I love physical media… love seeing the covers, the special features… plus, they ever take something out of streaming or start censoring stuff, I can just take my copy off the shelve and watch it whenever I like
Exactly!
❤you and I could watch horror movies together at ANYTIME!! I absolutely adore your collection!!
I used to had a lot of dvd’s as a kid, but my parents threw most them away because I was “too old for them”. By the time I was 12, I started my love for horror and kinda grew up further into streaming. But since a few years ago I began buying physical media again and I love it. It’s still a small collection, but I’m getting there haha.
Oh no! Your parents shouldn't have done that - I have some friends whose collections followed the same fate. I was lucky my mom has always been quite a geek herself -she's currently 83, and still reading comics and collecting films, so she appreciates this stuff, and the memories - and, thanks to that, me and my siblings still have our stuff from childhood cramming the family house. The good thing is that now it is the best time ever to collect horror films in physical media: lots of gorgeous, marvellously restored Blu-ray / 4K collector editions from boutique brands like Arrow Films, Vinegar Syndrome, Severin, Indicator, with plenty of extras. A bit too addictive, but hey, some people spend as much on cigarettes - they are a great investment! All the best
Watching Stir of Echoes 😳 Nice list. Thanks for the recommendations!
Omg!! I am so glad you showed The Changeling, it’s the first horror film I ever saw as a child. It’s an amazing film and I need to watch it again
I love your description of the movies spot on without giving away lol
dead silence is super underrated and i hope it gets more beloved as time goes on.
I think it’s starting to get the love now
House of Wax IS one of the best remakes in recent years!!
What do you think is the best horror remake of all time?
@@megamikethemovieman
My picks of great horror remakes Mam would be Tx chainsaw Mass.,evil dead, the ring, hills have eyes, house of wax, house on haunted hill, the invisible man, dawn of the dead, the crazies, suspiria, the thing, the fly,dracula...ok I need to calm down lol. Just to name a few. What yours? Would like to pick your brain on horror.
@@jamesmalicoat9649 There’s a lot I still need to see but I guess the Fly is the one that pops into my mind. I cover lots of physical media topics and collection/haul videos on my channel, feel free to stop by to enjoy some of them and so we can talk more horror movies.
@@megamikethemovieman Oh yes you know I will. Love your channel! Your so funny and love your reviews and haul videos. There is one movie that's so underrated and that's Identity with John Cusak. If you haven't seen it it's a must and would love your take on it. Keep doing a horrorific job! Your one of my favs!!
I stopped buying dvds when I was about 13 and started streaming but now that I'm 18 I'm into films again and have recently brought a blu ray player and have brought so many films 😂
Im 10 and im watching the horror movies on dvds they are awsome i just watched the thing today and it was really good! Here is some i recommend

Conjuring 2 (2016)
You got good taste in Horror! It's very rare to see such a young person appreciating such iconic masterpieces
That's awesome. Having a wall of horror is awesome.
What’s the best horror movie of all time?
That’s great you’re getting more into the physical media again because that probably means we get more of these videos, and these types of videos are great. I bet you’ll love Pan’s Labyrinth.
There will prob be many more of these videos lol
What lies beneath and Stir of echoes are my fave comfort movies.
Omg I love Michelle Pfeiffer. Those 2 movies both had a crazy plot twist that I wasn't expecting but yet again I was a kid lol I love those and the sixth sense aswell. I remember watching them in theaters when we were dropped off and picked up until they closed imao
Bug is so slept on, I’m glad you talked about that one!
Great video..you have a really good point about how so many classic horror movies you would think are staples are not even streaming I looked the other day and Army of Darkness wasn’t even on there but I still have my DVD lol so just based on that these pickups were justified ..the way you’re so stoked about early 2000s horror movies really reminded me of the first time I saw the movie Dog Soldiers and having my mind blown if you haven’t seen it I highly recommend it it has an awesome cast and some of the actors from The Descent
I think Army of Darkness is actually on HBO Max right now! Dog Soldiers is one I haven’t rewatched in a very long time - it’s def due for another viewing!
Wiker Park is one of many Hartnett films that was based on a Shakespeare play. I went through a phase where I was really into movies like that. It's pretty good. I don't know if it felt like a thriller to me though.
I didn’t realize it was based on Shakespeare! He also did O, which I loved too.
We'll need your review of Pan's Labarynth. That movie is soooo sooo good!
I can’t wait to finally watch it!
That is a great haul! Congrats on getting all them beautiful gems!
as soon as i saw crimson peak i knew i could trust you with my life and all the recs
Just seen video I’ve done everting you said love them in past and got a new horror bug collection getting carried away
Do you have the horror collecting bug?
So similar to myself. Have a large collection of dvd movies, but over the past couple years been concentrating on cds, but lately finding my interest in dvds back to the level it used to be. love your videos
I'm so jelly of your Sadako doll! Soooooooooo cute
That’s a great haul! I recently watched The Descent for the first time - omg my anxiety was on another level 😅 So good!
What’s your favorite horror movie of all time?
I have all but 2 of these in my collection too! I have been collecting physical media for years, and when the big streaming craze took hold during covid, so many people got rid of their dvds to only stream that thrift stores had LOTS to sell cheap. I buy most of mine second hand. Like you, I find streaming lacking in what I want to watch frequently. Seems like whatever it is, it's on a service I don't have. I still stream, but if I really love something, I buy the physical media and only subscribe to a few of the main streamers.
@@MsBluheart I love having movies/shows physically. There are a few things that never show up on streaming or get taken off so quickly and that stinks
I keep hearing about The Changeling, I really want to check it out now.
It’s amazing!
I have Horror movies on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4k UHD as part of my physical media collection
I wasn't going to leave another comment but then you had to go and mention The Changeling .
The opening scene always hurts my heart. One of the first movies I saw dealing with grief.
Which leads one to believe that not everything you see thru the eyes of the protagonist is accurate.
Also some very nice pick ups for a video collection.
The Changeling is such a heartbreaking story all around.
I hope you enjoy Misery! Love the book , and yeah the film is different, but so so good!,
What’s your favorite Stephen King adapted movie?
9:22 when I rewatched TftC, I couldn't believe that was Demi Moore in that one episode. I remember watching that show as a kid (definitely shouldn't have! 😂) and that episode was one of the ones that stuck with me along with a few others.
10:50 oh are you in for a treat! Pan's Labyrinth is one of, if not, the best fantasy movies ever. Be warned, it is a dark fantasy, and it is DARK lol definitely not for kids.
Great movies, I have almost all of those in my personal collection 😀👍
Lots of underrated gems there. 👍
Yes i love Dvds..House of Wax is good. Vacancy, Awesome..The Descent i have it also. Misery is a very good movie. Need to get it again..Great movie. Enjoyed your video. Keep up the collection.
Thanks!
great collection, love particularly the changeling, the skeleton key ,the amityville horror,i have both versions of house of wax and both are great movies.love the channel.
Right off the bat (pun intended?) You reminded me of how much I enjoyed 'Stir of Echoes'. It's been a very long time since I saw it, so maybe I need to do a treasure hunt myself.
I'm always impressed by how many Stephen King mini-series there are out there. I should also look for those to rewatch for those gloomy, rainy days.
So happy to see YT creators who look positively on even the most humble or not exactly perfect movies.
Thank you!
Stir of Echoes is SO good!!
@@mandysmorgueofhorror Okay, I'm convinced. I gotta find it and give it the rewatch it deserves!
Just started watching 'Kingdom' (currently on episode 3), and it's fabulously chaotic and wild.
So much horror to watch (and listen to...I'm a big fan of audiobooks), so little time!
Mandy your collection horror movies in thrill movies list are great
Such great finds! Welcome back to the physical media collecting! Thrift stores are such treasure troves. The question is... Stickers left on or the battle to peel them off? 😝
That Amityville Horror Bluray cover is * chefs kiss *
I love The Skeleton Key and Constantine but all the films you picked-up are great.
I hate the stickers!! I’ve been able to peel off a few successfully, but I am so terrified of ripping them. It’s the same with the books!
Not so sure at some of those choices. Check out the following:
Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (2010)
Intruder (1989)
The Hole (2009)
Dark Ride (2006)
Black Christmas (1974)
I love these kind of videos! Instant subscriber! ❤️❤️❤️
I collect as well and I appreciate your collection a lot.
I watched "What lies beneath" in theatres with my dad❤
Great collection Mandy, thanks for propagating those movies (all great titles) and please keep making these videos. Did you ever see the movie 'The Night Flier' (1997) with Miguel Ferrer? It's a really cool vampire flick that kinda 'flew' under the radar and so doesn't get the attention it deserves. I think it's one of the creepiest and most atmospheric Stephen King adaptations.
Yes, I love that one! I actually talk about it in the video I have coming out later today 😂
Here's a movie that I just recently watched is called open 24 hours you like suspense horror keep you glued to your seat to the end of the movie I think you will like this one
Cry wolf, dead silence, skeleton key, house of wax, stir of echoes and ring are so good! I did like almost every movie on this list tho 😄 The Exorcism of Emily Rose is scary, I just re-watched it few weeks ago!
The Exorcism of Emily Rose is super unique in that it’s also a courtroom drama. It makes everything feel so real and even more terrifying!
Good video. Nice collection. You look like someone famous. I can't exactly pinpoint who.
I love stir of echoes.
I have almost all of these movies in my dvd collection too! If you ever see it, there's a dvd of the prequel story to Rose Red titled The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer and it's really good too.
I’ve heard of it, but I’m hesitant because I don’t think SK was involved and I thought Rose Red told a lot of Ellen’s story already. Maybe I’m wrong?!
@@mandysmorgueofhorror It greatly embellishes on the little bit of Ellen's story we heard in Rose Red. I am always sceptical of nonKing written additions to his stories as well, but this one fits in perfectly. Also King endorsed the book it's based on saying Pearson did a great job and he couldn't have done better.

Constantine is very underrated. Keanu is also good in The Watcher with James Spader. Not horror but great suspense
I need to revisit that one. I actually just picked up The Gift from 2000, and he’s great in that as a villain!
What is your take on DVD --> Bluray --> 4K?
Any preferences when building out your collection?
I never really stopped building my collection since physical rental stores closed down. But now I am holding off more since the "nice to have, may watch a few more times one day" is usually available streaming. Saving the purchases for the real "must own, must preserve" titles. Mainly going bluray with the occasional 4K for something newly remastered or very special effects heavy.
I don’t have a preference- I buy whatever I find that is cheap! I also know nothing about 4K lol
The lead singer of disturbed 😂😂😂 subscribed now❤
Haha whenever he barks I just hear the beginning of “Down with the sickness” 😂 Thanks for subbing!
So many fun movies on this list. Underrated IMO: House of Wax, Bug, Dead Silence, Prisoners, Freddy vs. Jason, Emily Rose. The ONLY movie I disliked on this list (I've seen 90% of them) was Diary of the Dead. Cheesy...but I'll definitely re-watch it haha. I still haven't seen Constantine, The Mist, Crimson Peak or Pan's Labryinth. I don't collect physical DVDs or blu-rays anymore; I'm more on a horror book kick right now, but I have about 100 of my favorites stored safely in a plastic bin under my bed. I just ran out of room and didn't want my kids staring at all those sweet covers tainting their minds at a young age. Not gonna lie though, after this video, I might take a closer look at the DVD section at Goodwill and might stop by fye ;-) Thanks for the entertaining content!
Great haul!
Movies you need to watch want to do own first nightmare on Elm Street 1984 the house. On sorority row happy birthday to me
I just found your channel Mandy good to know your love for physical media has come back to you yeah I like to buy physical media to for the same reasons and more awesome movies by the way😈😈👍👍
I love your collection
This is an issue I always have here in Australia, so Ive always bought dvds + hate when they change the music like they did with Supernatural when went to Netflix 😑
I always forget about things not being available in certain countries too. The music changing is the worst. They did that to Dawson’s Creek too 😂
Just ran across your channel. Great video. New Subscriber
I love you're videos 😍
I am excited
Nice picks. I'm trying to figure out the name of this low budget indie psychological thriller about a lesbian couple who has a small child that fell through their apartment window and the grieving mother is wary about her upstairs neighbors..a lot of folks consider it the modern day rosemary's baby.. Someone please help me
HOUSE OF WAX AND BLACK CHRISTMAS REMAKE MENTIONED!!
No Hammer horror, no Euro horror, no Corman horror or Italian films,I have most of these, but they are more These modern films simply garnish in my collection. The most notable on there was Misery. I have around 2000 horror films. Hammer, Giallo and Universal would figure prominent on my top 30. The 1979 Body Snatchers and Rosemary's Baby are great choices.
Good for you!
@@mandysmorgueofhorror what was your first horror film? Mine was The exorcist. You to be a a big fan of suspense.
Oh my gosh, I wish I could find a friend like you in real life! We like all the same things. And not to be creepy, but I've always wondered, is your name Amanda and you were born in 87?? If so, same here girl!! and it would just solidify my first statement haha thanks for the incredible content!
i have wicker park vacancy cry wolf prisoners on dvd
constantine is a dc comics super hero and that is why you will likely not see keanu reeves in another constantine movie. warner brothers is a mess, especially in regards to their dc property.
Hey hows it going I've started my dvd collection bought the descent havant watched it yet
Have u seen dawn of the dead
I love both Dawn of the Dead films, but the original is my fav.
@@mandysmorgueofhorror i haven't seen the original but i like the remake
yes babe ,you love it and you fell in love.there are mutch better movies.
If you like Stephen King check these movies out
Needful Things
Graveyard Shift
The Mist
Thinner
The Dead Zone
Ive never seen freddy vs jason either . I thrifted it and was about to watch it. I wish ud mentioned u were gonna spoil the ending. I get it has memory for u but u didnt say the ending to the other movies so i didnt know ud say the end of that one. Please say spoiler warnings before they happen.
Sorry, didn’t mean to spoil it. I don’t think it ruins the movie because the movie is more about the whole experience. I also don’t think the spoiler is completely accurate…
gotta say u look like Patricia Heaton
do video of full dvd collection
I would like to. I just don’t have a cool set up like other people do, so I’m not sure how to do it!
Done
stir of echos was way better than the sixth sense
I like it more!
i think IT was boring,,,The Descent 1and 2 were both good
Very beautiful ❤❤...im from italy and yuo?
