Will CS2 let you preview how many tiles are needed for a fully upgraded facility? In other words, a fully upgraded high school will require 10x10 squares. This will allow one to properly plan a city. As you said just like in real life a plot of land is preplanned for a school.
I especially love how the cemeteries and crematoriums look now compared to CS1, as I always felt the crematoriums in CS1 felt too unnatural, but these feel *perfect* for the atmosphere of CS2, with the new design.
i do kind of wish the traffic level was higher, the population numbers are still really off where you'll see cities with skyscrapers only have like 20k people lol
nah, realistically thats how it'd be. Skyscrapers are usually commercial or office space and a lot of the cities we've seen on csl2 are really sprawly with not much density. Traffic level is defined by the time of hour, integrated rush hour mod. Also since csl2 cities are usually connected to a highway rather than having an interstate having right through them like most american cities do is what causes there to be less traffic than you'd typically see running through a city of this size.
Based on the many, many early release videos, it appears to be very much oriented towards mega cities. Video creators have often struggled to create say a map of many small towns, villages, or hamlets. For starters, the required buildings are too big to start and only get bigger with upgrades. It's harder to tell because of most videos playing at lower progression points, but it appears that the economics are skewed that way as well. For that and other reasons, I am very interested in seeing what demands and requirements I can turn off, either through game options or through mods. If I want to build a rural setting or university town or tourist trap, I want to be able to.
The upgrade feature was desperately needed! So happy to see this. I think that I might like the buying land in smaller chunks so that you can target areas that you may need to open up more precisely. I have yet to test that though. Parking spaces was also a much-needed feature. Glad to see that implemented as well.
My main question (because the rest is just delight) will it be possible in the final version to turn off the white lines on the road indicating the direction of travel? It's cute, but it's distracting.
A week before release and the lead dev comes out and says "Performance isn't quite were we wanted it, but we're launching it anyway" Welcome to 2023 gaming folks, were we continue to get unoptimized pos platforms to sell us dlc on lul

I can't quit bein curious if we can place down a Underground Parking Garage then place that Tower-lookin one right on top of it and REALLY cram in the Parking Space into one spot...? And if the Criminal Element goes thinkin of trying to abuse this, I *might* have already thought about that and already planned for these Parking Areas sitting directly adjacent to a huge frickin Police Station... so go ahead, see if ya think ya can get your butts in trouble in these Parking Garages then handle a S.W.A.T. Team Response Time of less than 30 seconds... >:) One of the things I really wanna try as well is playin on a Mountain toting Map and tryin placing Telecom Towers on the tippy tops of Mountain Peaks and seeing what kinda mad Coverage Radius is possible... along with if those things can handle the intense cold.
Great video! But I am curious whether you actively decided not to level terrain before placing certain buildings. Uneven parking lots on those buildings look really ugly.
So does the wind direction actually effect how air pollution flows in your city now? That would be cool. Afaik cities skylines 1 had water flow direction but not air direction
Someone's not been watching the Paradox videos! 😅 it moves air pollution in specific directions so you need to be careful with your industrial planning as it badly affects residential zoning.

What if there's a sort of Cities: Skylines competition where the mayor with the highest happiness score on a specific date is the champion (say, you start a city the normal way and end at Year's 1 early summer, you send the savegame to the devs). A Cities: Skylines Worlds would be a heck of a contest.

@@NinaFelwitchTrue, they should be inside of a certain range of the main building. Kinda with a circle distance as it's done with landfills.
SimCity 2013 solved this by just surrounding the entire main building with outlines of all the possible addons in every possible position
