It’s been very hot, close to 100 degrees this past few days in NJ! I just passed the driver class with LLV and will go tomorrow to train on the Pro Master.
Good tips thanks im going to orientation on monday my major concern is that the sun out here in florida but i already work driving the step vans in amazon so let’s see how this one is I don’t think will be harder
Congratulations Amanda! You're on your way! Don't get flustered or too stressed, deal with it the best you can. Don't get caught up on being really good or fast or knowing everything, in time you'll get better and more proficient.
Congratulations Alexandria! But be careful with the dogs because I started working with the USPS on February 22 but two months later a dog bite me. Just watch out for the dogs
How long should I wait to try and transfer to a station in state but 3 hours away? I want to try and get a house in that area. I was looking into getting a house made that will take 8 months or maybe just purchase one already made. I was also thinking purchasing a condo in my area stay put for 2 years then trying to transfer. When I move rent the condo out.
imo the "3 pocket shirt jac" keeps me cooler than the knit polo type shirt, probably due to the better air flow being its kind of baggy and probably the material...it seems to wick away sweat better
Hi Mike, should I pack my lunch while on my route heavy or light ? It is 90 degrees or more here in southern California . I thought light and snack in between but mostly water will be the biggest thing and knowing where to use the bathroom.
I normally pack light, and you hit it on the head about water being most important. Some days I don't feel like a lot for lunch or snack and then other days I'm super hungry. Better to have more than less I'd say.
I am an RCA in Arizona. I wear long sleeves and pants everyday. The sweat wicks onto the shirt and helps cool me down and helps reducing the amount I sweat. Also the shirt is SPF 50+ so it helps in that way too
It's evaporative cooling basics. It's like taking a warm water bottle and putting it into a wet sock and hanging it outside. Evaporative cooling will cool off the water bottle.
@@thethirdseashell that's awesome! I do something similar to get a cold soda or energy drink, I'll wet a paper towel and wrap it around the soda and stick it in the freezer.
Regulars are "guaranteed" 2 days off UNLESS work needs are necessary. Which just means that if you're the lowest seniority regular and they don't have any CCAs then you get the crap end and have to work but in general yes you'll get 2 days off a week. Days off alternate, every 5 weeks you get Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off. Other than that it alternates Sunday and Monday, then Sunday Tuesday, Sunday Wednesday, etc.
Hi! Thanks for the video! I have a question! After I was 3 months out for a Dig Bite I will go back to work on Saturday July 24. Do you thing I pass the probation? Because Before the Dog Bite incident I was 2 months old working in the USPS but when I got out on disability I was on Continuation of pay. What do you think?
Hey boss, got my orientation set for July 17th as a CCA, currently consuming your catalogue as quickly as possible. Wondering if you have one tip you would give above any other. Many thanks, appreciate the knowledge.
I appreciate you watching. If everyone heard nothing else but 1 thing I say it would be to stick it out no matter what and don't quit. People get caught up on what they don't learn and what they think they're not learning quick enough but everyone has been there, it takes time to get fast and proficient. Congrats by the way. Don't quit, it's rough in the beginning but CCAs are what runs the Post office so don't forget that.
Hi Mike . I have been watching videos to prepare myself for my orientation that is coming up and about 90 percent of them have negative stuff to say about being a carrier, the only pro is the pay everything else is terrible. I mean the cons varies from training to management to timing I mean it's endless . makes me a little hesitant but at the same time being in health care for about 9 years . I see it as if the usps likes me great awesome if they don't and end up letting me go that's okay too. I have seen enough dying and dead people to know that if it doesn't work out with usps , that it's okay . I want the job alot more than I need the job. I also don't have kids, that allows alot more flexibility in my life. What I am asking you is, why do so many people within the USPS let these factors get under there skin when there are so many worse things people go through and are going through ?
Great question and I'm really glad you realize that. It all comes down to how strong someone is and committed. Some allow others to get to them and effect their jobs and others can block all of that out and stick through it. Honestly, that's the biggest reason I started videos because I saw so many negative ones out there that were giving an outlook on being a CCA is so bad and that's not the case. It pays off and can be so much easier then everyone thinks. Bottom line is you succeed if you want to, it doesn't depend on what someone else is doing or how they effect you. I'm rambling but I can literally be on this subject forever. Email me if you want me to get back quicker.
I was going to make a video of that but staying dry is really hard even with all the proper rain gear but the key is to be as comfortable as you can while being wet. Personally once a tiny bit of my sick gets wet is all over for me, all my rain gear except my hat comes off and I'm all in on getting wet. I use to change socks and clothes but only do that if it stops raining.
If you get wet then the mail is getting wet, you can try and protect it the best you can in any type of way but there's really no use other then to be speedy about it.
Look to see who your local vendor is cause sometimes they'll give you deals, throw in free stuff, and give you extra money. If you don't find one then get back to me.
Thank you for the shout-out 👌🏼
I told you I would.

Hip pocket class. I haven't heard that term since my days in the Corps. Semper Fi.
