Nearly 30 yrs old and would still fill a floor as its utterly timeless. I was never a big fan of dance but this was and still is amazing!!!!! Top drawer chooooooooooon!!!!!!
I bought this the day it came out from Black Market Records in London... A week or so later I was playing this tune to hundreds of happy Israel's in a club in the port of Jaffa...
Damn, cant believe this is 20 years old. I have the music video on DVD, I need more of this artist. Warp Records has to be the best label for electronic music, and innovative music too.
This track will forever remind me of driving down the motorway near oxford September 1990 on our way to 'perception' which at the time was the biggest outdoor rave ever held in the uk,a beautiful late summers eve, happy days
NICE TEMPO! I was born then and remember my mate testing his new speakers with this track. AWESOME Doesn't matter how old you are When and where you were when you heard it A great track is always a great track! and does stuff to you that nothing else can do
I was 14 and would you believe it there was a station in Zimbabwe that used to play tracks like this every saturday...they dont produce great tracks like this anymore..
pff ras le bol sa s arrette pas ceux qui restent on les appellera bientôt vétérans ou survivant sa calme quand meme et on a perdu de sacrer artistes sans compter les ami(e)s..RIP ALL CHEPERZ & ARTISTZ...
Did you go to school in some country-arse hick town, like I did? Local yokels where I lived all listened to strictly Indy and nothing else. Couldn't even comprehend the concept of Electronic music, lol.
@Robert Muggridge 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I was running Pioneer components 3 x amps Sent the bass bins back Pioneer 3 times .. absolutely thrashed them.. what a fooking tune..
Back in the early 90's I worked at a bar called the Overdrive in Prince George BC. The club at 12 1000w JBL subs on the dancefloor. In total, there was over 15000w at the club. Just imagine this song played there. The building was all brick and it shook. Could hold 800 people in the club and when this song came on, people LEFT the dance floor. It was too much to take.
Circumstantial, 5 years study in London and no nightclubs Visage the Anvil . A student, Emad from Karachi Pakistan, shared the house at one stage, i played LFO LFO from a Now cassette compilation, and he said it was played at the nighrclub. Reload a collection of short stories.
2O years on - I was only 13 myself surrounded by a very hot summer in 1990, recording this off Bruno Brookes' radio 1 on a Sunday afternoon - my mum's fav Hitachi stereo - memories forever to be treasured. Cheers
Classic. I remember traveling from Fort Wayne to Chicago back in the day looking for some acid house and I walked into this record store and they said no they weren't seeing much of that anymore, but then they put this on. Blew me away. I couldn't even buy it. It was their store promo.
craig richards (imo best dj on planet) played this the other day to finish his set at sankeys ibiza, such a tune to finish a night! sometimes i wish i was born earlier and lived the 90s!
This track shows off the depth of my and many of my tru friends daily vocabulary, about this time, wicked stuff man, think my love for drum n bass came outta listening to tracks like this beaut.
I was 18 jears old when this track came out.was working as dj in a little smalltowndisco.my boss couldnt understand what was so fine at this one.funny,i love it today same as 21 jears ago.great tune.techno forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Coming up on this with the sun shining at dawn way back underneath a bridge at Anglesey, Wales. And the same at Glasto but slightly different obviously! Da best times - old skool rools!
I had 2 x 12 inch Orion sub woofers in a box in my car trunk pumpin this track out in 1990 on casette tape lol ... You could hear me comin down the street ... Booya!!
Acid house and hardcore in the UK had as much of a Detroit techno influence underpinning it as it did Chicago house; that's where you're hearing the electro vibe, for sure.
A huuuge tune from WARP (Sheffield). It was massive in all the techno rave clubs at the time (Jive Turkey, Techno City). I used to go into WARP Record shop and buy all my records at the time ;-)
Sweet, thanks for posting. And incidently, this track is the LW mix, so its the same tune, but at faster bpms. I used to spin back in the day, and I remember this little quirk. Awesome little find!
come on, come on, just buy it and you can listen speed you want! tribute to Marc Bell r.i.p. Christmas NO.1 !!! Where are the oldschoolers?! stay strong, keep it on!
remember going from plymouth to stoke on trent and back in a renault 18 turbo (c-reg) with this pumping coming down the m6 onto m5 at birmingham when i first heard this at 130mph, of course i went and got it,my love affair with techno and dance had already started,i was 22. ahh what a summer to.
So that's the sound of "Speak N Spell"! :O I have heard those sounds many times but didn't make the connection until now that i heard them in this song when some article referred to this song when speaking about that synth. :3
I remember when Steve Wright also played Pacific by 808 State in Nov 1989 - I was revising for my Mock GCSE's at the time, and just like LFO ... it was a moment that shaped my life.
When I hear this tune I immediately think of cannin tan east London Summer 1990 a track that really stood out amongst what was about this and renegade soundwave were groundbreaking for me northern techno versus London breakbeat love it
fuckkking the best shit ever i used to mix to this back in the day when i was a dj at pointers in ashton under lyne no longer there now top marks for playing this tune brings back so many memorys thnks
I E'd to this as the sun was coming up on a beach on Anglesey at a rave! The next time I heard this was when I finally arrived at Glastonbury at 5 am and just got into the rave marquee as this was playing, and then the rave was over! And just to make it almost seem as nostalgic, I'm writing this at 3 am. Just another old raver!

Early 90's dance music was sooooo good, shame current popular dance can't approach anything as good as this when current technologyy is so superior.
Nearly 30 yrs old and would still fill a floor as its utterly timeless.
I was never a big fan of dance but this was and still is amazing!!!!!
Top drawer chooooooooooon!!!!!!
Mark Bell- Ride in paradise. electronic music will never stop. best regards from germany !!!!!!!!!

I remember in middle school how my friends made fun of me for listening to this. Still a dope track!
They're dicks for not recogognising a well coordinated peice of music.
Did you go to school in some country-arse hick town, like I did? Local yokels where I lived all listened to strictly Indy and nothing else. Couldn't even comprehend the concept of Electronic music, lol.
I remember blowing my car speakers up with this choon...Damn bad ass bassline grrrrr lol
same, i recall the CD said they were not responsible for damage to speakers due to the super low frequencies used on this recording
Classic. I did the same in me poor Ma's car.

One of my all time faves, if I'm ever in that 'stuck on a desert island' situation this one's coming with me.
Back in the early 90's I worked at a bar called the Overdrive in Prince George BC.

This track was the explosion of early rave, sure... But it has also a feeling of electro. I mean, you can breakdance to this.
Acid house and hardcore in the UK had as much of a Detroit techno influence underpinning it as it did Chicago house; that's where you're hearing the electro vibe, for sure.
I think this is where Dusky gets their influence from hahaha
