black and white 3 a new story, a new characters, refernces to sv and sword and shield, teraforms all that good stuff
Flat out true. 100% agreed. Even without the blunder of BDSP, Gen 5 was already executed near flawlessly. All it would benefit from are modern QoL features and connectivity. With no shade to modern graphics or art style, it's just completely unnecessary to change how they look or play. It's not like giving RBY or GSC a facelift with FRLG or HGSS. Gen 5 already reaches the quality of more modern sprite style games.
Give us Legends Kyurem instead, and let us finally see the original dragon. Or, even less likely... give us Black/White 3. But altering or revisiting the originals is a waste of time unless they're ports.

BDSP were pretty good in my opinion. Has its flaws but still enjoyable. But I do think GF is moving away from remakes since they didn't do the last remakes. They might do something different with Unova if they want the region to return
@JamieAlexander18 While I don't think they're better than Platinum, I do think there are reasons and preferences that would make someone play BDSP over the other sinnoh games. But that should have been a given since they released 15 years after the originals. There could have and should have been much more meat on the bones of those games. Regardless, I hope you're right because we really don't need more. I'd rather them port the existing games to switch

If there's a remake, it had better be an HGSS or an ORAS. I refuse to accept a BDSP. These games would AMAZING in full Switch 3D. A prequel would be cool too but I really miss the original storyline.

I was really disappointed when Diamond/Pearl didn’t get revamped like the gen 2 and 3 games BUT I want nothing more than a HD remaster/port of BW and B2W2 on the switch or whatever the next console is
I share the same feeling of disappointment.
We kinda do because of a small little thing. Gen 5 is filled with Dragons so much so that Fairies were introduced because of how many dragons Gen 5 introduced alone.
That isn't why. It's because Gamefreak couldn't make competent ice types, so all the good normal types became fairies to be dragon sweepers. There's a reason I don't play past gen 5 and it's because Fairy was handled sooo poorly. It's weak to basically nothing, and strong against a lot. It completely changed Pokemon, it is inarguably a top tier competitive typing and a must have in all teams now. Whereas they could've just made the ice types that exist better, or even just made fairy more balanced. So upset it stole ice's place as the dragon killer type.
@@keiraaaaaaaaaaaaaa Ice Types are weak to fire which is a pretty pretty popular offensive type... Which is learn by most if not all dragon Types. Heck Fairy type did more than just check dragon types. It also made steel and Poison more viable than before, specially poison types. The issue wasn't ice types sucking, it was Dragons in general not having a proper check.
I struggled trying to replay B/W because dragon types are way too over powered in them with no real checks besides another dragon type

Being unrealistically hopeful without much to back up why this would be a good idea just for the sake of conversation, but I've always hoped maybe one day instead of 3D models we could get some form of drawn art style, I don't know, aside from sprites I've always though that Pokémon preformed best drawn, that's how they're created, and fan's have been drawing pokemon and fakemon since the dawn of time. Perhaps a combination of 3D and 2D, a bit like dragonball fighterz is the way the franchise should move forward, it'd pay homage to the days of sprites whilst remaining in 3D, and show off pokemons very best by depicting them the way they were always meant to be, drawn.
If the original game is already perfect, how would the hypothetical remakes be bad?

100% i dont see how they could do say like a ORAS to a B/W id rather a faithful remake in 2d with not just tge 500+ but more than that in 2d id love seeing those animated sprites. 2d games CAN be done if done right, look at say hollow knight, and if its 3d? A legends kyrem game. Id love to see what the original dragon looked like

Legends Unova could give us the 5th Musketeer that burned the forest, a new Elemental Monkey and more Enamorus info.
Possibilities are through the roof with a legends game.
All I want them to do is release gen 5 they don’t have to make any changes just re-release it on the switch. Also, this is my personal opinion given how the newest games have been performing, not counting legends we should go back to these graphics given how are gamefreak is they can’t handle 3D

I 100% agree no way does Gen 5 need a remake. They are already amazing games and they might just end up like BDSP.

BDSP turned out pretty well in my opinion. They weren't perfect but they were enjoyable. However I doubt GF would do remakes anymore since they didn't do the last remakes.
Gen 5 remakes going the BDSP route wouldn’t really be that bad though. Because unlike BDSP, they would be remakes of actually good games.

It's just that the original Diamond and Pearl aren't exactly well-liked, especially compared to the superior Platinum, so the remakes basically being copy-pasted left a poor taste in a lot of people's mouths, though I personally think they did a decent job fixing a lot of the original's more glaring issues.
The point I was trying to make was that if Unova remakes went the BDSP route, they would be copy-pasting already beloved titles compared to BDSP copy-pasting widely disliked titles.

As someone who grew up with gen 5 anime and all, a remake will either make me really happy or break my heart. We already saw what happened to bdsp (yes ik gf didn't make them but regardless) and that was the biggest pile of horse shit ever that it made xy look good. Then we had PLA which was phenomenal and honestly id rather have a gen 5 legends game than a remake. However is they do decide to take the remake route and legends route, then please for the love of Christ give it to DeNa. Cause they know what theyre doing with masters ex and its beautiful. I just dont want my beloved Unova to be ruined by a shitty remake.
Gamefreak staff assisted ILCA in the making of BDSP. But yes, I do have hopes that if the legends route is considered that it will be good!
BDSP wasn't even that bad, it's just trendy to say it's that bad because it wasn't the best remake.
Platinum was the only game in sinnoh that is worth playing. Dp was dog shit and and the remakes are even worse

@@lucasfiresteel2204 I'm not even a fan of gen 4 and even I agree with Plat. Even though there are certain things about Plat I hate, its still a vast improvement of dp. Bdsp should have been Plat without the chibis (the chibis worked in 2d not 3d) and I would have been fine with it. Bdsp is just a cash grab like let's go but at least LGP LGE was competent and was visually appealing and beautiful.
3:21 Well for starters, availability
To play the game properly you need a Nintendo DS and a copy of Pokémon Black or White and 2, which’ll run you hundreds in the current year if you didn’t get them back then. People who won’t have those:
- people who were too young/not alive when those came out (there will be *teenagers* born after BW came out three weeks from now)
- people who didn’t happen to get those at the time (all four gen 5 games’ combined total sales were less than Scarlet and Violet’s sales in the first few weeks, they did NOT sell well)
And no, emulation isn’t a good solution. DS games are tough for the average person to figure out how to emulate well with proper controls, and the aspect ratio of DS screens don’t work well on a modern monitor unless you’re playing on your phone. A few years ago I emulated Ōkamiden after finishing Ōkami HD so I could have a crisp resolution and it just *did not control well.* Some DS games will do better than others on that front, sure, depends a lot on how much the touchscreen is used. But the huge black bars are pretty much unavoidable on most screens unless you wanna set the screens up side by side.
And that’s not getting into the things that actually should be changed. Those are totally subjective of course but I’m sure most would agree that HD visuals, the fairy type, and QOL changes to PC organization in recent gens would all be welcome, and from an objective soundpoint, the music could use remakes not limited to the DS soundfont.
They could do BDSP 2 without the chibi style or the botched launch, put Black 1+2 and white 1+2 into each box, and I would be happy. There’s nothing inherently wrong with a faithful remake, and the only BDSP complaints I saw much of would be easy to avoid in a Unova remake - no third-version type of game to potentially miss features from, artstyle’s easy enough to just make following gen 7-9 design principles instead of “gen 5 but 3D”, basically so long as they don’t botch what comes on the cart and fix it with a day 1 patch it should be an easy slam dunk.
Do I wish that they’ll make an alternate universe Unova with the seasonal gimmick and a slightly different story, like they did for gen 6 and 7’s Hoenn and Kanto remakes? Yeah. I think it’s really cool to get a remix of an old game rather than straight ported.
But, well, Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition is the only reason I like Xenoblade Chronicles even though it’s basically just the Wii game but on Switch and the models/textures redone and a little bonus content in the postgame, so if they do that again, I certainly wouldn’t complain.
You do not present a strong argument with emulation to be honest. While I do agree that it can be expensive to purchase a handheld and cartridge it all really depends on the motive behind it.
A loose copy of the game and a 2ds/ds can run you almost exactly and or under $150 if found properly.
Emulation is not difficult to understand and not difficult to setup controls. Accessibility is there. I haven’t come across issues or hearing people not being able to emulate on modern monitors. People can play them and then transfer their saves to their physical cartridges or they don’t have to and still own the save file all depending on the motive of owning the physical copy.

Altogether just shy of $300 after tax and shipping.
Pokémon doesn’t really use the touchscreen much so it probably wouldn’t be too tough to emulate them decently. For people who’re good with fiddling with tech, that is. I can’t guess what percentage of children could figure out how to emulate gen 5, or how many of those would actually be willing to put in the effort, but I’m gonna guess it’s well below the number who would ask for the remakes for Christmas.
You and I aren’t the target audience. If you’re old enough to have fond memories of gen 5, you’re outside of the primary demographic. Yes, Pokémon is *relatively* ageless and you’ll see more 20-40 year olds playing Pokémon than other big IPs, but the primary audience is kids, and most kids are kinda idiots when it comes to tech.

The Gen 7 games are very affordable and you can invest in a 2DS if you’re on a budget. Got a video that goes over budgeting for games and consoles if you’re interested.

Never been part of the Black and White hyoe but I’ve always been curious about the legendary’s original form. Personally I think a prequel is the best course of action so hopefully they’ll deliver on that. Great video dude!

I agree so damn much. I never wanted a Gen 5 remake, Gen 5 is pretty much perfect as is. But a Legends Arceus style of game for B/W? That’s all I ever really want.
I heard that it might take place in the future instead, which I’m not sure if that would be such a good idea unless they maybe go in an alternate timeline route where Team Plasma has taken control of Unova? Could be cool to be able to rebel against the tyranny and form a team of Pokémon, something that hasn’t been done in probably a long ass time in that universe (except for Ghetsis ofc, he would have his strong ass team).
I am beyond passionate about B/W, it was my second ever Pokémon game (I had only been playing FireRed beforehand lmao), and it’s the reason why I made any friends. Met someone on ToonTown named Dialga (which was my fav legendary at the time), we immediately became friends, and we started to roleplay and it was inspired by B/W. That made me realize there’s more people in the world who enjoy Pokémon, which gave me confidence to talk to other kids my age in Elementary.
That led me to meeting my irl friend group, which included my bf who I’ve been with for over 10 years now.
B/W seriously changed my life for the better, I just want Gamefreak to treat them with the respect they deserve.

The people saying this are not presenting a valid argument for why the series needs another sequel.
For me, Gen 5 wasn't really that memorable. I barely can remember much about any of the characters save for the rivals/friends, Ghetsis, and N. I actually can remember more about the Kalos rivals/friends, Hau, the Alolan Trial Captains, Team Skull, the Galar rivals, and even the Team Star Bosses more than I can remember about like Ghetis's theme. Besides all of that though, I do think Gen 5 remakes are needed. Main reason? Outside of Pokemon Bank and Go, there is four Unovan pokemon lines that have never been on the Switch. Patrat and the elemental monkeys. Unless Gen 10 takes place in a region based on like Australia or Africa, I'm not seeing them being available any sooner than with remakes of Unova.
Reason I mention Gen 10 is because of the noticable pattern of the remakes happening during Gens twice their number. HGSS during Gen 4, ORAS in Gen 6, BSP and Legends during Gen 8, thus Unova remakes will be during Gen 10. But yeah, outside of the two countries Gen 10's region could be based on, I'm not so sure where else you could fit both three monkey lines and a line with groundhog and meerkat designs in the same place. Unova remakes would also give us fans closure on the mystery that is the Original Dragon, especially if the remakes are in a Legends style.
I like this take, and i think it would be awesome to get a legends game about Unova, but i feel like it would need to be accompanied by some re-release of the gen 5 games on switch. Personally, I want to go and relive my first introduction to pokemon from when i was a kid, and replay those games in a modern setting on something more permanent than an emulator cause i cant find my old pokemon black cartridge from when I was like 8. I wanna replay those games and have it be a bit of a focal point around pokemon and have people talking about them again rather than do it in a kind of isolated way on my 3ds. that being said, they could easily ruin the games with a remake and i would rather a almost exact re-release on switch with only QoL changes and maybe some new areas and catching opportunities, maybe more ways that it can stay alive after you beat the champion, but thats just my 2 cents
Ive never got to play the gen 5 games, gen 6 were my first games, so being able to play the gen 5 games on new hardware and actually getting to experience them with a bunch of other people is very exciting to me

Before even watching:Yes,yes we do. Im not going to waste 1000 dollars to play two games. Everybody is talking about how everyone should know them and they are the best,and what? Do you expect me to download a virus full emulator? WATCH a 30 hour series? No. The old pokemon games are the type of games that arent enjoyable to watch.

Perhaps we are reaching when making “Breath of the wild” type of games nowadays.
Well, we have two remakes on the Switch so we not getting a third remake on the same console. Also Game Freak didn't do the last remakes. ILCA worked on them. I feel that remakes are going out the door the same way third version games went out in favor for DLC. Remakes are generally made for new players who never played the original games and can't get the original games and consoles anymore.
I don't really want to see another Legends game to be honest. It wasn't a good game. But Legends is a possibility and realistic despite me not liking that type of game
Who's to say there wouldn't be a third remake on the same console? ILCA followed Game Freak's agenda while having employees from there helping them publish what they wanted so nothing changes here in how they turn out to be.
@@BigNation1 they usually put remakes on a different console from each other. FRLG on GBA, HGSS on DS, ORAS on 3DS. So the next remake would likely be on the next console

are you referring to octopath traveller? a lot of people are suggesting pokemon go this route and im all for it also. it's clear the switch to 3d lost something that the series was great at, which was making VERY good animated little pixels. they arguably became some of the best games in the pixel style by the time of gen 5 as it was all they had done, then Nintendo wanted them to make the jump to 3d and so much of the character and colour was lost. Pokemon now look incredibly washed out and in battle kinda just stand there. In gen 5 one of my favourite things is that every Pokemon has it's little idle animations, your Samurott roars and rears its head, Pikachu wags its little tail and so on. 2.5d is an excellent direction for the series.
No remake, they should just make Black and White 3 and make it a prequel to the originals.

@BigNation1 or hear me out. White 3 could be a sequel and black 3 could be a prequel. White 3 bright future, and black 3 dark ages. White 3 you face the shadow triad, now head of team plasma trying to get the 3 legendary dragons to recreate the original legendary dragon of Unova. And in black 3 you go back to the Era of the two kings, and you have to chose a side Truth, or Ideals and help one of them take over Unova.
BDSP were such huge disappointments and lack lusting, Platinum was more of a remake than them.
It’s more of a remaster if anything as a remake only included what, Ramanas Park and that’s it? I digress but yes Platinum will always be the superior version of Sinnoh.

Bdsp were so bad I don’t even play Pokémon anymore scarlet and violet were the nail in the coffin for me. The Pokémon company doesn’t give af about making a semi decent game anymore they have their customers now they started just pumping out bs games that feel unfinished because they know the profit is inevitable
