Thank you for this post. I am not very precise on registration but this would definitely work well without having to buy anything. I played with cut shapes and using your method of applying color over paper masks, and removing them before printing on another color. I LOVED IT! Thanks again!

Really great colors this session !!! I think it makes the image interesting when the masks touch each other (like in the piece with the grey background. Also, using the colors that are already in the print for collage is very strong. Best work up yo now ( imho). thanks for the video.

I've been thinking about making a baren type thingie. I'm thinking about covering a jar lid with crochet. *I'm always trying cover something with crochet lol. :)

Thank you for the interesting video but most of all the tip about lining up the paper. I tried it and it worked a treat. I also made some lovely prints with my own onion rings and ripples and had some beautiful collage painted onion rings for future collage projects.

I am new (just found you this morning!) to your channel and had to stop the video and just thank you for your wonderful inspiration and talent. I am new to the gel plate as well and your words are of innumerable help. I went to your website and immediately sent a link to artist friends of mine. Someone else may have mentioned, this, but if not: try cutting stencils from Tyvek envelopes. Works much better than paper for me :-)

Love the idea of making your own stencils. Especially if you like the bold graphic style, why not make your own rather than buy them? Seems pretty easy and they look really cool! Love how your prints turned out! Thanks for showing your whole process. Sometimes I see people wait for paint layers to dry (while layers are still on plate) before applying the background onto the plate. Do you ever do it that way? I find it a little more confusing and your way seems more straightforward, or at least easier for me to understand and visualize how it might turn out. Thanks again 😊
Hi Danielle, there is no right or wrong way. Sometimes getting so hung up on procedures kills the joy of creating. Best to do test prints to see what works for you. It's never easy, but having fun while doing art is the whole point. Good luck with your projects!

You can also put your paper in a laminate sheet and sit the gelli plate on top of that for accurate registration?
