I found the accessibility of the HA sorc awesome, I'm an older gamer so some days the fingers don't move as fast. HA sorc let me participate with my guilds in vet, hard mode content, and NOT as a carry, as a full on dps damaging participant. So having that nerfed for trial builds definitely hurt. My end gamer coach/trainer recommended your video as an option moving forward, and while I will likely never get to 130k, this looks like it will get me back in the 90k+ range. Thank you for the update!

It’s not that simple. The bonuses are quite different. Ur-Mage is great if you need the pen, and I always use it in trash. But for boss fights the Kilt is preferable unless you’re already hitting the 125% crit cap. Not a vast difference or anything though, so don’t sweat it.

Jow much of a damage loss is only having blue jewelry doing? In making a few mistakes but it seems id only be doing about 100k when id be doing it about perfect. Im champion level 820 which is pretty close to what is needed. Also couple of the abilities arent fully leveled (all are evolved). So would getting all that up really do 130k?
Most likely there are lots of minor things which, when combined, add up to a significant damage loss. That's usually the case. Either way, get that jewelry to purple quality (gold is admittedly very expensive). It's not a huge deal, but all the gear stats will be lower and the Bloodthirsty trait less powerful.
There’s a setting somewhere I think under ‘Combat’ to show the number. Also, there are addons (such as Action Duration Reminder) that will show you more detailed ultimate info.
I wonder how Lstaff performs on the nightblade. Couldn't test it by myself yet, but maybe I should. Haven't seen people experimenting with this at all. Probably nightblade is not that popular anymore.
I don't think Lightning Staff is really worth using on any other class. There's just too much damage over time, even on a Nightblade. I tested it on magblade and it wasn't even close to Daggers. If you want to go ranged, I recommend using a bow.
@@NinjaPulls I considered making a bow/bow build for certain situations, but I end up playing nightblade less in the actual content. Since arc making many things pretty much trivial with his incomprehensible aoe damage. Easy to get addicted to it.
Nothing at the moment. I've been bullied into playing Tank in almost all of my raid groups at the moment. But I used it in Sanity's Edge hard modes just last week and it works GREAT. What sort of action were you thinking of?
I’d like to try this but it’s way to complicated for me to understand what are the sets and gear, and the staff rotation I don’t understand how u do it iam not good at rotations

Nothing for Martial Knowledge specifically, but I guess this setup could be made to accommodate it. Just drain your Stamina before combat starts and overcast Armaments/Carve/Hurricane/Trap or whatever to keep the Stamina where you want it.
Absolutely! Should *hopefully* be coming in a few days, time permitting 🤞. The mini-guide and website are already up if you wanna take a look - the link is in the description.
Static rotation repeats a sequence of specific skills and LAs. As opposed to dynamic rotation where you have to pay attention to every cast and timers. You can usually squeeze out a bit more damage with a dynamic rotation. However, dynamic rotation is usually quite complicated, so unless you’re a very experienced player, the damage output is likely to be lower than with a simpler static rotation.
Relequen has always been a better set. It's also Medium (which is what we want) and it's buffed by the Energized passive, making it even stronger on Sorcerer. But if you want to use Whorl I guess you can, no problem.
@@NinjaPulls you will strugle to get to pen cap in not so organized trials. I recommend running at least some light pieces unless you have hardcore group that has every debuff needed for pen cap. And i do mean EVERY debuff. you will need tank to run tremor and crimson and alkosh and the tank cant drop crusher at any time. (tanks often need to drop crusher at some points in boss fights) Whorl of depths is the absolute superior set to run in non organized trials.
Thanks for the comment, but I would fact-check some of what you're saying here. Yes, hitting the pen cap is a priority but no, it is absolutely not only "hardcore" groups that get there. That's wildly misleading. Maybe I should do a video soon to clarify how easy it is.
It is 12s on the first cast, then 20s and then 32s at 3 stacks. It rewards you for managing the DOT carefully and that’s why it’s so great in long fights. In shorter fights there’s less value in using it. Hope that helps.
@@NinjaPulls it was such a noob question. i'm sorry, i always wait for 0s that's why, i didnt really read the skill first. thank you for answering it. i have question on trash set ups, what if i dont have velothi ur what is the best alternative?
No problem @@pandobobo - no need to apologise! For trash you can use a monster set like Thierric or Grothdarr, or Mora's Whispers if you prefer a Mythic. Death Dealer's Fete is another good one if you're staying in combat for long periods.
The balance in this game is so volatile I feel sorry for any content creators trying to update numerous builds each patch while the devs flail around and throw knives on a board to decide what to rework
@@NinjaPulls speaking of reworks... I have a one bar HA sorc build because of my disability. However, I do not have the oakensoul ring yet. It is challenging for me to get through that stupid quest line. Any suggestions for a alternative one bar build or HA without the oakensoul ring for a magsorc?
Sadly, Oakensoul is still broken beyond belief, so it's hard for anything to compete with it. However I'm sure you'll get decent enough results with just a standard HA setup minus the Mythic. I don't have any such build to hand. I think the last time I played HA Sorc was in 2019 - sorry!
Recently, newer DLC dungeon boss ignore taunt mech by the tank. And, deploy much of dangerous AoE. Can you survive without any of evading but just keep standing same position without any of damage shield or any of self healing technique? I want to see real combat demo play rather than these testing.
Fair question, but this is not a dummy-only setup. It's what I would use in content. Maybe with max Health food if it's a trifecta group or something like that. The same types of builds are shown in vKA and vSH trifectas here: ua-cam.com/video/qwHVEBttT7Q/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/oMeHPLBOe0c/v-deo.html Unless there's a mechanic that takes them away from the group, none of the DDs are running self-heals or shields other than Carve.
@@NinjaPulls Well done! I'm impressed. I hope every DD player can act like you. By the way, I'm tank and healer main player. Just please don't misunderstanding. Your damage simulation tutorial is great! However, most of PUG DD act like combat dummy simulation in real combat situation. I become really crazy with those type of DD players in Vet dungeon as both tank and healer role. (T_T) Each time when I met those "damage simulation players" in real combat, I said "PLEASE DON'T KEEP STANDING ON AoE". (LoL)
@@RedBattalion9000 yeah that makes total sense. A dummy test like this will always be different from a dungeon PUG, sometimes VERY different. Thanks for the comment!
Absolutely, yeah. Rotation hasn't changed AT ALL (just tweak it for different fight types - length, number of enemies etc.). If you're using Daggers then Aegis Caller is a bit stronger, but with a Lightning front bar Pillar of Nirn is still probably the best option.
You really think the rotation is too complicated? That’s incredible to me. I know a lot of players who roll their eyes at a sorc rotation like this because they think it’s too easy and boring! It just goes to show that ZOS have an impossible task keeping everyone happy. 😁 Anyway give this rotation a try - you might love it!

I disagree with your comment about those that have a issue with dagger thing - when I chose to play the game back in 2017 I wanted to be a magic character and use a staff .. I think if you choose a character type expect to be able to use the weapon associated with character types. I stopped playing due to the dagger and great sword meta on a magsorc a year back I was hitting 90k still using a staff but everyone else was hitting a hell of a lot harder using daggers and the great sword .. they ruined it for me doing all this .. if you wanna be a hybrid build they should bring out new classes designed for hybrid builds and leave my magsorc alone 😂😂 I’m not a role player I just picked my class and character as I wanted to play with a staff !! That’s my play style they made it impossible for those with that play style to enjoy the game.. glad they nerfed daggers !!
I see your point. However, this 'rule' that for some reason Magicka characters can only use Staves and nothing else - it's not shared by ZOS, or by most players, or by The Elder Scrolls series in general. That's the disconnect. And I totally understand that a handful of players feel abandoned by the combat system because of it. Kind of a shame. I'm just trying to highlight the reasons and justifications for these game design choices. ZOS don't get everything right, but I think the abuse they've received over this is totally unfair and regrettable. Thank you for being one of the few who can make your complaint politely and sensibly. Much appreciated!
@@NinjaPulls I’m not going to lie I have no idea about the complaints 😂🙈 it’s just preference when I was playing Diablo 2 I always loved the staff and the magic damage, oblivion I loved the staff for me when I started I knew that’s what my play style was.. my friend tried to get me on to daggers and I tried a few dungeons it wasn’t for me.. I’m just glad there is something for players that want to use both staffs .. that’s what I enjoy I don’t understand why people get so rude about a game it’s supposed to be fun 🤩 anyway I saw your comment about the maelstrom fire staff on the back bar swapping out hurricane and blockade I will give that a shot as I have just come back to the game after the whole dagger sword thing .. saw this and thought I might give the whole dps testing a go again - I come back to quest Necrom which I’ve done now .. I did notice when I come back my Magicka isn’t recovering well - still using depths and pillar of nirn I think I may swap it out for relequins I saw that your using (direct damage set)?? Am I right ?? I’m not fussed about getting over 100k damage I just want to be adequate for vet trials again ❤️ Thanks for the reply much appreciated
Sure @@Prinnyblackbeard my pleasure! Relequen is ideal for single target stuff, but Whorl is a Light set and it's nice to be able to increase the number of Light pieces to help with sustain. Make sure you're using potions as well. Switching to recovery food (Ghastly Eye Bowl) also helps a lot, but on the dummy and in group content you should be fine with Max Mag or Max Mag + Health food. Hope that helps.
I wonder if there's a way to make a 2 bar heavy attack sorc build (or any class, really) work. I'm just so over spamming click and skill every second, and arcanist still feels the same because you do that after a beam or two. Maybe that's a product of having played this game since day one in 2014, but I just wish they'd leave heavy attack builds alone when they do so much less damage than a full sweat build. Nerf the survivability if anything and give us some damage back.
Definitely possible. 2-bar HA builds used to be everywhere. It speaks volumes that they've vanished since Oakensoul appeared. After all, groups are getting Planesbreaker with this Mythic, so it's probably too good to ignore if you're going the HA route. Good luck with it either way!
@@NinjaPullsWould there be a huge DPS loss without using Overload or is it minimal? Ty for All the helpful answers. Couldnt use the build yet on it's finest since im still farming the gear.
@@zKriin No you don't need Overload. Maybe 2-3k DPS loss on the dummy. In very short fights it can obviously add more, but it's definitely not necessary.

It's not a huge deal, but all the gear stats will be lower and the Bloodthirsty trait less powerful.
how much spell crit do you have? i didnt find it. i only have 41.2% unbuffed
You can see the buffer values in the CMX at the end of the video. Hope that helps and sorry for the late reply!
How do I know how much Ultimate I have? I thought when it dinged or became available, it was well "maxed" ? :D:D
There’s a setting somewhere I think under ‘Combat’ to show the number. Also, there are addons (such as Action Duration Reminder) that will show you more detailed ultimate info.
what addon is that with the timing bar at the bottom?
The timers on the skill bar are from Action Duration Reminder. The scrolling are not an addon, obviously.
Thxs again, best guides imo
Thanks so much - that means a lot!
What addon is that 1-sec parsing one?
GCD Bar
how much dps would i loose if id use dawnbraker and mages wrath + huricane instead of skills you are using?
I honestly don't know. Give it a try! But I expect you'd lose quite a bit.
Have you made any changes for update 40?
Switched Nirn to Aegis Caller and gained a little bit of damage. But Nirn still works great.
So You only use overload when you have 300 on ultimate? If you don't have 300 you don't use it?
I mean, you CAN use it. But I probably wouldn't bother, since you're going to have to drop your Atronach after a few seconds anyway.
With what should we change Pillars with in u40?
I will be making build videos closer to the release. It’s only week 1 of PTS, so things might still change.
So is the stam sorc up next? 🙂
Hopefully it's all coming soon. Stamsorc definitely in the mix!
Do yo have any videos of this in action?
Nothing at the moment. I've been bullied into playing Tank in almost all of my raid groups at the moment. But I used it in Sanity's Edge hard modes just last week and it works GREAT. What sort of action were you thinking of?
I’d like to try this but it’s way to complicated for me to understand what are the sets and gear, and the staff rotation I don’t understand how u do it iam not good at rotations

Is there a addon you use that has the ability icons or are you adding that in?
That’s my editing - trying to make it easy for everyone to follow.
@@NinjaPulls got ya
I’m new to the game I enjoy 1 bar builds I do have a 2 bar dot Templar with 3 sets that gives shielding
GV Whath armourstyle is thath??
for trash do i put medium on body or do i put light
I'd go with 4-5 Light, but it kinda depends on fight time, sustain, debuffs etc. Good luck!
Hooraaay armarments has a use again!
Do you have a mk sorc build?
Nothing for Martial Knowledge specifically, but I guess this setup could be made to accommodate it. Just drain your Stamina before combat starts and overcast Armaments/Carve/Hurricane/Trap or whatever to keep the Stamina where you want it.
Do one for stamsorc, please.
Absolutely! Should *hopefully* be coming in a few days, time permitting 🤞. The mini-guide and website are already up if you wanna take a look - the link is in the description.
@@NinjaPulls Thank you.
my APM is to low for the 130k dps, but i still pull a steady 116k - 120k using vate bow for funsies XD
Thank god that horrible dagger meta is finally over.
Hahaha well, technically they're still slightly better... 😆 but yeah I thought this would make some people happy!
Daggers are still the meta lol but I know what you mean
Daggers still meta bow-boy, take a seat in the corner
@@jesseleeshoemakerjr5461 I use a Staff, nab.
Go chase your numbers.
"thanks god daggers meta is over"
... In a same time 2hnd sword on backbar 🤡
Also wdym by static rotation?
Static rotation repeats a sequence of specific skills and LAs. As opposed to dynamic rotation where you have to pay attention to every cast and timers. You can usually squeeze out a bit more damage with a dynamic rotation. However, dynamic rotation is usually quite complicated, so unless you’re a very experienced player, the damage output is likely to be lower than with a simpler static rotation.
What armor sets?
It’s all there in the video. And the mini guide and website: ninja-pulls.com
High Elf o Dark Elf?
Your videos are great as always, could you make a video for magplar please?
Thank you! The plan is to do them all 🤩
you run no heals?
Not in group content no. I run with good healers. But if in doubt, feel free to slap Vigor, Mender or Tether on the back bar.
why releqwen, no whorl of depths?
Relequen has always been a better set. It's also Medium (which is what we want) and it's buffed by the Energized passive, making it even stronger on Sorcerer. But if you want to use Whorl I guess you can, no problem.
@@NinjaPulls you will strugle to get to pen cap in not so organized trials. I recommend running at least some light pieces unless you have hardcore group that has every debuff needed for pen cap.
And i do mean EVERY debuff. you will need tank to run tremor and crimson and alkosh and the tank cant drop crusher at any time. (tanks often need to drop crusher at some points in boss fights)
Whorl of depths is the absolute superior set to run in non organized trials.
Thanks for the comment, but I would fact-check some of what you're saying here. Yes, hitting the pen cap is a priority but no, it is absolutely not only "hardcore" groups that get there. That's wildly misleading. Maybe I should do a video soon to clarify how easy it is.
why is my carve 12s only
It is 12s on the first cast, then 20s and then 32s at 3 stacks.
Love it!
The balance in this game is so volatile I feel sorry for any content creators trying to update numerous builds each patch while the devs flail around and throw knives on a board to decide what to rework
Haha yeah - it can sometimes feel a bit like that. Your sympathy is appreciated. But we love the game, so we keep on keeping on!
And, deploy
much of dangerous AoE. Can you survive without any of evading but just keep standing
same position without any of damage shield or any of self healing technique?
I want to see real combat demo play rather than these testing.
Fair question, but this is not a dummy-only setup. It's what I would use in content. Maybe with max Health food if it's a trifecta group or something like that.
The same types of builds are shown in vKA and vSH trifectas here:
ua-cam.com/video/qwHVEBttT7Q/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/video/oMeHPLBOe0c/v-deo.html
Unless there's a mechanic that takes them away from the group, none of the DDs are running self-heals or shields other than Carve.
@@NinjaPulls Well done! I'm impressed. I hope every DD player can act like you.
By the way, I'm tank and healer main player. Just please don't misunderstanding.
Your damage simulation tutorial is great! However, most of PUG DD act like combat dummy simulation in
real combat situation. I become really crazy with those type of DD players in Vet dungeon as both tank and healer role. (T_T)
Each time when I met those "damage simulation players" in real combat, I said "PLEASE DON'T KEEP STANDING ON AoE". (LoL)
@@RedBattalion9000 yeah that makes total sense. A dummy test like this will always be different from a dungeon PUG, sometimes VERY different. Thanks for the comment!
Is this viable still
Absolutely, yeah. Rotation hasn't changed AT ALL (just tweak it for different fight types - length, number of enemies etc.). If you're using Daggers then Aegis Caller is a bit stronger, but with a Lightning front bar Pillar of Nirn is still probably the best option.
@@NinjaPulls Okey piller and ageis or shall I use a trial set cuz I have a high elf sorc
@@NinjaPulls should I use ageis body and piller front bar and forget to ask is this a double staff build
too complicated; i just want to zap zap zap with heavy and keep up buffs.
@@NinjaPulls with ha sorc it was the first time i was able to look around and enjoy the animations, see whatt my friends were doing, and still put up nice dmg. otherwise, im staring at addons, timers, and other non-integrated addons. It opened my eyes
The intro 😂
I disagree with your comment about those that have a issue with dagger thing - when I chose to play the game back in 2017 I wanted to be a magic character and use a staff .. I think if you choose a character type expect to be able to use the weapon associated with character types.
I stopped playing due to the dagger and great sword meta on a magsorc a year back I was hitting 90k still using a staff but everyone else was hitting a hell of a lot harder using daggers and the great sword .. they ruined it for me doing all this .. if you wanna be a hybrid build they should bring out new classes designed for hybrid builds and leave my magsorc alone 😂😂
I’m not a role player I just picked my class and character as I wanted to play with a staff !!
I’m just glad there is something for players that want to use both staffs .. that’s what I enjoy
I don’t understand why people get so rude about a game it’s supposed to be fun 🤩 anyway I saw your comment about the maelstrom fire staff on the back bar swapping out hurricane and blockade I will give that a shot as I have just come back to the game after the whole dagger sword thing ..
saw this and thought I might give the whole dps testing a go again - I come back to quest Necrom which I’ve done now ..
I did notice when I come back my Magicka isn’t recovering well - still using depths and pillar of nirn I think I may swap it out for relequins I saw that your using (direct damage set)?? Am I right ?? I’m not fussed about getting over 100k damage I just want to be adequate for vet trials again ❤️
Thanks for the reply much appreciated
Nice.
Thanks!
race?
Doesn't matter really. This character is a High Elf. Khajiit, Dunmer are also strong.
Now I can play my sorc again.
Sorc with daggers aint a sorc.
Annoyed me so hard.
To be fair, Lightning Staff was always there - you could get 120k with it pretty easily. Daggers were just even stronger. Now that gap has shrunk.
@@NinjaPulls What Monster Set would work best in this build ? When not having the mythics?
@@zKriin Maw of the Infernal would be my first choice. The Daedroth gets buffed by Daedric Prey 💪

@@zKriin No you don't need Overload. Maybe 2-3k DPS loss on the dummy. In very short fights it can obviously add more, but it's definitely not necessary.
I just hate spamming frags
No sustain. I am dying constantly with this build
Sorry to hear that, but it's not the fault of the build. Sounds like you're missing Major Resolve or healing, or something else that should be provided. Also, sustain refers to resources, not survivability. Join the Discord and we can give you some tips.
Thx Zos for destroying the light staff. Goodbye ESO!
You didn’t even watch the video or glance at the thumbnail. Lightning Staves are BACK in a big way now.
This game sucks now... magica using 2h and daggers? Like wtf...
Did you read the thumbnail, let alone watch the video? Melee weapons have been meta for almost 2 years and now that's (somewhat) coming to an end. It was also never a problem. Nobody complained that Skyrim let you cast spells whilst holding a sword. I don't understand why a small minority get so outraged when ESO does the same thing.
Still a shitty meta....
