I think they were, at the end of the ep Steven mentions that he and Simu were actually going to be roommates, but Simu got the call that he was in for Shang Chi, so Steven had to live alone with his cat 😂
Just casually being besties with a freaking Marvel Superhero. I wasn’t super familiar with Simu (outside of knowing he was playing Shang-Chi) but his personality is so fun. Definitely fits in with the other Marvel personalities, can’t wait to see the movie and eventually some crossover action
I loved watching Steven's whole process of making the food, and the heartfelt way he really cared about making it the absolute best for his guest. Oh, and that drink? I'm not into boba but I WANT THAT DRINK!!
Just because of this, I'm totally going to the premiere of the movie, he's such a nice guy, deserves to become a full-fledged Hollywood star. Thank you for this amazing season!!
This is my favorite new web series. Steven has such a natural chemistry with all the guests. The premise that he is just figuring things out as he goes along, overcomes these challenges, it's very endearing to people like myself, who are also constantly figuring out things for the first time and just having to make it work anyways.
Sad how Simu Liu is literally promoting Shang-Chi on his own while Marvel is literally doing nothing compared to their other films. Like this movie is huge!! We have an Asian lead who’s a superhero, the majority of the CAST is Asian, AND ITS A LITERAL MARVEL MOVIE?? We got more promotion for the Captain Carter episode of What If. I’m happy we got him on this episode. Nice guy! Edit: It seems like some people have not seen many ads at all while some see ads all the time. It might be a regional thing. I don’t know.
I don't know if it's a region-based thing or if I'm just not an avid marvel fan, but I'd say I've seen a similar amount of ads popping up and the trailers and stuff on my feed for both those things. I could be wrong tho.
You're not kidding, this actor has been doing all the heavy lifting of promoting this movie mostly by himself with some help from dedicated fans. He's been heavily promoting it on his Twitter since day 1 but I'm not seeing ads for this movie anywhere, not on youtube or other websites or tv. The only reason I know about it is fans hyping it with mostly material the actor has provided. Normally it's hard to avoid Marvel ads but this movie is getting no advertising at all!
Dont imagine marvel/Disney would be self sabotaging their own profits. Lack of marketing might be a reflection of the times. Maybe the promotional budget is lower because their movie revenue (and everybody's) has tanked in the last year and cinema releases don't attract the same audience? Personally I've seen the same amount of marketing for the eternals so far, or black widow before it came out.
@@hankjones7054 Disney has a history of badly marketing anything that they don't want to do well to justify not doing it going forward. This is a company that could sell water to fish and has absolutely tanked movies with how it was marketed in the past. Look into how they treated treasure planet.
This is literally the most I’ve seen of Simu (never watched his show, but I will now!) and I’m totally digging this guy’s vibe and happy to see his star take off. Definitely going to be following his career and can’t wait to watch Shang-Chi!
Apart from TV, he's done a lot of skits here on UA-cam, primarily with WongFu Productions, which is an Asian American film production crew based in LA. They've been around since the start of UA-cam.
One of my favorite things about Watcher is when Steven calls up an expert and you can TELL that they think his idea isn't going to work. Then he serves his guest and they love every moment of it. Absolutely *(boba) chef's kiss*
Their friendships is so cute. Simu's reactions to each thing were so pure. Best way to end the season. I'm gonna try see if I can make it at home cause there's no Boba guys in Australia.
I like how the longer Stephen did this the more markers he got for notes and dish design. First episode has like 5 markers. This one is a whole booklet
my favorite moment from the vid would probably the way simu looked at steven while he was putting out the ingredients of the boba. you could literally see all the emotions flash in spite of him covering his mouth. so proud of u steven. im really going to miss dish granted, cant wait for the next season
This was so heartwarming! When Steven was pouring the layers in with Simu there, I could see the love and pride he has for his friend. All that effort celebrating his friend who's hitting it big!
Can we take a moment to appreciate how good the editing is for this episode? The cutaways are perfectly timed, the pace is is easygoing without slowing down, and the episode stands up to a second watch to be an even better experience.
Every interview or media appearance I see from Simu gives me that same impression. So pumped to see him in Shang Chi next month, I feel like his career is about to skyrocket.
Sometimes people will have celebrities or other creators on their shows, and they don't seem to know each other, but it seems like these 2 actually know eachother.
what a great guy, him becoming a marvel superhero and being a positive image for the asian community especially at this time is such a wonderful thing for him, lets hope he continues to be an amazing image for all audiences.
The request seems easy but when i think about creativity and wow-ing and not to mention boba is kinda hard to make, this is not an easy menu. Heck, all other episodes weren’t easy either. Watching Steven make it all come true is actually encouraging. Enjoyed this season Steven. Kudos

You should definitely watch Kim’s Convenience
I loved watching Steven's whole process of making the food, and the heartfelt way he really cared about making it the absolute best for his guest. Oh, and that drink? I'm not into boba but I WANT THAT DRINK!!
Yeah for $127, I definitely want that boba
Came for the boba and stayed for the wholesomeness and feels. 😊 The friendship and emotion are truly heart warming.
I love that the first few things Simu says about Steven is roasting him about his fashion and hair dye. You can tell they really are great friends
Just because of this, I'm totally going to the premiere of the movie, he's such a nice guy, deserves to become a full-fledged Hollywood star. Thank you for this amazing season!!
Agreed!
100%!
Simu is also great in a Canadian sitcom too, called Kim's Convenience. He's one of the leads, and it is well worth the watch!
Woah! Steven’s now making expensive meals for Marvel superheros now! That’s so cool!
Now it's time to write 3 nows in one sentence now. 2 is outdated!
@@MarcoAshford tell us more about your thoughts and opinions! You seem wise and kind!
No wonder Simu got so mad at the dragon's den company. He loves his Boba!
I dont think so. Marvel youtube channel literally keep releasing Shang-chi video. And the cast and crew doing interview there and there.
This is literally the most I’ve seen of Simu (never watched his show, but I will now!) and I’m totally digging this guy’s vibe and happy to see his star take off. Definitely going to be following his career and can’t wait to watch Shang-Chi!
If you have access to Kims Convenience (on netflix), its really funny and hes a main character!
@@manwhalejoe6962 yeah that’s what I heard! I do have Netflix so I’ll have to check it out
Kim's Convenience is so awesome but I'm so sad that they cancel it
Apart from TV, he's done a lot of skits here on UA-cam, primarily with WongFu Productions, which is an Asian American film production crew based in LA. They've been around since the start of UA-cam.
One of my favorite things about Watcher is when Steven calls up an expert and you can TELL that they think his idea isn't going to work. Then he serves his guest and they love every moment of it. Absolutely *(boba) chef's kiss*
25:51 Simu just being absolutely mind blown by this is so freaking adorable/hilarious
Their friendships is so cute. Simu's reactions to each thing were so pure. Best way to end the season. I'm gonna try see if I can make it at home cause there's no Boba guys in Australia.
I can't tell if Simu is dying from excitement or just genuinely concerned where he got himself into and what he's about to digest
"Steven Lim on-your-left moment" This guy summed up this entire series so well with a Marvel reference, I'm so pleased
I loved that!
"Half of life is just waiting for water to boil" -Steven Lim, 2021
Truer words
Omg this is way better than Simu's promo interviews, y'all are such cute friends. You have to bring him on again!!
This series b like “watch Steven express his love language to everyone in his life” and we truly eat it up
Simu Liu is so underrated, I hope he continues to excel in his career
Can we take a moment to appreciate how good the editing is for this episode? The cutaways are perfectly timed, the pace is is easygoing without slowing down, and the episode stands up to a second watch to be an even better experience.
Simu is such a lovely and charming guy, seems like a ton of fun to hang with.
Every interview or media appearance I see from Simu gives me that same impression. So pumped to see him in Shang Chi next month, I feel like his career is about to skyrocket.
I've never waited for a Dish Granted so much as I waited for Simu's episode.
(also, just a thing, he could be a part of Puppet History just saying)
OH MY GOD THAT WOULD BE GENIUS
@@calci2679 I just wanna see the Professor fanboying over Simu and maybe seeing Steven and Simu competing against each other
i would love to see simu liu on puppet history !! or top 5 beatdown
rewatching this after the latest Pod Watcher episode and i could NOT tell half of this is ADR'd at all! amazing work, Annie!
24:05 “This is Steven Lim’s ‘On Your Left’ moment” 🤣🤣
Simu Liu, aka the best thing to ever happen to Marvel Studios
Watcher is now canon in the MCU, and that's something you love to see
Can you imagine The Professor doing a puppet history for the Snap? @Watcher can you get on this? :D
I 90% expected Simu to kiss Steven for this. This is love.
Uhoh
I love all the care and devotion Steven has to make every meal something his guests will not only find delicious but very personal
I find it weirdly comforting to watch people pour, drink, and discuss tea.
it’s official...steven is apart of the mcu now
tony: [long genuine statement about being grateful for this season]
steven: im tired
Who is here after he called out the bubble tea company on dragons den 😂
literally did a double take on the title!! i’m so proud of how far our boy has come
The request seems easy but when i think about creativity and wow-ing and not to mention boba is kinda hard to make, this is not an easy menu. Heck, all other episodes weren’t easy either. Watching Steven make it all come true is actually encouraging. Enjoyed this season Steven. Kudos
I just love this show. Came to Watcher for the Ghoul Boys, but Steven's cooking content (and bartending skills) have quickly become my favourite.
I really hope the popularity of the Barbie movie brings new viewers to this series. I need more episodes!
OMG I freakin died when Simu just completely loses composure for 2 seconds, “YOU SON OF B*TCH, THATS GENIUS!” 😂🤣😂 but man I loved this episode, so awesome to see the process of you making Boba, and the two you together is dope! Keep it up 👍💪
"That's pretty ambitious of you, Steven" -Tony in every episode xd
It has been a really fun and impressive season. Steven has absolutely nailed every dish. Not only showing his cooking capabilities but also showing his appreciation and love to the people around him. It was so sweet watching this episode 😝
Saying that you've played basketball, Smash, ping pong, and now make boba with someone in the MCU is a legendary feat. You are lucky to be friends with such an incredible person
This was the first episode I ever watched of this series, and now I'm watching it again after I've watched every episode in the series. Incredible! Can't wait for the next season!
Saw the thumbnail and was like “JUNG!!” Omg loved him in Kim’s Convenience. Can’t wait to watch his new movie!
