- Follow along as we disassemble our Yamaha Blaster engine down. We start we a fully assembled engine and end with a split case. Thanks for watching and as always please send us any questions that you have.
I've watched about 10 or so videos and yours is the best it's the most comprehensive and easy to learn thanks
Man I tried locking the clutch basket with a screw 🪛 and loosining the bolt, did not work the baket broke
thanks for vid have to split mine cause i had a little bit of a piston breakage and now ill know exactly how to do it.
did you have compression prior to removing the top end.
ah the sandwhich bags *LIFE SAVERSSSS*
always have a bag and a sharpie on hand
Thanks
a question When you remove the piston from the connecting rod, you look at the crankshaft in that compartment, it has oil or there is no oil there
At 12:20 can you split the case there without taking off the other side or do you have to take off the other side
Do you insist on resurfacing the cases or whatever its called or can I get away with yama bond or similar on my lt250 and blaster rebuilds?
you definitely know what you're doing!
Thanks man! Don't forget to subscribe!!
+Grinding Gears Garage already did! I'm planning on buying a 2001 yamaha blaster in January... will they be hard to find then?
+Dominator 235 blasters are everywhere. They are all the same from 88-2002 and 2003-2006 they made a few changes like hyrdaulic brakes and electrical changes
+Grinding Gears Garage how much do you think I can buy one for?
+Dominator 235 all depends they vary by area. You should be ok at under 1000. Also check out our new Facebook page facebook.com/grindinggearsgarage1
hey man new sub here....content is great ...i have a question....its about a 2001 yamaha warrior....i just pulled the top end off and my valves need attention...mainly lapping and vg seals.... I know how to lap them but what the manual said to do is pour a solvent into the port and check for leaks ...i have leakage....so do think I should lap the stock ones or buy new and lap those in...im trying to save money cuz this rebuild is adding up but I don't want to cut critical corners either
id try to lap the stock ones. worst thing that is gonna happen is a little wasted time.
Hey man do you have a link for the adjustable hone you used ? Previously I just used a ball hone until I got what I was looking for. If you haven't used a ball hone they are awesome but, not nessassarily for precision accuracy. But, if you do alot of honing to clean cylinder wall's its so much better than a stone tool, which is what I used for years.
I have a stripped bolt and it’s the last bolt to remove the cylinder I can’t get it off any help on removing a stripped bolt any help is useful ty in advance ?
Did u get it? Or sell the quad
Bought a blaster and they've been running it on straight gas with the oil pump blocked off , it still ran but there is a hole in the case so it smokes like a train
Blasters are 2 strokes
How can I contact u for work that needs to be done?
HI, love the video! At 12:20 on your video you said ignore this next part if you are splitting the case. I bought a new crank cuz my main connecting rod bearing is shot, so do i need to disassemble the whole clutch side? just to get the old crank out and new one in?
your going to need to take apart a few things on the other side of the case to remove the old crank
Grinding Gears Garage sooo the only ones you would have to take off is the clutch and main gears where the timing is????
how much is the Yamaha Blaster spare parts there, friend
Where did you get that flywheel puller at 10:10? Is a special tool from Yamaha or can I get it somewhere else?
you can buy them all over. usually specific to each motor
Man clean that engine up before you start.
i dissaembled the engine for a full rebuild scrubbed it down
Grinding Gears Garage do you also disassemble the trans gears to clean? hate to get dirt and mud in there.
What could cause your ur kicker to stick
hi, when you rebuild a blaster engine, do you have to let it run idling for a certain amount of time? how long?
+Dominator 235 there is a specific break in procedure. if you google breaking in a 2 stroke engine. need to do a few heat cycles then ride around on a tank of gas lightly
This is an awsome video
thanks for watching!
Question why would the platic gear blow apart .??? and when the pomp is hooked up it does not ???... i had a few blasters in my time ...lol
its just a known failure point. oil degrades plastic overtime. way easier to mix fuel then run the risk of the pump not working!!
True your right .... better to self Mix ..... had my share of top ENDS rebuild over the years!!
hey how's it going I just bought a 2009 Yamaha Blaster and I'm having an issue that when you take off on first gear it struggles to go I want to you can out Thanks
luis chavez have done a leak down test? 2 strokes usually are plagged by leaks causing them to run badly. Also since its a recent buy id do a comp test as well
Where are you located? I rather jus pay yu to work on it than me mess it up
Located in South Eastern pa. I am super packed for space so it will be a while till I'm free
@@grindinggearsgarage9578 where at? I'm located in Central pa
did you upload a video of the assembly for the engine?
+Dominator 235 we did a bottom end rebuild video. We are editing a top end rebuild currently. Thanks for watching
+Grinding Gears Garage and what is a stator?
+Dominator 235 stator is behind your flywheel. thats where you generate your spark and the electric to run your lights
Giant the stator also used for the ignition timing
