    Mr odell, i often wonder why you dont use a mini digger and dumper to clear these sites,? We would typically have two men on site, push over the shed, pull out the concrete, excavate a depth and stone it up in a single day, i believe that makes me £4-500 cheaper than my competition and means we can achieve more completed jobs in a month

      The buckets on those are no bigger than a wheel barrow maybe smaller.
      You still have to get the dirt and debris from point a to b
      Making many runs across the lawn in one of those spells collateral damage.

    Pity you don't ship outside US :( I wanted a Cap and T shirt perhaps you could look into it, I've bought from US UA-camr's before and the shipping wasn't that bad.
    Top job on the driveway , that stump grinder was brilliant.

      The head gear works. Keeps the sweat from running in to my eyes. also the sweat wets the head gear and when a breeze hits it you get chills.

    I really like the way you use those 2x4 and stakes with pins to keep the concrete level when skreeting...very solid technique...nice job with this poor. You make this type of work look way to easy. Especially considering how hot it is outside...I would still like to see the boys finishing and framing though.

    Hey Odell just wondering have you ever thought of investing in a mini skid steer Vermeer? Oh and a Gereoge Buggy when I use to work in residential we'll use them all the time of course we will lay down plywood for a path so it won't tear up the yard or driveway. Let me know what are your thoughts?

    • @OdellCompleteConcrete
      @OdellCompleteConcrete  6 років тому

      I have used the Georgia Buggy. Great for flat ground and wide corners. Not to good in the tight spaces around here.
      The Vermeer is under consideration.

    Good stuff as ever. Couldn't you have used a mini excavator to break out existing concrete and reduce sub-base levels?

    • @OdellCompleteConcrete
      @OdellCompleteConcrete  7 років тому

      Yes that could be done. The concrete came out real easy as you see in the video. Sub base is best undisturbed.

    David my man!! I was watching goon oh man he isn't going to take a compactor to the dirt, then I realized your a pro and out popped the compactor! Two questions. What's the big difference between a float with rounded edges vs squared? Also would laying a base like gravel help fight the uneven ground when the dead roots decompose?

    • @OdellCompleteConcrete
      @OdellCompleteConcrete  7 років тому

      I don't think the gravel is going to make much of difference. Your still going to end up with decomposed roots, and hollows. I think this is when the steel makes a difference.

    • @OdellCompleteConcrete
      @OdellCompleteConcrete  7 років тому

      The round doesn't fit in to corners. Could be a problem. The Square leaves more lines. The square is probably better. On my hand trowel I like a square end and a round end so I have the best of both worlds.

    So, I know nothing about pouring a concrete patio ....I am curious what benefit there is in putting the rebar underneath the concrete..wouldn't it be more advantageous to put the rebar into the wet concrete as it is being poured? Or does that actually enhance the opportunity for cracking?
