Went to my local Harley dealer to get an inspection on my DR650. I have no interest in Harley's but I saw a Fat Bob 114 in red with Rhinehart mufflers and holy shit I was blown away. I even sat on it and man did it feel good. Thank God it's 18k plus or else I might have just bought it on the spot.
They look a treat too! Like the barrels of a massive shotgun! Unfortunately by the time you get them in India they cost upwards of 80k, or so I reckon.
Cool review! I had a 114 Fat Bob with the Rinehart exhausts, what a bike and what a sound... But as you say if only one had unlimited space in the garage (and unlimited budget)!
I bought the fat bob 2 month ago. its my first bike and I'm totally happy with it. I changed the ugly number plate so my backtire is open. next one will be the pipe. Its a great bike, fun as hell.
Agree. Changed my number plate to side mount, looks so much better. So difficult to gauge the difference in exhaust note when most muffler reviews are filmed and watched (listened to) on a mobile with tiny speakers. I fitted Rinehart Racing mufflers, look great and OMG when I first fired her up it was like thunder. Deep and resonating :)
Nice review. To be honest...it scared me to ride along at first on the wrong side of the road! My instinct was to turn back into the right lane. Doubt at 62 I could learn either. Fat Bob seems to be a winner in the visceral ride arena!
Great review bro! Subscribed and watching. Your review on the Fat Bob sold me and I bought one. Like you said perfect for the second bike role and so much fun. Did the 117 stage 4 upgrade and it's a complete beast!!! Perfect siting beside the XDiavel. Cheers from Vancouver Canada.
Thanks! Glad you got one and are enjoying it! I'd love to see a pic of the beast! My email is in the description if you feel like sharing! Thanks and happy riding!
Hey Dan loving all the content, Just as someone who doesn't ride bikes yet it would be awesome if you had a video explaining basic riding clutch control etc etc. Keep it up
There a few videos out there. When i first started riding i was watching a few vids but when you hop on a bike you will just get it. The vids gave me a basic idea or everything but its more about what the clutch bite is like. I own an MT-09 and I love her but shes aggressive. He may make a vid on it but i recommend just hopping on a bike and get the feel for it.
Got my 114 five months ago and love it. Number plate now side mounted. The strangled lawnmower sound had to go. Difficult to gauge the sound of mufflers with a video clip recorded and viewed/listened to, on a mobile. Short shots sound too harsh for me. Fitted Rinehart Racing mufflers and OMG when I fired her up its like hearing thunder, deep and resonating, yet not harsh like short shots. Sounds freakin awesome through tunnels. Take a test ride, you'll be impressed.
Nice review. I've owned two Harleys; an Iron 883 and a Street Bob. Decent bikes, but I've switched to my CB650R and I'm never looking back. I have a full write-up of the differences if you care to see them. They are obviously two very different ways to ride, and I found myself trying to ride a cruiser like a sport bike.
The new Harleys are whole lot better than they've ever been. Honestly, when I test rode the new fat Bob I forgot all about the horse powers of the Ducatis and the fireblades and what not. I just thought that were there to be an apocalypse, this is the bike I'd take! Which is ironic because once Harley did advertise it as an apocalypse bike. A lot has to do with the torque and a tank like build quality. I know Harleys have had a bad rep in build, but the new ones are build to last, anything you touch feels like a rock. It doesn't feel like made out of foil of metal as a Honda would, (I still have a 650f), but feels like raw iron haha! Sorry for the long comment but I just test rode it recently so in the feel of it still. It was visceral really. Spec sheet numbers don't do justice to it. Just the thing you need, with a freight train like torque and build to ram through a horde of zombies! 😂
Nice to see a cool Fat Bob vid from somebody on the same side of the pond. Talking of bits and bobs can I second a comment down below about the music at the start and end please? I can't wait to hear the rest of it. Cheers
This is the only HD I have any interest in. I think it looks great! Just a touch pricey. Hopefully, you will get a view bump on this video as the new bad boys 3 movie trailer features a fat bob.
I kinda like Harley's think they look great and the sound.... but they're just so expensive compared to what you can get from other manufacturers, makes it hard to justify unless you've got a few bob, looking forward to your 790 Duke vid
A few...... Bob. I see what you did there. I really enjoyed it and there are cheaper models. They are just different and they do their own thing which I like.
@@Englishbikerdan and the community about them is great, dealership etc there always seems to be something going on, dealer and club organised evens etc. I've had a look around at some models maybe sometime I'll end up getting one. Only thing really stopping me now is that i would be using it all day everyday for everything and not sure if they'd be great for having as a your only bike. Anyway, great channel, hope you keep growing it 👍
You won't be able to justify the cost of a Harley unless you touch and ride one. The way it's made, it feels like a lump of iron ore thundering down the road. The kind of bike you'd wish you had in an apocalypse to ram through a horde of zombies. Absolutely mystical experience to ride one.
Very late to the party here guys... I'm looking for some input with regards to the A licence and A2 licence... So, I've just cashed in some crypto and looking to buy a Fat Bob 114 as I've always been an admirer of its looks, plus, I've just recently come out of a very long-term relationship where my ex partner wasn't fond of motorbikes [now i have that freedom to finally get on two wheels]. I know it's foolish, but seriously considering on purchasing one in the next few weeks and I've already been the Harley Davidson dealership, but my downfall is, I don't have a bike license yet, but already have the CBT scheduled for next month. I'm kinda following my father's traits if I'm honest [He passed away last year due to C19], he bought a new Harley Davidson Fat Boy 1998 limited edition (solid wheels) back in 98 and that's when I fell in love with Harleys - and, at the time he couldn't even ride a bicycle (must be genetic, minus the ability to ride a bicycle). I'm really looking for advice tho, I'm in my mid 30's and slightly confused with the licence regs with the exact age restrictions for actual CC categories and where the Fat Bob would actually stand. I'm not sure if at my age I still need to hold the A2 for two years prior to getting the A licence or if because I'm over 24yrs old I can just do my CBT, then do the A licence and then just ride the Fat Bob without having 2yrs of riding experience that you get with the A2 - i know it probably sounds stupid, but can someone explain in simple terms on whether I'd be eligible to ride, for example, the Fat Bob or if it's gonna be a situation where I'll be keeping the bike in the garage for two years, which I'm happy to do so. Any feedback would be gratefully appreciated. Cheers
Hey, so your best route is to do your CBT then the direct access course which would give you your full license to ride the fat Bob. Sorry to hear about your father mate. All the best
HD dealerships must be way different over in Europe , here in US i have tryed to schedule a test ride with 3 different dealerships with 0 success , they are not going to give you any attention unless you are there with the intention to purchase on spot, at least that has been my experience with Harley and thats why I will not be spending $ on one
Take a black fatbob , put a set of sport glide rims on it , lower the rear fender cause it's too high and with the new rims get rid of them big balloon tires . It would bring out a different kind of look . With these new looks the headlight might look good . Could always ditch the headlight and put a real Harley headlight on the bike
Way more! I have a 650f. Spec sheets don't do justice to what a god a Harley feels like when you ride it. It's made to feel not to explain. Had I the money I'd swap mine for a fat Bob in a heartbeat.
Yep I agree, the FatBob is the better looking of them all. But one thing I absolutely don't like about the Harleys is all the the covers. Cover over exhaust, cover over wiring, cover over cover all over the bike! And mention the wiring...it looks like spaghetti! Not well done at all! But no worries, it's covered by a cover! I'll stop now... ;-)
@@Englishbikerdan Exactly, why would anyone race a Diavel on a Fatbob? The outcome (loss) is already predetermined. Who do other H-D's race against? Almost always other H-D's, for a reason. You should hear the Vance and hines highoutput slip ons on the fat bob, it sounds like a Lion roar
Even on the street 500, Vance and Hanes sound EPIC!!!

Can't say whether the Fat Bob is the best Harley Davidson but it surely is the coolest of the entire 2020 collection.

Imagine the sound of it with an aftermarket exhaust 😱
Who, has to imagine the sound (noise) of a Harley with an aftermarket exhaust? Anyone?

I’ve never seen a Harley with the stock exhaust in the states.
Very cool motorcycle! Nice review!
Got a 2021 FXLRS but find it a bit too harsh, so might swap it for a Fat Bob. Is the Fat Bob quite a bit more comfy, especially in the front?
Fat Bob does everything right that KXLRs didn't.
Not my kind of bike; but a good review and that is what counts. Thanks Dan
Love the bike but the rear number plate holder is awful...really need a tail tidy to sort it out.
How does it compare to the Diavel, similar perhaps ?
