It's a good day when Cross Adventuring puts up an awesome video! Perfect timing for the lunch break! Looked like you guys finally had a dry ride with some sunshine. Thanks for bringing us along. May be getting up that way this summer to do the last bit of the MABDR and some of the NEBDR.
Love that Colton Point Campground. I need to get back there in 2024. Sizerville, on the other hand, is so deceptive. You snake back through the trees like you’re headed into the wilderness. Then you arrive to find that if a car loses control on 155, you better not be in it’s path. I think this is proven by the road noise I heard while you were talking there. Pristine park, though. Thanks for sharing. I think I need to start giving my video clips to you to do my editing. LOL. 😂
I never eat at Sizlerville after dark. Too many bears! I eat in town in the evening at the grocery store. Camping at the “walk in” sites along the creek is a nice experience.
That would be nice since some viewers (like me) would like to do adventure like yours! Thanks in advance. We our cold weather all we could do is watch fair-weather videos like yours!
Another good video in your series, with interesting geography and conversations. Nice to see your pleasant autumn colors. Was it easy to fix your draggiung brake? Is this area in deep-freeze now?
Thanks! Mike here; I wasn't able to fix the brake while on the road, because it was internal to the hub. The bushing where the arm goes from the linkage to the drums had built up corrosion and was getting too tight. I had to clean it up and lube it, then it worked like new. For the remainder of the trip I had to keep lifting up the brake lever to get it freed up while riding. Luckily the wear on the shoes was minimal and they didn't need replaced. Yep, that whole area is under snow and ice now!
I thought that was your brake-dragging issue. Glad you fixed it, Mike. I had the same TW 200 problem at about 12,000 miles. Southern Oregon has rain and lows in the 40s this week...you may get more snow when this storm drifts easterly, I imagine. I always enjoy your posts because of the scenery, upbeat banter, and a chance too see how you lash your camping gear.
Hey, thanks for joining us! We use Tackform mounts. They are machined from aluminum and are rock-steady. Tambra uses a silicone band on hers, to be safe, but I (Mike) don't bother, and I've never had a phone pop out of it, even in technical stuff.
We did a partial list on our Christmas Wish List video last year, but there are quite a few things we left off the list. One was our Exped Outer Space III tent. We found it on closeout at REI, but it appears to be still available from other sources. Our chairs are Sportneer: amzn.to/4ewNi5m They are pretty inexpensive, but other than losing the feet off the bottom, they've held up amazingly well. The stove we use is an MSR Whisperlite liquid fuel stove: amzn.to/3XVDAUP We chose a liquid fuel stove that burns gasoline, figuring since we travel on bikes, we always have the fuel. Tambra loves this little fire starter tool: amzn.to/4eiDso5 We use a Klymit Insulated Static V sleep pad (Tambra) amzn.to/4djoJIq and a Kilos Gear insulated sleep pad (Mike) kilosgear.com/products/sleeping-pads Our sleeping bags can vary depending on the weather. For light, we love those little solar-powered Luci Lites amzn.to/4ekbMiS We also take along a folding table that we got from Sportsman's Warehouse www.sportsmans.com/camping-gear-supplies/camp-furniture/tables/sportsmans-warehouse-ultralight-portable-camp-table/p/1693779 That should cover most of it!
Hey guys that’s just awesome ❤️🙏🏻✌️👍💪🏻☮️
Thank you for taking the time to put this together and posting. Went perfect with my morning cup of coffee. Great riding.🤠
Glad we could join you for your morning coffee!
That was a really enjoyable video, lots of great scenery for sure.
Nicely done! Looks like a great route!!!

Chris, if you do get up here, hop the CPAAT and head west a bit and ride with us in the ANF!

Tambra here...yeah, the road was right there, but so were the coyotes that night! Crazy how close they came to the sites!

I envy you two; that looks like way too much fun!
Man, get yourself a dual sport and come join us!
Been waiting for this next episode! Great trip.
Thanks for your patience! Stay tuned for the final leg...
Thumbs Up......Ride Safe !
Wow! Nice to see a new video and talking about the tw200 mod (briefly). Keep them coming pkease!
Thank you! Should we do a walkaround and explain all the little mods on the TWs?

Sometimes that gate is open but we always went around it when it wasn't but if you had to take the road you don't miss much...
I believe the ranger told us it's open until Labor Day. But going around a closed gate makes us feel like rebels. :)
LOL If you come from the other way that is the only gate so I don't get why that even have it really ... @@CrossAdventuring

It always pays to mark the location of convenient Laundromats on your route map. Riding wet gets miserable after a while!
Ive watched a lot if your videos & went back through trying to see what phone mounts y'all use. They look pretty stable.

@@CrossAdventuring great thanks for the response. Keep the content coming
Mike, Have you ever checked out Rustoleum's Neverwet? I'll bet it would be great for your seat covers.
No, but perhaps it's something we need to check into...
Absolutely the best product of it's kind I've ever used. I wish I had it, when I was in the military.
What camping gear are you using? Tent, chair, etc.

She is talking too much. People don't click on videos like this to hear about her family events. Verbosity on display.
