replicate the result. Any insight into what products to look for?
It's just so good. I'm inspired every time I watch these videos. We love you Uncle

Fantastic scenery techniques and final results!!
Your one of the best channels on UA-cam.
Stydrodur styrofoam does not melt when using enamels. i always use enamels on that foam and it works great!
Boulder Creek Railroad only uses his static applicator for fine particles of grass, he recommends using tweezers for large tufts as well!
fantastic as ever Martin! I'm going to give the cork a try!!

Beautiful job as always Uncle.
Your builds are always mind blowing! When are you going to make a miniature gaming table and just completely blow up the internet!? Let's see some Bolt Action!
Thank you for showing a simple way to do this. It came out as a beautiful stand for your model.
You should try some American support vehicles most of them are usually weathered such as lhs the wheeled wrecker or the tracked wrecker the m88a2
Your diorama bases are really nice and compliment the vehicles placed on them. Would very much like to see you do a WWII Japanese fighter plane with all the chipping and weathering they are known for.
Really great inspiration. I will do some like this with the Verlinden V-150 Command Vehicle.. Thank you! Happy New Year!
Beautiful work on the concrete slabs!
Ma friend, that looks great...
What a joy for the eye! A lot of useful tips on making realistic looking concrete. Thanks!

Awesome video! Really like the result. And the concrete road how to was a pleasant bonus.
Best concrete I’ve ever ever seen
Definitely giving your concrete style a try!
Fabulously simple and effective design. 🙏🏼
Love that effect with the cork as concrete! I wonder if this would work on a smaller scale too?
I bet it works in any scale. Heck, now I wonder if it can be applied to thin styrofoam sheets used for plastered walls on miniature buildings!
I've tried it for a 1/72 plane and it worked pretty well
Simple and gorgeous diorama! Looking forward to your videos!
Skills! As for your publishing schedule - stay happy, man!!
The concrete texture looks amazing!
So much work, it's simply stunning!!
Increíble trabajo enhorabuena, ese hormigón es súper realista 👌🏼.

Pretty awesome! I’ll definitely start using cork when I make concrete, those cracks looked spectacular!
This is simply insane (as always)! SO talented! Great video, man!
Very realistic. Cork is good material. For stone facade is good too.
Amazing! I'll definitely try the cork approach to simulate concrete! I always discarded cork when trying to make a solid objects.
Thank you , Uncle Martin .
