@@EVLitterPicker - I would not have said anything if it were pronounced "deh-poe" which I have heard from UK English speakers. But what was on the video was "deh-pot".
An alternate option to disabling the mousepointer lock, as i appreciate the function. If you just press escape to bring up the ingame menu for settings, save, exit and so on, the lock is temporarily removed. This makes good sense as you also temporarily pause the game while doing so.
I’ve played the game for around 20 hours now and there are some things in here that were actually helpful and that I will be implementing! Definitely deserves a like.
I wasnt currently playing the game while watching this video, but what you suggested at 3:41 was one of the biggest frustrations that I have had, so I immediately opened the game and changed the setting just so that I could like this video while the game was playing without having to hit the windows key lmfao XD

Also I appreciate you telling us not to listen to UA-camrs telling us we are playing the game wrong and I like that you encourage us to do what we want. Thank you. ❤
There are dozens of us! ... Maybe? I definitely recommend checking out Joy Builds Cities and Few Candy. Two women I look up to quite a bit in the C:S-sphere. : ) Thanks for the kind words!
i was looking forward to the hills. i like to build in hilly areas. unique bridges in the hills to build your city. thank you for the tips and the very informative video. have a great day everyone.
I've been playing this game since the launch of CS1, I learned SO SO much from this, Thank you so much for these amazing game changing things. I have so many cities to rebuild now, I can't wait.
You can get 60-70% fps gain by setting Dynamic Resolution Scale Quality to Custom and choosing FSR 1.0 at 75% (1080p) with not really a noticeable loss in visual fidelity.
As a detail builder from CS1, I have been struggling trying to figure out how to build in the new game. I have never been a big player with budgets or planning, I just want to build pretty cities that look really cool and function basically. I feel like CS2 is more about city management than building, leaving me feel a bit left out. I am not sure if, after buying this and playing it for only 10 hours, if I have really figured it out yet. Thanks Toadie for a great video that is very helpful for the way I build. Great as always.
I normally watch info videos like this at 1.5x or 1.75x, I actually had to drop the speed to 1.25x due to the amount of info and your concise presentation. Good job!
I wanted to drop a comment telling you how much i appreciatte this video! I keep coming back to it to figure out new things i get struck on trying to fix! thank you
I got bored of all the games I used to play until now and redownloaded Sim City. Since it has been abandoned almost from the start, I decided to give Cities Skylines a try, but the more videos I watch the more scared I get, it seems very complex and difficult.
Would love a video on how water works when landscaping. I gave up building rivers in the first game because I couldn’t figure out the physics of the water. Also is landscaping free? Or at least toggable to be free?
Landscaping is free!! Which I love. : ) I'd love to provide a video on how water works when landscaping! It definitely feels a bit different than C:S 1 and I don't have it nailed down yet, but one day for sure.
Also if you have your 'game cursor mode' set to "Confined to window" yet you easily want to get out of your screen to get to another app, simply hit esc or the cog in the upper right corner to get to the menu. Now your cursor can roam freely. Once you get back into game and out of menu, you're back to edge scrolling.
2:10 That is how one can place crosswalks anywhere as well. Double-clicking apparently creates a node in the street which can be used to add e.g. a pedestrian crosswalk. For instance, so that you can remove the one in a busy intersection and place one further down the line
9:22 - Importing resources other than electricity/water isn't from your budget, but from the companies budget. Also increases traffic because of more trucks going from outside the city to inside, instead of domestically. So, while the statement is true, you will make more money overall by targeting the resources with deficit, it's not because you pay the import costs. The company that has resources available locally pays less, resulting in less bankrupt companies. And you make tax money out of the produced resource (you obviously don't make it out of the imported one) Edit: List of the only things player pays out of their pocket, taken from ExpenseSource enum: Subsidies, LoanInterest, ImportElectricity, ImportWater, ExportSewage, ServiceUpkeep
Thanks, great video, I'll have to watch a few times to process it all. Performance issues aside (which I'm sure will be ironed out) I'm really excited for this release tomorrow.
I haven't played CS1 since 2018 so this might be things everyone knew except me: The wind blows stronger closer to high ground so build a hill if you're using wind turbines. You can cheese the first few levels by building road and deleting it for 100% returned money. (Make a 'Good start' save afterwards.) You can terraform a pool and fill it with sewage. I'm planing to make it power a dam. :)
I found out that you actually can zone residential really really far away from schools and Students will literally walk hours across the map, along the highway or train line. If there is no bus or train they rather walk than not going to school or work
If you do another one here is one Thing that helped me: When you terraform arround a Bridge the Pillars often end up in the Ground and create these kinda Krater arround them. But you can use the exchange Road Tool with the same Road (which the Pillar belong too) and press a replace a few Times. The Pillars then kinda adjust to the terrain height. :)
i really wish i could tax based on housing type and not education :(. Or maybe both. I want to tax the housing but it works more like income tax instead. But knowing i canmake the taxes higher in general is v helpful
This game is insane. I'm pretty sure my city is going to fall apart, but I'm surprised I've gotten as far as I have already, lol. Thing I found that's helped was producing as much electricity as I could early on to start making money quickly
I really hate the scale of service buildings in C:S2 Actually, I hate that there’s only one scale. They’re too big! They don’t fit in dense urban environments!
Wonderful video! I didn't know about double clicking with the same road type to rearrange the grid, I'll be making good use of that now! I've subscribed too, looking forwards to more CS2 content as I learn the game 😄
Alright I would listen to these tips but you did such a good job telling me not to listening what UA-camrs tell me that I’m going to do the exact opposite of them! 😂

Did my like button just light up, when you said "like Button" in the video? Damn that is new to me.
Yeah it also does something special to the “subscribe” button if the creator mentions it
3:04 yoooooooooo you can just plop a whole damn interchange on top of the highway and it just... figures it out? That's incredible.
It depends on the highway roads but generally if it can it will, yes. Curved highways make it difficult.
Never worked for me , there’s always that one little peace of highway that you end up deleting before it let you place the interchange 😅😅😅
Just had the same reaction, love it 😂
the fact the like part of the youtube button highlighted when you said about the like button is awesome!

It's French, so the final letter is usually silent, in this case the T.
