    Thank you very much Mike - after 3 rebuilds over the past 4 years with our blasters your videos have become my exclusive reference. Each rebuild was a success as long as we bought Wiseco parts and followed the break in process correctly. All the best to you and your team. You deserve every bit of it.

    Those timing marks on the clutch side have to be aligned yes, but does the connecting rod have to be in a certain position when lining up those marks?

    Never use a hammer or a mallet directly on a seal or bearing usd the old one to drive the new one in safe right and never fails

    hei dude. I would be glad if you'd respond to this. So my start lever/pedal on my blaster doesn't really work unless I kick it a bit harder and then it engages. what do you think the problem might be?

    Good info. A friend who has rebuilt a lot of these says the sprung washer goes on first on the clutch shaft before that larger washer. Babbits Yamaha diagram also lists this way, don't know how important that is?

    how do I time the gears for more aceleration

    • @grindinggearsgarage9578
      @grindinggearsgarage9578  8 років тому +1

      thats not possible. you can change the gearing of your sprockets to gain for acceleration

      @the_ltz_guymaster7912 8 років тому

      Grinding Gears Garage like i want a longer shift time

    • @grindinggearsgarage9578
      @grindinggearsgarage9578  8 років тому +1

      longer shift time can be done by also changing the gear ratio. taller gearing allows for a higher top speed shorter gearing allows for a faster acceleration

    So, I have an engine, in pieces, more pieces than shown in this video, what should I do? Rebuild it myself or have someone professional do it (I have 0 engine experience).

    • @grindinggearsgarage9578
      @grindinggearsgarage9578  7 років тому +1

      pay someone to do it. engine rebuilding needs to be done correct. if something goes wrong there could be a lot of money down the drain.

      first place to check is clutch adjust ment. make sure there is a slight bit of play in the line before it engages. after that pull thr clutch cover off and see whats going on in there. bad adjustment, worn disks. thst sort of thing

    • @grindinggearsgarage9578

      +Bow Hunter there is a good chance you smoked the clutch disc as well. so new basket and plates should seal the deal. before you button it up put it on jack stands and sping the wheels in gear and make sure the clutch is working, may need help for that pat

  • @speckbeer
    @speckbeer 4 роки тому +2

    I appreciate the basics of this video but it has too many scary mis-steps and wrong information. The biggest thing is he didn't pre-lubricate any of it during assembly. His torque specs were wrong and the clutch wave spring goes on first next to the bearing. A copper penny is a lot easier and cheaper to find than a copper washer. Hammering on gears and bearings crooked? At least he could hammer them on straight if need be.

    does that center bolt need tightened on the clutch?

    • @grindinggearsgarage9578
      @grindinggearsgarage9578  8 років тому

      the center bolt on the clutch is the adjustment. once you re-install the engine i would set your clutch adjustment then remove the out part of the clutch and tighten the two nuts.
