I just have been laid off because my work wasn't needed anymore. Officially today is my last day in work but I got a day off so I don't even have to go back. I'm sorry because I loved my job but I understood the decision - I really didn't have a lot to do in the last couple of weeks. I hope to find a new job quickly.

Hi Teacher Bob, thank you very much for this video. I think you forgot a reason why we don't have a job: when we are retired! But I understand why you didn't mention it, probably because your topic was about employment and looking for or applying for a job.
If I had won the lottery while I worked, I certainly wouldn't have quit my job immediately. First of all because I loved teaching and out of respect for my students, their parents, the teaching team and the institution in general. And then this kind of economic change in a life requires reflection. I believe that in the first place I would have donated a portion to my children and to research organizations, mutual aid etc.

  • @Walt_raud

I don't have a job right now because I'm still in school, but I certainly wouldn't quit my job if I won the lottery. First of all, this money won't last forever and I'll eventually have to look for a job once again. And secondly, I want to be a teacher in the future and I don't want to disapoint the kids by saying "well yeah good luck to y'all, I'm out"
