The Human word, is "wisdom," idiots call it "Emotional Quotient" because they are IDIOTS. Wisdom is a reflection of Sapience or "sense of self" and that is what defines the depth and range of emotions that one can experience and recognize being experienced in others. Wisdom governs tact(when to ignote or when to embellish the particular wavelengths of emotion that others are experiencing(obviously this is within your range of discernment). Some fool chose to misrepresent wisdom as so called "E.Q" because fools lack Sapience in favour of prioritizing intellect(memorization of jargon~trash) over genuine discernment much less actual use of intelligence.

I think ultimately the resistance towards our lower functions serve as a distraction and form of separation from the tribe no matter what they are. Simply because our struggle with them is self centric.
