I started around the same age. Obviously not nearly as talented as this guy but I was putting down some pretty good numbers for a newbie runner. I focused mostly on triathlon so not running high mileage. As soon as I started focusing purely on running I’ve been plagued with injuries. Again not saying I am anywhere near the league of this guy but I think I have the potential to run some decent times with consistent training if I could just figure out how to stop getting injured. So I wonder if somebody like this has faced this much since he wasn’t a runner most of his life. I’m at the point now where I am kind of fascinated how people can run so much/fast and not get injured. As soon as I start doing threshold sessions I am sidelined it seems 😂

@@thru_and_thru I've also started late with running and have gotten a lot of injuries. But for me, the main reason for the injuries has been a lack of mobility in things like the ankles and the hips. So, if those are not within proper ranges that they should be able to act in, then you're bound to get injured at some point.

In 2019 Victor ran 16:16 5k and 32:09 10k - not what I would describe as “just started running” but okay (:

4:38 is the guy in lane 1 with the green shirt considered bad track etiquette? it seemed like he should have been running in the outer lanes instead since hes going slower and blocking the faster people?

That's walk (in the sense of walk-racing) and if they have a workout in which it is prescribed they do some precise distance, then they have to stay in lane 1. No bad etiquette here ;)
