I have a 2019 model so you’re starting to scare me but did they tell you why all those engine failures happened and is there anything to prevent it because mine‘s already out of warranty?
Wow I have a 2021 and those are some scary issues. This is the bike I have always wanted since it came out in 2018. The engine problems are scary and the aftermarket sounds annoying too smh. I don’t like have nagging issues like that with anything so now idk, this was such a big investment too 🤦🏻♂️
I honestly worry about you having these issues. I honestly just got the 1 in a million that just kept having problems. But they seem to be all gone now!
I’m about to buy one did anyone at Harley explane as to why you had these problems? And do you think a stage 3 upgrade to a 117 would resolve this issue?
I really think my issues were just really unlucky events. I think when my tappets and lifters cracked, those out the metal into the engine causing the second failure. The. The comp failed, throwing off the drive shaft, causing the 4th issue again. The comp is really the only thing I constantly see issues with. An upgraded comp is probably the best thing to do with the money
I have the long stem mirrors from Harley. I liked the look of them, just inverted them. Had to go with the long stem in stead of stock so they don’t hit the tank.
HAD to trade it in 😅 super long story. Please feel free to go down the rabbit hole of my bikes 😂 here’s a good summary though ua-cam.com/video/CrehsfiuiCU/v-deo.html
For a 1 year review, this was more like a sales advertisement, it would have nice to address maintenance, reliability, issues, adjustments, recommended upgrades & modifications and why. Sorry
That’s why i bought one because it looks different from all the other Harleys and has that muscle bike look
Good video. The engine problems you’ve had is nuts. Glad to see you’re still on it and digging the bike.
I've heard this before . . . about metal shards being found throughout M8 engines. Not very confidence inspiring.
Hi, UK Fat Bob 114 owner, (15k without issues) would love to know where you got the orange speedo trim?
a blown engine and a blown primary within 1 year of ownership? wtf?? O_O. that is not very reassuring- even with a warranty
Where did you get the trim for speedo (red) please message me
I actually ended up making it myself.

The first thing i was asked to do is to put in a better compensator. I went with star racing

@@FatBoyBob thanks for the reply much appreciated dude!
Sometimes, just get a lemon😟 I’ve got 2 M-8 engines now, not one issue!🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
I have a 2018 fat bob with 10,000 miles on it. The bike still runs strong, and can I ask what mirrors do you have?
I have the long stem mirrors from Harley. I liked the look of them, just inverted them. Had to go with the long stem in stead of stock so they don’t hit the tank.
I am staggered you still like the bike after all those serious problems. I love the bike but wouldn't go near one.
Hi, did u get a new engine number on a new engine? I got a new engine as well but same engine number.. thanks
I also got the same engine number. They are matched to the vin number. That’s why.
@@FatBoyBob thanks! Ride safe
Can u please post the like for handlebar riser
Those are just stock risers
Really good review mate cheers for that but was there any reason for so many catastrophic failures ???
I love my fatbob. 14,000 miles. No problems. I'd love to have a bigger tank. Would a Fatboy tank fit?
Fat boy tanks fit. I’ve also seen people do LRS tanks
I still love the fat bob !! So do you still have it or did you trade for the road king ?
HAD to trade it in 😅 super long story. Please feel free to go down the rabbit hole of my bikes 😂 here’s a good summary though

Any idea why your engine failed? Pistons melted??? What year is it?
It was a 2020 model year. And the pistons and cylinders cracked due to metal shavings getting inside.
Go check this video out. Has a lot of the answer you might want in there.

Sorry
How tall is your windshield? what bar bag do you have?
I have the 9inch windshield and the bag is the Harley handlebar bag (smaller one) to be able to fit in there.
Like my street Bob!
The best Hd!
It’s the coolest looking bike ..too bad it’s got issues…. But those issues are all fat Bob issues_.
