Oooh I used to love the after dark movies. The Gravedancers is awesome, I heard it's getting the 4K treatment 😀 Frontiers, Dark Ride and Borderland are great too
I used to look forward to these when they came out on DVD back in the day. Some were better than others but most were fun. Two of my favorites that I still watch to this day are Penny Dreadful and Unrest.
One of my favorites from this series was The Abandoned (2006). Such a scary, dark horror movie. It does not pull any punches! I keep forgetting Dread was part of this series. I remember liking it. Need to rewatch it. I'm currently rereading the short story. One of my favorite Clive Barker short stories.
I’ve seen all of these!!!! I always loved this series. Frontier(s) is sooo dark but in a good way. I love Mulberry St and Dark Ride! One of my other favorites is Dying Breed . This one has Nathan Philips , one of my favorite Aussie actors. Also Autopsy is good as well. Thanks for reminding us how good this series is!!💀🎃
Yess After Dark Horror Fest, they released a boxset here yeaaaaars ago with a collection of like 8 of the films. I'd love to make a list and track down each film. I liked Wicked Little Things, The Gravedancers, Unearthed and The Broken (was trippy) from the ones I did see. Great vid! A trip down 00s horror is always a fun time
GAAHHHHH!!!! 8 Films to Die For! Damn those weekends were a blast!! 2006 was the best set of films, imo, Penny Dreadful was my favorite. Although 2007's Borderland freaked me out. Tooth and Nail was really good too. I think after 2007 they didn't show it anymore in my state, so I lost interest. It was such a unique experience to go see all 8 horror movies back to back in the theater with 15 minute breaks in between each. Theater was packed too.
Frontier(s) is the best of the bunch, on a whole different level ! Others that I enjoyed are The Gravedancers, Dying Breed, From Within, ... Rider Strong is also in Tooth and Nail
I always forget how engaging your videos are and that you talk about a different variation on the standard horrortuber fare. Sorry about that! Will remember from now on and be more regular 👍 Hope all is well with you. Thanks for the video and recommendations, most of which I actually haven’t seen!
@@mandysmorgueofhorror Thanks for replying! Made my day 😀 gonna go catch up on some of your videos I’ve missed. As long as you have the motivation for it, please keep up the brilliant work! Take care of yourself 👍
My first videos were rankings of these movies. A lot of them were rough to get through, but still some good ones in there. Don’t forget about the 2015 line up and After Dark Originals. There’s sooooooo much to watch. 😅 Gravedancers, Wicked Little Things and Autopsy are my faves.
I miss Horrorfest! I LOVE The Gravedancers! 🥰 Borderland I enjoyed as well. I LOATHE Deaths of Ian Stone. 👎😂 There's still quite a few of these I didn't get to watch at the movie theatre.
My favorites are Autopsy, Penny Dreadful, Unrest, The Reeds, The Final, Wicked Little Things, Dark Ride, Grave Dancers, Borderland and From Within. I have also seen Crazy Eights, Tooth and Nail, but I don’t remember much about them. I’m currently trying to watch them all as well, have been for a couple of years, but some are hard to find on streaming, box sets are ridiculously expensive, but I thrift movies a lot and somehow always manage to find one or two of them!!! Thrift books actually has quite a few of them on their website.
Am not sure if it`s still being done, but here in S.F., where I live, there was this annual indie movie horrorfest that was called Another Hole in The Head festival and they had some real gems from around the world.....which reminds me how I`d like to see if it`s still going on. It always fun and the theater they`ve always had is one of those cool, small places that are cheap and non-corporate.
🙋♀️ i remember! And i purchased most of them without knowing if they would be good or not 😂 the one i didn't get to purchase was lake Mungo which is one of the most popular ones! 🤦♀️
Yes! Loved waiting every year for the 8 films to die for. I’m sad they don’t do it anymore.
Same!
I remember trying to find the DVDs in Blockbuster. I realize how much that ages me.
Oooh I used to love the after dark movies. The Gravedancers is awesome, I heard it's getting the 4K treatment 😀
Frontiers, Dark Ride and Borderland are great too
Borderland is absolutely terrifying and such a banger.
I used to look forward to these when they came out on DVD back in the day. Some were better than others but most were fun. Two of my favorites that I still watch to this day are Penny Dreadful and Unrest.
I’ve been wanting to watch Unrest!

I can’t remember much about The Abandoned, so I’ll need to rewatch it!

I used to rent these when they would release the DVDs each year, talk about a throwback haha
I really liked The Broken and still watch it every couple of years; and you've talked me into The Gravedancers...
I need to revisit The Broken!

I would love to find alll the collections while thrifting. I’ve found a few. eBay sells the box sets but the prices are a little high 😅

That’s really cool that you experienced them in theaters! I typically just waiting until they were on dvd. I agree about 2006 being the best batch!

Oh yeah, I remember Tooth and Nail. I don’t remember liking it though lol

Dying breed was a good one
Yes!!! Love that one
Great video!
I miss Horrorfest! I LOVE The Gravedancers! 🥰 Borderland I enjoyed as well. I LOATHE Deaths of Ian Stone. 👎😂 There's still quite a few of these I didn't get to watch at the movie theatre.
Off topic, but have you ever watched "The Price We Pay", starring Emile Hersh? It is really good. It has a Texas Chainsaw vibe to it.
Not yet!
❤
i remember these...most of them stunk
But not all!
I tried to watch a few of these when they came out and I remember them being fairly shitty and unwatchable.
Frontiers is probably my fav on this list. Thanks for the ideas!
It’s such a good one!

the unrest is good still

Does anyone remember this? Gabrielle Anwar was in one of these and she saw a double of herself and started following it around. Sound familiar?
Are you talking about Body Snatchers from 1993?! I love that one.
@@mandysmorgueofhorror I was wrong, it is Lena Heady and its called The Broken. But it is indeed part of the 8 Films to Die for series. Cool movie.
You're right, Perkins14 was a fun movie.
