I won't lie, I'm so jealous about that tooth! 😂 For real though, congrats to you. Crazy no one had spotted a big white blade like that on a dark algae-covered backdrop! It was meant to be yours. It's like the rocks were offering in to you on a pedestal
Great finds! We have some good artifacts around these parts, but I’ve never found any fossilized mammoth teeth or anything like that. I’d definitely be interested in purchasing some if you have overflow or something you can part with.
WOW! Congrats on the mammoth tooth and that white point... AND YOU LEAVE THE INCOMPLETE TEETH?! Wow... You certainly have access to incredible spots. I've been fossil hunting my local rivers for a while, and have hardly come up with a few mammoth teeth fragments. Heres to the 2025 fossil season!
It just depends on the condition. Some are just too far gone and will disintegrate into hundreds of pieces when you attempt to move them. I found a large part of a pelvis that was too far gone to move and many segments of tusk too far gone to move. They hold up as long as they remain buried or under water, but once they are exposed they don't tend to last long.
Its not far from the upriver source. Not so rounded on teh edges and just the small root tips missing. Good find. Im not sure how you preserve them, but We mix Elemers glue and hot water 50/50 and soak our teeth in that for a while then dry on a rack, maybe repeat. Dries clear and is water soluble, we have teeth from 30 years ago that are as good of shape as ones we pick up since then.

These are amazing finds! Where even is this?
How is it not more worn down by river erosion unless it's actually more recent if that's a giant molar?
