For those unaware the English voice actor for Ferdinand, Billy Kametz, has unfortunately passed away due to cancer. One reason I think Three Houses did so well was the fantastic cast that voiced our characters and Billy was no exception. He helped bring Ferdinand von Aegir to life and I think Ferdinand's C Support with Edelgard in Three Hopes is one of the best out there. Thank you for sharing your talents with us Billy.
Rest in Peace Billy. Amazing voice work, I especially loved him as Dr. Maruki in the English dub of Persona 5 Royal, and (but of course) as FERDINAND VON AEIGIR, the noblest of nobels.
One thing I don’t see mentioned anywhere and see being ignored by most streamers is the autobattle feature, whatever misunderstandings come around it, in reality it’s very useful. If you set everyone on attack (which is what I do) this ensures that all AI allies actually do something when not ordered/completed a given an order. It’s set to “stand by” by default and as expected that means they stay still like a potted plant. I personally find the feature to make maps so much more fun as I can spend less time micromanaging as I know the AI will do something if I miss the notification for them having completed their orders / am too busy to address them straight away.
There is a lot of depth to the combat in this game, for most classes you can finish a combo and immediately follow through with your class ability letting you chain combos together. The biggest to me is that there is next to no cooldown for swapping between your main and your Adjutant and you can do it mid combo, so if you're right at the end of a big combo that'll knock someone back you can switch to your Adjutant and immediately starting chaining their own combos together and keep the damage going. There's a genuine learning curve to the combat in this game and it seems the game is balanced on the harder difficulties to account for your increased combat options as enemies on the first few war missions were 10+ levels above my own units.
The last bit is just how most warriors games work. Difficulty mostly just changes the levels of enemies, which can also make high difficulty runs impossible to do from scratch in some games.
I think Adjutants balance in the way that you losing out a units on the field for powering up the characters you currently play as long as They got advantage the AI controlled Allied capable of Seizing area without problem
Here is a better question, would you rather have a ball of 4 characters who will for certain kill anything you send it too, or have a slightly easier time controlling your character?
For characters like Marianne that have certain effects at 300+ hits, I'd recommend trying them out in the cavalier class. Their class action really makes it easy to maintain hit count between groups of enemies since you can just carry people with you!
I used Assassin, Trickster or Dancer for Marianne since they've got multi-hits for days lol also her ice activates at 150 now, i think they lowered it from 300

At first when I came across the Perfect Guard achievement, I thought it impossible as I just got Perfect Dodges without actually trying… then I tried letting myself get surrounded by generics and spam the guard button. You won’t regret it
Dimitri has the most fun Moveset out of the Three Lords in my opinion. And i like how they took direct animations out of three houses. Like the strong attack where he swipes wude and then throws his spear. It's the same move where he went mad and kills the three soldiers and then throws the spear at edelgard! Or his spinning move. Its his counter dodge move.
So I was messing around with classes and decided to put Lysithea as a myrmidon. Her spellbound effect still gets applied to enemies even when not in a magic class and if she knockback a spellbound enemy, they explode where they land. Just a thing I wouldn't have noticed had I not done so at random.
Yeah, it does seem like dodging might be the stronger defensive option for consistency while being able to expose the stun gauge with the perfect guard is a nice payoff.
@@TheSacredSpear If you could seamlessly guard mid combo, it'd be much better imo. As it is, it doesn't feel worth it to actively wait for an attack to guard when you could just attack then evade when they attack and keep hitting them after you dodge.
For those two and Rodrigue in Blue Lions, I'd recommend going into the training mode at the training field to get used to them. As they attack, you should see a visual effect on the character that serves as a visual aid for when you should hit the button.
Is there a way to quick swap on the battlefield between adjutant units, or do you have to navigate the menu everytime you do it? I couldve sworn ive seen gameplay where someone just quickswapped between two units
