Thank you for watching! ❤️ What summer fashion faux pas do you wish ladies would just STOP doing? To learn more about elegant style mistakes watch my next video 10 Things Elegant Ladies NEVER Wear: ua-cam.com/video/-TF0mxGZHKM/v-deo.html
Can you please make an elegant video for plus size women. We rarely wear booty shorts and bikinis and sports bras. What can elegant plus size women wear this summer, especially when some plus size women haven't gone swimsuit shopping in years. What looks appealing to you for a woman with my figure.
I think she has made a few video about it in the past. The titles were something along the lines of summer staples, looking classy in summer and elegant summer shoes. Hope this helps!
I am not rich but I TOTALLY agree with everything she said. I also don’t like cheap material… I prefer to save and buy good material rather than buy in primark that’s a No No.
You don't need to be rich to own good material. Instead of looking up brands, look up materials such as "cashmere blend sweater" or "satin/silk fit and flare dress", you'll find these things online somewhere for cheaper. Nobody is above a bargain.
I perfectly agree but I must say one thing in favour of primark items: they may be cheap but they don’t always look cheap! I teach English in companies and sometimes I teach CEOs and business men and women and I had a class the other week and I was teaching them adjectives to describe things and we started talking about clothes. I was wearing a pair of gorgeous trousers from Zara that were originally part of a suit and a linen shirt I had bought in primark. When they described the shirt they said it looked like it was good quality and elegant. I was VERY happy lol but it just goes to show that the trick is being selective and pairing cheaper items with items that are actually good quality! :)
Ahhhh the bikini bottom! When my mom saw this trend she said “that looks like the sanitary pad belt that women used to have to wear before they made pads with adhesive” and it changed my perspective IMMEDIATELY 😂
Everything influencers promote is for the mases. I always womdered why elegant&sophisticated ladies never wear what’s trending &always look flawless. It’s because they value authenticity, a clean, proper and fresh look above the trends. And so they make the difference. Very good tips! Plus: you are always very polite, I’ve never heard you insulting someone. You just give advice for women who WANT to elevate. If somebody dosen’t want it, it’s fine, not everyone enjoys the classics and elegance and it’s not an insult, it’s just a matter of preference. I don’t understand why people get so offended when you talk about average joe’s or being average cause it’s not an insult, it’s a fact: most poeple look/dress the same, that’s why you call it ‘average’. And you rarely see elegant/feminine women, that’s why you call them special. As simple as that. Hopefully one day we will surpass this era when everyone feels offended by everything.
I buy my clothes almost exclusively from ThredUp now because I can sort by fabric (and of course the prices). I get so tired finding a cute top, and then looking at the fabric content and being disappointed
There are different levels of polyester (I make couture dresses). There is €1 polyester and there is €80 per meter polyester. The fact that there is polyester in there doesn't make it bad per say. Polyester dries fast, good quality poly doesn't wrinkle... so it's often part of a blend. So in short: not all polyester looks cheap or feels cheap. Japan has a lot of these "tech fabrics" that are 100% synthetic and still feel like a true delight to wear and look very luxurious. Ideally you always "feel" a fabric first. If you like fabrics start looking at the labels to understand the composition, this way you know what to choose online.
Birkenstocks are good if someone like me has a flatfoot, bunion, and suffer from blisters always. I understand they don’t look pretty but help a lot honestly
YES! And back a long time ago in the 70's pads didn't have a sticky strip. You literally had to wear a belt to hold it in place. So that is exactly what this style of bikini looks like! LOL
I understand her points, but being classy doesn’t mean just expensive stuff. I love the way she dresses, but I also believe there are ways of achieving the same look with a lower budget. As not everyone can afford to spend the same amount of money. Expensive doesn’t always mean better (Yes, most of the time, but not always).
@@princessirulancorrino4695 Somebody gets it. Wealthy people are concerned with keeping their families secure and having access (education, healthcare, career opportunities, other wealthy people, etc.) that they can pass on to their heirs to ensure survival. The concept of "looking rich" only burdens people who want to be rich and aren't or want to be treated the way they think rich people are.
She’s recommending things that look high quality, not necessarily expensive. High quality can come in a wide range of price ranges. There are some very expensive poor quality clothes out there.
There’s a difference between class, and trash, and not look older. I am not saying that all young girls dress looking like trash (you should know what I mean). Less is more. General rule!!
Same it’s all about how the items fit and what they cover. Once I started wearing clothing that properly fit my waist, started wearing tops that showed off my collar bones without showing too much cleavage and started showing off my legs with bottoms that were only mid thigh short it all changed. I recommend looking into Korean/Japanese fashion, I usually go for the preppy school girl look which makes me look my age while still looking sophisticated. I mainly wear long sleeved tops that have a square neck, mock neck or boat neck and I pair them with a VERY SMALL dainty necklace. I’m always getting my clothing tailored which makes a HUGE difference, I only wear tops with a tight fit to accentuate my waist while my bottoms are usually loose. If you notice most “elegant” outfits that age you are very loose fitted specially when it comes to the top part of the body. Also when it comes to dresses or skirts they’re usually very long which also ages you a lot that’s why I go for mid thigh length.
keep your make up really simple and fresh and hair in a pretty but natural colour/ style. No one will mistake you for "older" just because of your clothes.
No hate, not offended, but you lost me a little on the phrase “no heterosexual man finds it attractive”. Personally, I truly don’t dress for the male gaze. Just saying.
@@mihaelajoe8291 maybe so but still her advices are good at least I find them helpful..the purposes might be different but still you'll learn self respect and self love here. And I think those videos were years ago her videos have evolved more to self improvement then finding a rich guy.
i think this is not related to her - she cannot set ads onto her videos, these are imposed by youtube depending on your region and type of content that is shared.
I’ve been following Anna for years now and she has completely improved my style. Dressing elegantly has improved the way I’m treated by others as well. Loved the video💗
Oh no I don’t think she has anything against high waisted items - she stresses often that the most elegant clothes is clothes that accentuates your natural feminine curves, so if that works for you (as it does for me) then you do you! (Notice also that lots of her ‘elegant’ clothing examples are high waisted items!) I think she just meant it particularly within the context of those shorts.
@@kuramacabre The example she showed goes higher than any possible waist. The best rise for my curves + high waist I’ve had on were jeans with a rise-level called Sky High. Another pair of high-waist trousers costed me about $150.
I know a lot of people might get bothered by her choices but I think she’s actually correct. I wear a lot of these myself and they are not feminine. I wear them for comfort which is like by nature the opposite of refined. She’s explaining what doesn’t look elegant so if you don’t care to look elegant then keep wearing it but in days you want to look elegant then I’d follow her advice 😊
Thank you Anna. I was an avid tomboy and I decided to dress more feminine when I found a bunch of your videos. For the first time in my life I own more dresses than jeans or shirts. My life has significantly changed, coupled with going to the gym and I feel beautiful and comfortable in dresses now and my self-esteem has greatly improved. For many of us, we need to go the extra mile to find our femininity after a long time of dressing like a boy. Thank you for all you do ❤️
The disclaimer 😅 that was me because initially a year ago I was getting offended. But today having taken on this elegant approach in my life, has saved me (not just with my appearance but mostly helping my self esteem and encouraging me to fulfil my potential..) so thank you :)
when i watch that video years ago, I was laughing so hard with my friends cos I totally agree everything Anna say. i was offended bcos i wore some of them and no wonder why I look frumpy lol. fast forward I learn about styling, and it change my wardrobe game tremendously. sometimes I do think maybe I'll never be that elegant but the truth is do whatever you can. no need to follow everything. we have to think about our lifestyle and culture. some things she said might not go along with us so we have be wiser to adjust on that area
Love this video, hilariously true. Totally agree. Don't care how many celebs wear these items, they don't ever look good. And for those who think elegance has to be expensive, not true. It was always a challenge finding elegant clothing pieces in fast fashion affordable stores before shopping pre-loved. Pre-loved has now elevated and increased my options. Only attracted to quality pieces, they definitely elevate ones look. Elegance is now very affordable! Thank you for this vid Anna.
Elegance for me is being kind. I recently discovered this channel and it has many well made videos truly, but I hope ladies out there don’t forget who they are inside. I became quite elegant a few years back when my boyfriend at the time influenced me to wear all these fancy and expensive stuff and I lost a sense of who I was inside. He would tell me when I was having a good time with my bestie joking around that my behaviour was indelicate and not appealing. It sucked the life out of me. I see that this channel provides good tips and Anna really know her stuff as she looks elegant and timeless in every video I’ve seen, but remember ladies (and gents) that you all are good enough just as you are. You are good enough just the way you look talk or behave as long as you’re kind and respectful. Period. Wishing health and happiness to all💜🌻btw I’m thinking of getting a pair of dead fish flip flops from wish like my bestie has because I feel laughter and confidence is far more attractive to ANY living human being than the shallow superficial and insecure person I once became because I learned to see so many “mistakes” in other human beings and myself😟
I'm suprized to see these days people wear cycling short as a pants. actually, I always use the cycling short under my skirt. I always though it's an underwear somehow 😂😂
I used to wear it under my skirt too but some cycling shorts are long and thick or dark so they could show through the skirt, its better to opt for spanx in a nude colour or any thin shape wear that also gives you a snatched look.
I used to live by these rules for the longest time, when I was younger I wouldn’t be caught dead in lots of styles, clothes, shoes. Just came across this channel and it made me smile to see her go over these same no-nos (and i had many many more). As the years passed by and I learned to accept myself just the way I am I started to relax. I am still picky and still like quality clothing, however I now don’t feel „less than“ if I decide to go to the supermarket in a pair of flip flops (no rubber ones though). In the end it’s about what we radiate, it’s our energy, and that can be so high value and elegant even in a simple t-Shirt. Still it’s a nice video to watch and I agree with most of her suggestions.
I love your comment. I have relaxed a lot too. Oddly makes me a bit happier to be free-er and too hard on myself. I do however like and agree with a lot of what she is saying
Anna you were spot on with every one of your points. I'm 61 now and I thank my lucky stars that my Italian mother instilled la bella figura in me from a young age and took me to seamstresses to have my clothes made. I instinctively understand fabric, cut, fit, drape and quality work.
this comment made me emotional lol! my great grandmother was form Amalfi and taught all of us the same. all the women in my family have an inherited sense of style from that woman. people are always surprised when I tell them I have my clothes altered to fit better!
And what’s wrong being plain? I don’t have time to put on make up every day and I prefer casual outfits to ellegant. This doesn’t mean I’m wearing flip flops and boyfriend jeans with loose t-shirts. I like vibrant colours and feminin clothes too, only that I prefer being comfortable.
Could not agree more, it should not be hard to be stylish, thank you for your channel we need more of this in this day and age. Good style elevates everyone!
I bought mid-length denim shorts & pair it with a button down shirt (like Anna is wearing in this video) along with a great pair of summery heels or loafers & I think it looks elegantly casual; not trashy or cheap looking. I wouldn’t wear it to a high end party but for an everyday look...yes.
Go with Shellac and you won't have to worry about that! Instantly dry and hardened after curing under the light! It's very affordable to get a set to use at home as well if regular pedicures at a salon aren't in your budget.
Maybe.. My absolute pet hate of all is when people wear flip flops with jeans.. I actually feel slightly triggered by it haha 😂 I have to calm down. It looks so bad. Like a baby step up from wearing no shoes at all.
I love Anna's suggestions: straight and simple. We're surrounded by fashion rules given by Influencers, models and magazines, set for their standards not mine. I always try to find what can enhance my shape, my natural curves, despite of trends. It's not easy but I believe that elegance is free from omologation ( and I think that some looks don't make even models more beautiful!).
I agree with you about plus size ladies wearing more fitted clothing. I'm plus size and when I stopped trying to cover my body with baggy I began receiving more compliments on my appearance. But more importantly, I like the way I look so much more. No more hiding!
Love the disclaimer lol. So many ladies misinterpret your content as snobbery. It's their own insecurities talking. You've never talked down to any style, merely expressed your personal opinions on what looks elegant.
I completely agree with your statement. This channel is for women who want to embrace their femininity and elegance. Not all women want that and that’s ok.
Yes on the small floral prints! I've been saying that when shopping for years and I always get looked at like I'm crazy. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who feels that way.
I agree. They literally scream “oasis” or “top shop” - it’s not that I have anything against the stores that I have just mentioned, my point is that they will always looks cheap.
When you said that every type of garment has its appropriate time, I smiled and applauded! This is so wise and I really think that its one of your keys to elegance - knowing the appropriate time and place for everything. What's appropriate or not appropriate enters into all aspects of your social/business/networking life. Thank you for reminding us to stay on our game in all seasons.
I've rarely been inclined toward more revealing types of clothing. And when I decided years ago to revamp my whole wardrobe (I went from mostly jeans and T-shirts, to almost always skirts with the occasional palazzo pants in warmer months), I became more conscious of how clothing fits. Camisoles and thin tanks are great for layering under tops that reveal more cleavage than I'd like, and shapewear creates a smoother look under thinner fabrics. Having a more 'put-together' look just seems more challenging for many in summer, with casual fast fashion dominating the stores within many of our budgets. But it can be done, and it boosts my confidence when I can do it.
oh it triggers people terribly... sound advice of any type triggers people, then they get upset they get the same results without changing anything lol.
@MaquebyMila while I agree I don’t like to dress provocatively I don’t think every girl wearing stuff like that want Men’s attention. Sometimes they want to feel sexy (for themselves) or it’s very hot outside. Not for me but some people are more “showing” because that’s their style and not for male attention. Although some times it is for male attention 🤷🏻♀️ depends
One thread that goes through your channel and I haven’t heard mentioned explicitly is modesty. It’s very elegant to cover certain things. Typically a man would need to prove himself in order to see certain parts of us or a lot of us all at once, often in marriage and becoming our provider. It’s a feminine power that we give away too easily nowadays.
Fair point. I don't care about political correctness; when I see a scantily clad female (especially if cosmetics or other accoutrements are exaggerated) my first thoughts *are not* "dignified", "refined", "self-respecting", or "hard to get". That's just the reality of it.
Everything that on Anna's list are in my city every summer, every second girl 😂 Also I personally gave up wearing any blue jeans during all summer season, replaced them with skirts only or linen, cotton pants. It works, cause you feel you body breathe finally, there is no need to wear jeans all year long, especially skinny 😂
I think you should take about , fine dining outfit ,cos I see women wearing club dresses to Michelin restaurants . Even to some membership club , I wish restaurants should be more strict with their dressing code
i so agree with you. It often ends with me feeling overdressed because I am the only person to wear appropriate dresses/outfits. often happened , especially in my home country germany.
I've always thought the drawstring thong bikinis looked like a pad - horrible! And the "rompers" give you a gross look, too! I'm in agreement with every single thing you said, Anna. Brilliant video and perfect timing!
Anna I wish you just open your own clothing brand, I like anything you wear and I can never find clothes that look good like yours. Ik if you makes your own clothing brand, many people will buy from it.
...and yet she will never ever go to that person and say "I'm disgusted by your bikini" because she knows is her personal opinion. But people DO come here and tell her she's wrong.
@@MariaRei well duh 🙄 she’s putting a video out for people to watch. surprise surprise: people are watching and commenting on it. she can turn comments off if she doesn’t want em
Your humor is even elegant 🤣I have been waiting for someone to say something about the shorts but above all the bikini ❤️thank you for being the best 🇸🇪you make my day❤️🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
Living in Australia, I find the most breathable/cooling summer clothes are generally made of linen (a lifesaver; it's so hard to be sweaty in it thanks to its evaporative properties), a lighter colour (reflects the sunlight) and somehow drapey (as fitted clothes trap in heat more). Dresses/skirts are much more cooling than shorts/trousers as they allow air to circulate a lot more, and they're also amazing for a more elegant style. Ever since I transitioned to dressing with these guidelines, I've found the summer heat to be so much more bearable
With solid neutral classics, you can wear them more often bc no one will notice if you recently wore it, and it's easy to mix and match thus making it faster and easier to get ready and out the door.
I appreciate the critique and biting humor, but I was so triggered by the cotton fabric hate! 🤣 High quality cotton looks amazing. The type of fabric described for those play suits generally looks cheap because it's a cotton/polyester blend, or a poor quality rayon.
I really love to wear cotton, actually! Is more comfortable and more natural. My skin feels better with it too - as i have skin prone to have acne. But i must confess that this channel gives very interesting tips on how to wear good! I am learning a lot with it! Thanks!
@@fairydust950 why please don’t wear them anywhere i just wish people stop bringing their dogs everywhere even in children’s park and supermarket touching food, that would be better but i don’t care if someone wear flip flops 🩴
Yes! In my case more specifically big breasts but narrow waist and hips - I searched across yt for any tips, but if I find anything it is mostly for plus size/curvy woman. And ideally sth that does not aim at highlighting breasts (so rather not too feminine), because it is not really elegant, especially in daytime.
Yes! Sometimes when I try to cover them with a loose top it just completely hides my hour glass shape so maybe something tight but with a higher neckline a bit
@@nataliawalczak674 I wouldn't see anything wrong with wearing loose top and high waisted trousers or skirt if the top doesn't show too much cleavage. It still shows your beautiful figure 🙂
I would recommend getting your clothes professionally tailored to your frame so you can have items that accentuate your waist and fit over your bust correctly.
Regarding the T-shirt, I absolutely agree with you, so this time last year I would have thought it ridiculous! I have naturally gravitated away from T-shirts as my style is becoming more refined and personalized. I do still on them, but they have moved to my loungewear selection. I have been gravitating toward short sleeved blouses and other styles of tops instead and haven’t regretted it or missed my T-shirts at all! I have also stopped shopping through larger sizes; going more for a fitted to a very slightly oversized look. I used to buy all kinds of oversized shirts and do the French talk until I realized it is just more casual than I would like to dress and often a bit too high maintenance
Dear Anna, I am very grateful for your videos. I started watching them when I enrolled in medical school 3 years ago. I wanted to present myself in a way that would invoke confidence. I am tired of the narrative that masculinity is the only way to be taken seriously in science and academia. As a short hispanic woman with a baby face, it is very difficult to be taken seriously. I have had patients ask me point-blank how old I am; questioning if I am qualified to be part of the healthcare team. Thank you for giving me the motivation to go that extra step. You have inspired me to become the best version of myself. My dream is to be the elegant, competent, feminine doctor future students can look up to. I want to be a leader in my field who is strengthened by her femininity and self care. Your videos remind me that this future is possible.
I‘m so happy you called out the high-waisted bikini bottom with the draw-string, and your reaction to it. I couldn’t agree more! They look so incredibly tacky, I can’t stand them. To me, they always look like a desperate call for attention or validation from men. But us ladies don‘t need to show off our entire body. An average Joe might be attracted to such a woman (and maybe only for a night), but a quality man wants a woman’s body all to himself - and not put on a silver platter for everyone at the beach to look at.
@@anfeltiffa5486 They're very comfortable for work, specially for those in jobs that require a lot of walking like in the healthcare jobs. But outside of that, they don't look that good imo. But I understand why people love them^^
While I would never call the Birkenstock elegant, it's one of the few shoes that fit my super wide feet. So I always own a pair, though I chose more feminine styles. And I don't wear them when I need to look elegant. Not everyone needs to dress elegantly all the time. There's a place for Birkenstocks, for oversize t-shirts, for almost everything on Anna's list. The true elegant woman knows when it matters and the messages her clothing projects. She chooses what to wear based on the details of every occasion. If she's going on a hike, she might wear a t-shirt and jeans shorts. If her partner likes thong bikinis, she might wear one to please him.
I am only here for the evolution of Anna's humour. I love how she loosened up with time. Ps. The only thing I love from this video is flip flops. I wear them everywhere and kick them off when I see grass😍😂 haha
I've just stumbled upon your channel and I absolutely love your content! This video has motivated me to have a wardrobe clear out as I've been wanting to replace some of my clothes with more elegant and modest ones
I already don’t wear t-shirts or graphic tees (I stopped wearing those my senior year in high school), I wouldn’t dare wear flip flops, I rarely wear Jean shorts… I think I’m off to a good start. 😅 ladies you just have to take pride in yourself for me dressing up makes me happy and I always end up having a good day when I do. It makes me feel empowered and confident.
I feel that the advice applies to age. A younger person could rock these styling tips, but do not apply to someone who is necessarily older. And everything depends on the occasion, and someone’s essence and personal style. Like someone who is very bohemian can rock the florals.
Your point is self-contradicting. You say "a younger person" and "someone who is very bohemian"; neither of which are elegant - which IS the point of her video series.
I was thinking this. The things she lists are completely appropriate for a younger age. It would be weird if an 18 year old threw out her band tshirts and cycling shorts and decided to wear only slacks and blouses
i love the 70s ...I love the flowy dresses. The feeling of dresses when you twirl around. Some clothes make you look older. The way she wears is when I have to be at work.....lol. Enjoy life. Wear what makes you feel happy. We already have work "uniforms" and dresscodes.
Do you want to look average, or elegant? You can be comfortable with either style, if you understand the concept of quality basics over trashy trends. Age doesn't have much to do with this. One can be classy and elegant at any age. Or one can be ordinary and unremarkable at any age. The key is knowledge, planning and effort
Agreed. Though I do like the dresses with little flowers. They remind me of what I wore as a little girl. Maybe not elegant, but a comfortable memory feeling. Sometimes I need that. It makes me smile. 😊
I feel like we are getting to a conclusion that “ being elegant is by being modest” and I’m following this rule for my whole life. Its not about a culture or religion rules, it’s about being an elegant and respected lady. Less is more! Thanks for these amazing videos💕
Definitely, looking and acting ladylike is something most people have just thrown away, but it’s always been my priority. Modesty is a huge part of a ladylike, elegant look.
You’re so right I was thinking the same thing about all those items, they just look like cheap fashion items and I don’t think anyone should wear them because it’s so much more pleasing to wear clothes that makes you look like you care about making yourself feel that you are worthy of feeling expensive
There were some that I agreed with, and some I didn't agree with. Even though 'elegance' is only one of the many styles I like wearing, I wasn't offended by any of these points. I still enjoy watching this channel about elegance - it is something I have recently become interested in learning about. 🙏👍
Oh Anna, I TOTALLY agree with you. I’m tolerant: when I see someone wearing one of those items I just think “ok, everybody is free to wear what he/she wants and that’s fine”. But those garments (excepted the T-shirts that I wear to chill at home alone 😁) are not for me. I’m convinced that it is possible to find beautiful, good quality and yet affordable clothes.
I really dislike the romper/playsuit! If you have to use the bathroom, you have to basically get undressed, plus, it just reminds me of a toddler in a onesie.
I’m still surprised it became a fashion trend. It looks fine on teenagers and children but I’ve rarely seen any designed well for women...well that and I’ve definitely had to divert my eyes down if someone on stairs or an escalator is above me 😳
Anna! Thank you for making my elegance journey so enjoyable, for bringing so much laughter and humor! That’s the point right- to enjoy :) I used to be attracted to some of these items because it was common and available (I grew up in the US). Thanks for your opinion, love being on the same team with you ❤
Me too. I used to dress quite elegant in my late 20s. The one thing I will stick to are bicycle shorts though: I wear them under dresses and skirts. This way I worry less about wind and how I sit down, and in fact my main commuting vehicle is a bike, so they give that extra safety and comfort.
Thank you! I agree re: all the cheap styles. I always used to avoid florals of all kinds until I had my colors done by an Emmy Award-winning costume designer in Hollywood (David Zyla), and he advised me to have just a bit of print in most of my outfits (for my fresh style personality). The choices were small, rounded, complete florals or small, edgy, round fruit prints. As long as I coordinate with the other piece in a matching color, it's regal enough. I think the issue you're discussing is the super dense florals, correct? Thanks!

Well, the kardashians have a ton of money for sure, but they dress very trampy and Anna is teaching us not to look like that.

Yeah most people don’t want to spend more than $5 on clothes so everything is cheap poly cause that’s all that sells really.
Even in expensive clothes.
Try Club Monaco, Massimo Dutti or Banana Republic. ☺️
This culture of being offended for everything is so very sad.

YES! And back a long time ago in the 70's pads didn't have a sticky strip. You literally had to wear a belt to hold it in place. So that is exactly what this style of bikini looks like! LOL
it is really the ugliest trend
Ahh yes the 70s and prior....it was called a “sanitary belt” ....you can google it...
She is so obsessed with money and luxury brands its pathetic.

@@princessirulancorrino4695 Somebody gets it. Wealthy people are concerned with keeping their families secure and having access (education, healthcare, career opportunities, other wealthy people, etc.) that they can pass on to their heirs to ensure survival. She’s recommending things that look high quality, not necessarily expensive. High quality can come in a wide range of price ranges. There are some very expensive poor quality clothes out there.
Can you do a “how to dress elegant and yet still youthful” - I’m 24 and I find that dressing elegant ages me
THIS!! such a good point
I ran into this problem as well. I recommend the modern preppy style with lots of colors and frill/flounce to still achieve a feminine look.
keep your make up really simple and fresh and hair in a pretty but natural colour/ style. No one will mistake you for "older" just because of your clothes.
No hate, not offended, but you lost me a little on the phrase “no heterosexual man finds it attractive”. Personally, I truly don’t dress for the male gaze. Just saying.
Some women do tho .. You (& I) are in the 20% that dont dress for men's approval. 😂

I’ve been following Anna for years now and she has completely improved my style. Dressing elegantly has improved the way I’m treated by others as well. Loved the video💗
Anna: “nothing high waisted”
dawg i’m not built to wear anything that’s not high waisted…
Oh no I don’t think she has anything against high waisted items - she stresses often that the most elegant clothes is clothes that accentuates your natural feminine curves, so if that works for you (as it does for me) then you do you! (Notice also that lots of her ‘elegant’ clothing examples are high waisted items!) I think she just meant it particularly within the context of those shorts.

Me too! I used to wear them under skirts when I was in school.
Me too I think they only make sense under your clothes or if you are working out
I used to wear it under my skirt too but some cycling shorts are long and thick or dark so they could show through the skirt, its better to opt for spanx in a nude colour or any thin shape wear that also gives you a snatched look.
I follow her so much I almost completely changed my wardrobe and I love my new wardrobe ❤

I live in Florida where it's always hot. I'm saved by long sundresses, and linen clothing.
Regarding the T-shirt, I absolutely agree with you, so this time last year I would have thought it ridiculous! I have naturally gravitated away from T-shirts as my style is becoming more refined and personalized. I do still on them, but they have moved to my loungewear selection. I have had patients ask me point-blank how old I am; questioning if I am qualified to be part of the healthcare team. Thank you for giving me the motivation to go that extra step. You have inspired me to become the best version of myself. My dream is to be the elegant, competent, feminine doctor future students can look up to.
Rubber flip flops are home shoes for me. They're after-the-shower slippers so I wouldn't dare wear them outside.
Yes! That is the only reason I use flip flops and only see them as indoor shoes.
i agree with you, as a brazilian where havaianas come from, people here uses even in the universities, in cities near beach. i find funny.
Same. I'll wear them at the pool (that concrete can get burning hot), but otherwise they're just for comfort at home when it's too warm for socks.
They are my pedicure flip flops
They used to be mine too. One day I slipped on wet floor.......Ladies, be careful ❤
Anna is more lively and funny on this video. I love the vibe! Learning so much from you. Thank you for making these educational videos. ❤
@@ANDJELINA lmfao so true haha
Do you want to look average, or elegant? You can be comfortable with either style, if you understand the concept of quality basics over trashy trends. Age doesn't have much to do with this. One can be classy and elegant at any age. Or one can be ordinary and unremarkable at any age. The key is knowledge, planning and effort
YESSSSS FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT
Oh gosh Anna is on another level she is glowing 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥.... Even her sense of style is just wow😍😍❤️
Agreed. Though I do like the dresses with little flowers. They remind me of what I wore as a little girl. Maybe not elegant, but a comfortable memory feeling. Sometimes I need that. It makes me smile. 😊
What gets to me is that high street brands are charging an arm and a leg for 100 percent polyester garments
Yes, you’re correct in that. So what I do is buy fewer things but I make them high quality and only natural fabrics.
Anna your funny and bubbly personality has really been coming through in recent videos and we ARE HERE FOR IT 💗 Baci!
Finally someone addresses how granola birkenstocks look
Not my birckenstocks 😭😂
HAHAHH granola
And they're so expensive for what? 😭
I've always hated Birkenstocks, wore them when I was pregnant and never again now!
But they're so comfy thougj🤦🏼♀️
I feel like we are getting to a conclusion that “ being elegant is by being modest” and I’m following this rule for my whole life. Its not about a culture or religion rules, it’s about being an elegant and respected lady. Less is more! Thanks for these amazing videos💕
Definitely, looking and acting ladylike is something most people have just thrown away, but it’s always been my priority. Modesty is a huge part of a ladylike, elegant look.
♡ right ♡
Absolutely truthful! I don't know when ladies decided to downgrade themselves.
You’re so right I was thinking the same thing about all those items, they just look like cheap fashion items and I don’t think anyone should wear them because it’s so much more pleasing to wear clothes that makes you look like you care about making yourself feel that you are worthy of feeling expensive
Bottom line: If you see 7 year old girls wearing the same thing you are wearing...don't wear it ever again!
Underrated Comment 🙌🙌
You are right!
why??
Except kids these days get dressed as mini adults, so the line is kinda blurry
The jean shorts are only cute on teens and early 20s girls.
Sam Edelman makes an affordable dupe of the Hermes sandal.
Yes! the Sam Edelman sandals!
A lot of these tips only really apply to women in their later 20’s and 30’s maybe even 40’s
On thin teens and early 20s girls. Look at my other comment
“My Dear Elegant Ladies” is the biggest hype! Love you Ana!
I wore my first elegant, yet casual summer outfit yesterday and got so many compliments! I love these videos. ❤️
I'm so happy for you
I really dislike the romper/playsuit! If you have to use the bathroom, you have to basically get undressed, plus, it just reminds me of a toddler in a onesie.
I’m still surprised it became a fashion trend. It looks fine on teenagers and children but I’ve rarely seen any designed well for women...well that and I’ve definitely had to divert my eyes down if someone on stairs or an escalator is above me 😳
The romper/s look fine (super cute) only on toddlers!
Anna! Thank you for making my elegance journey so enjoyable, for bringing so much laughter and humor! That’s the point right- to enjoy :) I used to be attracted to some of these items because it was common and available (I grew up in the US). Thanks for your opinion, love being on the same team with you ❤
I agree with all of this advice and realizing I may have more natural elegance than I thought
Same her Alyssa😅
Me too. I used to dress quite elegant in my late 20s.
The one thing I will stick to are bicycle shorts though: I wear them under dresses and skirts. This way I worry less about wind and how I sit down, and in fact my main commuting vehicle is a bike, so they give that extra safety and comfort.
Anna your "trigger warning" has me really laughing out loud LOL!
I agree 😁😂
Seems like it needs to be done these days even for harmless fashion advice 😅😅
@@monikathomas4985 lmao 🤣 I agree! Just to be on the safe side 😆
"We live in a time where many people get offended for absolutely everything" 😂😂😂 true!
says the woman who takes offence over what other women choose to wear
Says the woman who says, "I feel disgusted everytime I look at them"
@@magandaako5341 that is called a personal opinion lol
@@nancysiciliana3387 when did that happen? she literally just stated facts lol. i 100% agree with everything she said.
@@thisbarbieisbored that means she's not an influencer. An Opinionist, yes
Thanks!
