A couple things can happen. The locks on those deposit boxes outside of the post office are easily picked for an experienced picker. The keys more or less are the same so if you get one key you have them all. Additionally as mail is being transported many times gift cards especially at holidays are stolen by postal transporters not necessarily employees of the post office but contract carriers. That's just touching the surface.
It may not be government ploys. But it also may. You don’t think someone can’t just go and pick the lock on the blue USPS mailbox? There are tutorials all over UA-cam on how to pick every type of lock. You shouldn’t just think your gut feeling is anything other than some thing you pull out of your gut, and you know what happens everything in your gut, it filters through your colon and out your butt.b
If you're shipping something valuable, put a AirTag in it and then have the person send it back to you once they receive the package or gift. At least you'll know where it was when it was stolen.
How about the check cashing firm calls police when the criminal shows up? I was worried when my tax returns were mailed almost 2 weeks before and had not received a receipt. It would take me one hour to reach the state tax offices, so my forms that were handed directly to a post office clerk should have been received within 2-3 days. I finally got my receipt on the third week. It's a shame that I would have any reason to worry, but that's where we are. LOCK THEM UP FOR A LONG TIME!!
Since you have the ID of the woman trying to cash the check, have you been able to determine if she’s a postal employee or related to someone working in the postal system? Also, does she have a criminal background? Have you checked her Fb or social media pages? That is where I would start.
Why have police not arrested this person yet? You have her license? But yet the police are on this? Yeah where are the postal inspectors? Criminals? Maybe postal workers. No way this does not point to an inside job.
It’s also happening in Atlanta too. And it’s not only the blue boxes. It’s happening inside because the outside boxes have been removed. This has been going on for about 3 years yet the USPS doesn’t investigate. My husband is out for over $1000 because his bank won’t even help him. It’s inside the usps system now. The group has infiltrated the system by gett8ng jobs inside. We’ve watched this for years now.

I wouldn’t ship a bag of dirt with the US postal service. I’m not a Trump fan, but if he gets re-elected I say the Postal service gets privatized and you’ll see a mass exodus of employees either voluntarily or get laid off.
I remember when certain jobs were coveted positions and you had to really compete for them. Not just the postal service but several other places too that paid well with good benefits. Now they evidently hire just anyone. Even in one of the other small towns next to us, the post office can’t seem to deliver mail right. I’ve also noticed at our little post office, all of the employees I used to recognize are never there. Not sure if they retired or what. But the ones I always trusted I haven’t seen in months. Same at the banks. I know some have reached retirement age at the bank but even the younger people I knew aren’t there. What’s up with this?
wonder if anyone's brave enough to do a race based analyst on these thefts . IE comparing all white facilities with POC ones. I live in a main Mail Hub drop off area for a mail carrier and they have never had any thefts that were ever reported in the local paper. been reading that fer everyday for the last 35 years.
