    Brilliant, Sandy, thanks for putting this video up - I’m sure I must be one of those who have requested it! I find that good tennis players coming to padel may lack some of the mobility, anticipation and finesse that comes with experience, but some have a cracking forehand topspin drive which they just blast from the back of their court. They are wide open to any short return or a push toward the side fence…but getting a racket onto their shot is a pain. This bit of advice helps - thanks!

    Very useful video! I hear/experience this issue a lot especially among physically strong beginners using power bats.

    Thanks,
    Still not sure you addressed how you stop the ball coming off the racket and hitting the back wall.
    I do the high racket set up as you describe, but really fast balls blocked end up on the glass or low ones in the net often.
    Ideas?

      Might it be a question of the racketface angle in which you are blocking the ball with? Have a look at this video: ua-cam.com/video/UrF0dOp6Ij4/v-deo.html

      Taking pace off the ball is difficult and requires practice (and a bit of talent). I recommend soft wrists so your racquet gives way a little bit on impact.

    2:30 is excellent.
    I wasn't sure what to do about those cannonballs that go tightly over the net while I'm at the net..
    But having the racket closer seems logical.

      @@ThePadelSchool i think a lot of it is experience aswell right? Sometimes it feels very difficult to predict shots, even when im fully prepared.
      Especially if they go just over the net

    • @ThePadelSchool
      @ThePadelSchool  11 місяців тому

      absolutely, the more experience you have the better you will become at predicting 👍
