It's always interesting to see that most people open their bonnets to look underneath. They proved a second earlier that they have no idea how an internal combustion engine works
I came across my road home from work yesterday flooded all across, I didn't hesitate, turned my car around, went the long way round, got home safe in the knowledge I had a nice working car and settled down with a nice cup of tea, that's how to do it
its hard enough to get insurance to pay out even if the car was stolen from a driveway..................... you reckon they will entertain any claim related to hydrolocking in this instance?
Amazing how much of a hurry these people are in to have a breakdown, most of them would've made it if they'd slow down 😂 top effort for standing there in the piddling rain buddy, most entertaining 👏
Well at one minute that white car engine was mashed in to a clattering rattling jumble of randomly distributed cogs and rods by the time those restarts finished.
They should be banned from buying a car ever again , they should attach a tag to them , if they attempt to buy a car an alarm rings, alerting the seller to the idiot that ruins cars
"Settle down class, settle down That's it.... quiet please. You at the back too. Now take out your exercise books and turn to a clean page. Today we are going to learn all about Hydrolock."
Learners plates on the bike 🤣 Aside from his ego don't think anything else was broken, the water was maybe 6 inches deep there. Way below the airbox and battery in any case :)
I can't believe that the guy actually called rescue and had them float him out on a boat in water one foot deep. Guess he didn't want to get his shoes wet. Some people. SMH.
All the years of design that went into these vehicles, the money spent buying, insuring, having MOT's every year, going on holiday in them, running a business using them etc then they get driven into deep water in a moment of madness & it's all over for the majority - 🦆🦆🦆 are waterproof & meant to go in deep water, 🚗🚐🚛 etc work very well on roads. Bonkers the lot of them.
Its the Jag at 2:38 that gets me, does the depth gauge showing 3ft of water not give you a clue that perhaps in a normal road car, that might be bad news?
I don't think fitting a snorkel outside but not bothering to actually feed the engine with it helps either. They show him opening the airbox; that snorkel isn't connected to anything! Joke of a clown car. Wonder if it honks?
It makes me smile they have not got a clue how to go through water.all moden cars have the air filter pipe in the grill area so the faster you go the quicker you bend the con rods😅
That white bmw tho, Jesus Christ. Bet the fire brigade guys in the other clip, were laughing when they got back in the truck, what a joke 😂. Although wrong to waste emergency services time like that.
I guess for many drivers they think some deep standing water even just 12 inches let alone 24 inches or more will be passable if I put my foot down. But that bow wave they can't see and even if they did, would have no idea where all that incoming water is going. Straight into the air filter housing and then into the cylinder head piston chambers. If they survive the flood, they think hurrah, but on exit there is normally a slope and the engine dies adding even more water from the clogged air filter into the engine. No diesel or petrol engine will survive. Water gets into the sump , all the electrics starter and alternator, hence the squeaking. Basically a very expensive repair job. But some drive slowly and that is even worse, as water enters the exhaust and kills the engine. Then a water logged car and it means a tow out. But if you drive slowly and keep very high revs with clutch slipping, it will keep the water out of the exhaust and you could survive. I have seen 4wd with a snorkel conk out because of the exhaust dilemma. Or the Fiat 500 stop and become a floater!! Would I take my 20 year-old Rover 45 through a ford, yes if it was only halfway up a passing duck.
I will never understand the mindset of people who 1- choose to drive through water levels unsuitable for their vehicle despite there being a water depth indicator. Or 2- people who think driving fast through water is the correct approach. It genuinely angers me how stupid some people are. Some people are just so careless to take brand new expensive vehicles through deep water. If you have a Land Rover/Range Rover then fair enough, but not some saloon car or something.
If the water is above bumper height, & you go in , you'll likely fry the engine if it gets into the Air Filter box . Any petrol or diesel ingesting water is a sure way to destroy your vehicle . Just gotta wonder how many vehicles that do this are completely written off
Love the display for the flood victims on the barrier at 23:17 You'd think it would serve as a warning but I guess if you're going to ignore the depth markers then you're not going to think twice about some number plates lol.
That lady driving while on the phone is gonna be crying even more when the fine for using her phone while driving comes in the post lol £200 and 6 points straight away , lets hope no Plod see this lol
When your engine sounds like jimmy spoons on steroids and bellowing white smoke thinking turning it over to dry out is not the best idea and I’m no mechanic 😂
Going in like a rally car, some indeed did skid on the surface for 10 m. But normal cars are not built like WRC cars. And what a surprise, that failed. At least drowning and killing motors. But several cars looked like they hit a wall with decent speed.... Water is heavy....
Saw a video very recently at one Copart auction site where there were row after row of cars all with water damaged cars for sale. It is not just the engine that suffers but all the internals.
Not to mention the electrics, plus the interior of some of them, I bet whoever buys one has all kinds of problems with it, be warning lights and faults galore, eml on as well, a motc failure..
once the air intake takes a fairly big gulp of water it hydrolocks the egnine at that point the engine is typically ruined . Most these drivers have done many thousands of pounds damage to their engine and they are not insured for it either even on fully comp
IS A HYDROLOCKED ENGINE COVERED BY INSURANCE? Your insurance coverage depends on the policy that you’ve chosen. However, auto insurance typically covers hydrolocking if it happens because of flooding (assuming you have flood coverage). Insurance companies usually do not cover car problems caused by negligence or risky driving habits.
No the white smoke is just steam from a small amount of water passing through the engine. It's when the black smoke 35:14 appears that the engine is blown.
1. If a road is undrivable, the authority concerned should close it. 2. If it happens regularly, build the road above the water line, by means of a bridge/dike to keep the road dry at all times. 3. If all of the above fails, don't drive a normal van/car into water. They are not made for it. 4. If you HAVE TO (so there is no alternative that cost you less than 12 hours of driving extra), you take a chance. Minimise the risk by not driving faster than slow walking speed.

They do it for that youtube money. has nothing to do with keeping us entertained.
The selfless people christian is talking about are the car drivers for destroying their engines. 🫡
@@vinn7944 You mis read what OP commented. The people who trash their cars in the water get no UA-cam money.

The same people who will drive away on an engine thats barely clinging to life, other than have to get out in humiliation with everyone watching
I came across my road home from work yesterday flooded all across, I didn't hesitate, turned my car around, went the long way round, got home safe in the knowledge I had a nice working car and settled down with a nice cup of tea, that's how to do it
Everyone turns around except the very small foolish percentage like these.
Hahaha, that is sooo true xD
Once you see the water going over the top of the bonnet you know the car's done for.
When white smok rises the engine has made a decision .......Like the vatican😂^

It's when the black smoke appears that you need a new Pope. 35:14
And people wonder why insurance is so expensive 😅
Avoidable damage won’t be covered by insurance

Worse problem for BMW and Audi is if the engine conks out in the flood water, towing means the rear wheel is locked messing up the tyre on extraction.
