Hm, hey there Paul. I don't mean to complain, I mean, anything u 2 guys do is interesting. However since we all already know your origins history it would have been interesting had u went into exploring a topic or subject like dating for example. How it's been for you and what resources and ways u've been utilizing since u've been there and your experiences of them/that. Perhaps for a future vod? ;p And well done again and love to see what is going on and happening over there as usual, 1000 %!!! :D
Hey Paul, found your channel thru Forrest. Nice to hear about your journey, you appear very level-headed and wise! I wish I had travelled to Thailand in my 20s. I'm a Korean Australian born in Sydney and moved over to Thailand in 2014 with my Thai wife. So I got to live like a local there. Unfortunately things didnt work out and I moved back to Sydney right before covid struck. Always miss Thailand but have travelled there 4x since Covid (incl. signing divorce papers 😢) and a 5th trip is lined up for the end of Jan into Feb. Thailand will always be my 2nd home! Look forward to your adventures bro, will be following with much interest! 🤙
Thailand offers an exceptional experience for those on a budget, especially in Chiang Mai. Unlike bustling Bangkok, Chiang Mai has cooler weather in the winter, making it a delightful and affordable destination for travelers seeking value without compromising on the joys of travel.
We’re not all degenerates here in Pattaya. The nightlife here can be a pitfall. But this pertains to all party spots around the world. You need to have your shit together to live in Pattaya, Bangkok, Las Vegas, NYC, Amsterdam, Barcelona etcetra. I live in Wongamat Beach area of Pattaya. About 10 minute Bolt ride to Soi 6 and all of that. It’s quiet here. But I’m 53. Don’t really drink much anymore. I go “into town” maybe once a month , have 2 or 3 beers and then go home. In my 20s this town would’ve killed me. Thing I miss the least about the US? The politics. People argue about GOP vs Dems. Like either party cares about them and will make their lives better. They both suck. Things I miss about the US? Family . Friends. Not sure if I’m gonna just live here in Thailand. But it was a nice jumping off point introduction to Asia. Thais are pretty nice people. Pretty laid back. Some things I don’t like about it here but no place is perfect. And the pros of living here vs the cons of living here are numerous. Running to Malaysia next month for the first time Very excited to see Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu. If you’re young and living in the US and can work remote , I’d seriously think about moving out of the US. Relocate here or someplace like here. If you can make $50k a year you can live like a king here. Whereas in the US in SF or La or NYC or even Chicago you can make $100k a year and still struggle. The quality of life here is equal to or better than what you get in the US and at a third of the cost. No value in the US I’m afraid. So check it out. Come to Thailand.
Interesting conversation. Im a retired expat from the US living in Thailand 5 1/2 years. Have enjoyed every day. Was in Phuket 4 1/2 years, now in Trang, Southern Thailand. Have a great Thai Wife. Love the people, culture, relaxed lifestyle, great places to visit and travel to. Would never go back to the US.
Also spousal cheating in America is rampant and disheartening. Almost every couple I know have cheated on one another. There seems to be “the grass is greener on the other side” mentality but in most cases there isn’t.
Great point about watching the news. I new it was bad for me but I didn’t realize how bad until I lived in Thailand for two years and came back to America. There’s nothing about the news I missed except for its ability to suck the soul out of you. As a conservative social worker my life has been extremely stressful dealing with the progressiveness of the field and the ridiculousness of having to memorize everyone’s pronouns. I almost got fired because I kept making the mistake of calling a trans woman “sir” who made no attempt at all to even appear feminine. I can’t wait to leave this insane asylum.
As an Asian American growing up in the US, I was invisible to girls. American white girls prefer white and black guys and sometimes Mexicans. We are portrayed so negatively in the US. I’m looking to move overseas permanently and enjoying the latter half of my life with the local girls and dare I say, get married:)
As a tall above-average white man, I became invisible in my 50s, even afraid of. In Bangkok, I've never had it better, am respected and appreciated again. Western women aren't feminists, they are actually toxic female masculinists. Do not engage.
Thumbs up 👍 Paul, Me being 1/2 Asian and 1/2 white growing up in Washington and now living in Phuket & San Francisco, my wife Thouny is 1/2 Thai and 1/2 Laos but raised in Southern California, I guess I get the best of both worlds
Great point about finding a wife. It's not just being Asian. There's a narrow band of men who are what American women want. If you're not in that narrow band, dating in America is awful. In my case, as with many expats here, my problem was age. I'm 6 feet tall, fit, moderately wealthy, and have some level of status. But I'm older. I was maybe getting one first date a month, 2 or 3 second dates a year. Tried Japan first. It wasn't terrible. For visa reasons I decided to try a few other countries. Got to BKK and started dating. Was doing coffee or ice cream for first dates, getting as many as 3 first dates a day. Found her within a month, January of this year. Exactly what Forrest described. Traditional, family oriented. She's perfect. Proposed after about 6 months and we are legally married now. We will hopefully have children soon. Could spend the rest of my life in Thailand. I'm not as committed to Bangkok. I'd like to move south to get out of the winter air pollution cloud. Maybe Hua Hin but probably a bit farther south.
Only thing about Thailand is even though there might be a general lack of excessive rules/regulations,...at the same time visas are a real serious nuisance and pain lately - even for guys that marry Thai nationals.

I’m sure Forrest is cool if you get to know him. But he comes across in some videos as kind of a mean cynic and very judgmental. I’m Thai and grew up in the States since I was 2. It’s given me so much good in my life. A good education and a career and lots of great friends. In my opinion, it’s not the steaming shit hole that he constantly tries to portray it is. And I love Thailand as well and have travelled there many times.
I share the exact background as you! I was raised in the states from the age of 2 and I am now 55. I have deep appreciation and admiration for my adopted country but I’m ready for a new adventure in my retirement in the country of my birth!
I'm American, I married a Danish guy, he didn't have 10 million dollars ... We've worked really hard and still don't have 10 million dollars. We're not poor, but we're sure AF not rich. We love Thailand, can't wait to retire there.
I believe what Forrest is trying to say is that you need $10 mil to date the same quality of woman in the US as you could in Thailand. The exact number might be exaggerated, but I totally get what he's saying. Supply and demand is very much so applicable to dating (esp in the post-dating app world) and the demand for desirable women in the US far outstrips the supply. Therefore, the "cost" is much higher in the US.
10M will leave you with 5M with a US Gold Digger. BTŴ I married a Spanish women and escaped LA to Madrid. Visit Thailand with family on vacation. It was so much better 20 years ago but still good
He’s saying as an Asian American male you need $10M to attract a woman of the same attractiveness level as a woman who would be fine with $100k in Bangkok.
An American with a work-from-home job should consider relocating overseas. As per current IRS rules, there are no income taxes on the first $120,000 of wages, even if the wages are deposited in an American bank. The only thing that matters is doing the work from offshore. About buckets of Sangsom: just don't. That stuff is poison.
You still have file every year with IRS and if you have a corporation it's very complicated .. I make more than 125k and have 2 companies filing is impossible.
I’m Mister Mister and I approve this message! My first international trip was 2 months in Chiang Mai, 2017. After being there a few days i already knew i wanted to stay in Thailand indefinitely! Thailand is so far away for Americans living on the east coast. Have you explored any Caribbean island countries? I totally agree that Thai people are so friendly. My last day was at four seasons Ko Samui. That was the highlight of the east Asia trip.

i think people that move to big cities like Bangkok when you have the best island and beach options are crazy....you don't like Pattaya? I live in Jomtien beach, have a huge beautiful furnished 125 sq meter sea view condo for about 800 USD.....you must go to Pattaya beach in central pattaya, which is a dirty busy beach....I am also a US Army Veteran, and have lived in Cusco, Panama, Costa Rica, Malaysia, Da Nang along with phuket, koh samui, and now pattaya.....I now have several places just in SE Asia where I can go to at any time and be perfectly at home....don't believe the hype concerning anywhere in the western hemisphere....Asia is the most intelligent, civil, advanced continent on earth with the best cost of living, the best food, the easiest living imaginable....especially if you are an American and are used to the most expensive horror show on earth.....
Hey, this is a random question, but what health insurance did you say you used here in Thailand? I just moved to Bangkok (🎉✨☺️) and am looking for health insurance
Cigna Global is the gold standard, and keeps your options open if you relocate to another country. There are cheaper options, but you might not like how they get to a lower price.
I would say the dating scene for me in America is I don’t even know where to search for my ideal guy. So I might as well go where I would be around guys I would be interested in while living in an aesthetically appealing area with a lot of activities I would enjoy. I wish I had that where I stayed, but I have seen other things that made me happy despite unfortunate stuff that happened. So finally going to meet someone and actually socializing irl would make me so happy now
How are you guys staying so long in thailand? What kind of Visa are you guys using? And you both are full time youtubers? Is that how you're able to have normal working hours instead of having to work from like 8 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. working remotely for an American company?
Paul is on an Education visa and Forrest is probably on the Elite visa. Forrest has never disclosed his visa type but he’s done well with cryptocurrency so I’m going to assume he’s on the Elite visa because he’s under 50 years old.
How do you put up with the heatwave of 2024? There's a lot of positives to living in SE Asia, but then you have to deal with weather that is way hotter than South Florida and South Texas. A heat index of 122 degrees fahrenheit during April. What's the answer to that if you want to live in one place all year round?
Thanks for your video Paul yes chasing the never ending status and money tree does not give us happiness. Hope I can follow your discussion in the future
When I first saw Forest Lee's channel, I thought he was Singaporean based on his accent. One of the first clips of his first period that I watched. He deals with infrastructure like traveling on the subway system. and sky train😅😊👍❤️🎊🎉
Hey Paul, I’m and avid world traveler and it’s wonderful to see someone living life on their own terms, and enjoying life. I do not blame you for no coming back to the U.S. People there are hate filled as you stated.
As an American you need to pay taxes in the US and Thailand and you need to file every year. If you have corporations like I do outside of US its a nightmare.
“The best way to take care of Thai people is just to give them money,” such remarks are quite insulting. I don’t know which circle of Thai people you are in, but rest assured that these opinions do not represent the entire population. With that attitude, perhaps that’s why you won’t ever be in other circles anyway. I used to watch and enjoy some of your VDOs. What a shame to really know u through this interview.
I find Forrest among of the most judgmental and cynical expat thailand youtubers here. He is so much unlike the vast majority of the thai people here. Much prefer some of the non-American thailand youtubers who often don't go off into rants and judging whole groups of people who they have never met.
☝🏻💁🏻♀️I can understand where Forrest is coming from...as a European exchange student and a military wife in Japan (had I been guaranteed survivability on SOFA status...I'd still be there), I'm ready to leave my lifelong state of Texas and get to Thailand as fast as I can ONE WAY!!!🤷🏻♀️🤗
Good video. however i dont think Thailand is the best of Southeast Asia. Pick any Southeast asian country that suits your needs. Thailand visa is a huge issue for most non Thai people as one enormous issue.
Because Asia is affordable and on easy mode for your average Farang let be honest I’m Asia too 7 month straight 🇹🇭🇻🇳🇰🇭Philippines but I been all around Asia and Europe / Latina American Asia easy passport bro 😎
22:20 Forrest goes mask off here. Can you imagine having daughters and nieces and spewing this BS? He's just fell short from telling women to make him a sandwich.
He’s speaks about America as if we’re in the 1980s/90s. The “culture wars” and “rising feminism” occurred back then. Nontraditonal families, empowered women, and the elimination of Christianity from the public space has been the norm since the mid-2000s.
The whole thing about thai people praying to everything is true af. I'm thai and noticed my mother doing that and this funny mf replies with "I'm covering all bases, sometimes buddha don't wanna hear my shit but jesus will" cracked me up man.
What you said about television and newspaper news is true in the old day when internet and youtube doesnt exist. People has no choice but watching television and reading newspaper as a source of entertainment and relieve stress, take your mind off from work , family, and study. These days who want to listen to commentaor about local politic, geopolitic, war in Ukraine , Israel ?
That opening statement is wild. I agree with a lot of the things forrest says and i really like the guy but he makes some narrow-minded comments. Grass is green where you water it. I believe you can be happy in the states, but i still agree with him on most of the points of why its not a nice place to live. Thailand will always be my home and my favourite place on earth but after travelling to over a dozen countries, I believe that you can be happy almost anywhere, if you know how to find it and who to be to find it. People is everything to me.
Agreed, and one thing I noticed in some of Forrest's videos is that he basically refers to the entire United States as if it is all like the SF Bay Area where he is from, which means basically every problem is exaggerated if you don't have an enormous amount of money
@@jaxonmattox9267 fr, he acts like the majority of americans are all materialistic vegan non-binary queer yoga instructors that goes to pride parades every weekend and complains about the sweetness of their soy matcha latte
@@jaxonmattox9267 at the end of the day its about perspective and travelling really opens your eyes but not until you are open minded to people coming from all facets of life will you truly be able to be happy wherever you are
I don't know Forrest can be funny. He is right that Thais would pray to any Gods hoping one of these Gods will help them win a lottery. He is so right about that 😅. Btw, I don't think giving people money is always the way to treat Thais. Although some people would take money but a lot of people would not take it, especially if you know them well.
I'm moving to Thailand in the next 2 years. I have a 4 year old daughter and wife in Surin. People ask me why don't you move your family to America (where I am from). I literally laugh so hard I almost pass out. I call it the 3rd and final chapter and I'll spend it on the greatest place on earth. I'm 54 and haven't watched the news in 30+ years and everyone I have ever talked too said I haven't missed a thing. Great interview by the way.
I agreed with what Forrest said about the politics in America, I get sick into the politics too much, sick with especially with Trump and his MAGA supporters I think Thailand will be good for me
$1M is a lot of money. The average American is not rich by any means, and are able to date and meet people. The $10M threshold that Forrest professes that he needs to date in the US is delutional. He just has no game in the states. lol@@stegura83
Forrest has a shallow view of relationships where he think money is the main driving force. Just look at the example he had presented about the iphone gift to his girlfriend - it's comical. "Oh I can't date in the states because I don't have $10M" is hilarious on the face it. Had he said that he could not keep a relationship intact because he's been floundering without direction in the past few years, then that would make more sense. That's in spite of his silly view of old fashioned roles men and women should play. lol @@mmfong297
You need to have 10 Million to date in the US??? Absolute mind blowing nonsense. That is absolutely absurd. 99.999% of Americans don't have that kind of money. That and his other comments totally destroy his credibility. Many Asian American men have problems dating and just as many don't. 9 out of 10 of my Asian American friends have no problem dating and getting married here in the US. Forrest clearly had problems and is reflecting it on everyone else.

Need a private security guard / care taker / assistant? haha I want to move to thailand so bad.
I'll be in Don Muneg there's not internet so I've had to use my phone hot spot can you recommend a mobile Wi-Fi device?
Hey, this is a random question, but what health insurance did you say you used here in Thailand? I just moved to Bangkok (🎉✨☺️) and am looking for health insurance
Cigna Global is the gold standard, and keeps your options open if you relocate to another country. There are cheaper options, but you might not like how they get to a lower price.
@@gmbeahan THANK you so much 😊 - appreciate this!
Forrest "Not here to judge" then proceeds to judge in every video.
You need to chill 😂 most of Forrest’s videos is tongue in cheek anyway. If you feel offended the problem is on you
It’s not judging, he is just calling a spade a spade
Thanks Paul for your personal insights. I’m seriously considering living in Bangkok permanently
For Pattaya working girls, 8 pm to 5 am are normal working hours. American men coming to Thailand don't need to shift their sleep cycle.
Sick watch Paul! Cheers.
What visas are you guys on to stay in thailand longterm?
How do you put up with the heatwave of 2024? There's a lot of positives to living in SE Asia, but then you have to deal with weather that is way hotter than South Florida and South Texas. A heat index of 122 degrees fahrenheit during April. What's the answer to that if you want to live in one place all year round?
Politics is a luxury we can ignore, until you have tanks rolling across your lawn and you wonder what and how this happened.
Bingo.
That’s not happening in the us, the emotional manipulation is always fear mongering non sense
Stupid
I'm an American and I plan to move to Bangkok within the next few years.
หาดีดีค่ะ บางทีเขาอาจรักคุณที่เปลือก หรือพาสปอร์ตที่คุณถืออยู่
Great video. What visa do you guys recommend as a UA-camr living in Thailand? Cheers
E-beggar Visa.
Bangkok is stressful and polluted. Thais dont speak much english. I d chill on an island there.
What a shame to really know u through this interview.
then what else shall a foreigner do. you are a very unintelligent person.
I find Forrest among of the most judgmental and cynical expat thailand youtubers here. He is so much unlike the vast majority of the thai people here. Much prefer some of the non-American thailand youtubers who often don't go off into rants and judging whole groups of people who they have never met.
nah, it's refreshing

Привет Пол, пришёл поддержать тебя с канала русского парня.
☝🏻💁🏻♀️I can understand where Forrest is coming from...as a European exchange student and a military wife in Japan (had I been guaranteed survivability on SOFA status...I'd still be there), I'm ready to leave my lifelong state of Texas and get to Thailand as fast as I can ONE WAY!!!🤷🏻♀️🤗
Great interview and for sharing 👍
Spot on Forest...
Good video. however i dont think Thailand is the best of Southeast Asia. Pick any Southeast asian country that suits your needs. Thailand visa is a huge issue for most non Thai people as one enormous issue.
Man...l cant wait to get back there in January 2024
❤❤❤
Because Asia is affordable and on easy mode for your average Farang let be honest I’m Asia too 7 month straight 🇹🇭🇻🇳🇰🇭Philippines but I been all around Asia and Europe / Latina American Asia easy passport bro 😎
10M will leave you with 5M with a US wife. LOL
22:20 Forrest goes mask off here. Can you imagine having daughters and nieces and spewing this BS? He's just fell short from telling women to make him a sandwich.
I think he is referring to fourth and third wave fem. C'mon. That's why people migrate to Thailand!
Not the first time I heard him say this
He’s speaks about America as if we’re in the 1980s/90s. The “culture wars” and “rising feminism” occurred back then. Nontraditonal families, empowered women, and the elimination of Christianity from the public space has been the norm since the mid-2000s.
Forrest you were joking about the $10MM right?
The whole thing about thai people praying to everything is true af. I'm thai and noticed my mother doing that and this funny mf replies with "I'm covering all bases, sometimes buddha don't wanna hear my shit but jesus will" cracked me up man.
What you said about television and newspaper news is true in the old day when internet and youtube doesnt exist. People has no choice but watching television and reading newspaper as a source of entertainment and relieve stress, take your mind off from work , family, and study. These days who want to listen to commentaor about local politic, geopolitic, war in Ukraine , Israel ?
SangSom is rum, not whisky 😡
👏🏾🔥👏🏾🔥👏🏾
@@jaxonmattox9267 at the end of the day its about perspective and travelling really opens your eyes but not until you are open minded to people coming from all facets of life will you truly be able to be happy wherever you are
250 grand a year to date I don’t think so but way way way above average for family income
He’s talking about thai girl….
@@JEMXliveChannelPeople have a choice to do what they want as long as they are happy with it.
Paul is that a real Patek watch
Nope.
Negative guy with a happy face.
@22:23 Let's make that "The ongoing rise of toxic feminism."
We do love the lottery😂😆🇹🇭
murica is hyped. hindustan south.
Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, weak men create hard times.
How about a follow up interview on how @ForrestLee reads people?
Damn I didn't know Forest Lee was a Vet!
“Army training sir!”
I think that explains how he can be retired at a young age. He probably has a 20 year army pension that allows him to live free, in Thailand.
Patek?
Paul made lots of money with ecommerce ( dropshipping ) that should explain it :)
I don’t think what he’s saying about dating in the states is accurate 🤷♂️
Wow, I do
That look at 3:05 “this story’s getting kinda long bro” 😂
I agreed with what Forrest said about the politics in America, I get sick into the politics too much, sick with especially with Trump and his MAGA supporters
I think Thailand will be good for me
# ppl who say I don't want to get political then immediately gets political 😂
Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.
perfect
im so done with california
Forrest: It takes $10M to date
Us: Eh...that's ridiculous, we don't nee...
Forrest: Make it a bazillion!
Nothing like waking up to Forest Lee and Paul Lee
Stron men lead to good times
Good times lead to weak men
Weak men lead to bad times
Bad times lead to strong men
You boys brothers or ?
No haha
Just same last name
"The best way to take care of Thai people...give them money. Just give them money." 😅. Love that quote.
You need money in Thailand and you need money in the USA. Money rules. If you want to meet a Hi So Thai gal, you will need $$$$.
Give me financial news over politics ANY DAY!!
$10M net worth to date in America? lol, or is this a admission of personal dating woes not having anything to do with money.
I would feel rich with 1 million.😊
$1M is a lot of money. The average American is not rich by any means, and are able to date and meet people. The $10M threshold that Forrest professes that he needs to date in the US is delutional. He just has no game in the states. lol@@stegura83
he is trying to draw a comparison where you can have abundance of women flocking at you like Thailand
