It is. You see, when you get out of the door when you are in that library, you decide to abandon her so... heartlessly. So when you return, it's assumed that you don't have a heart so, you wouldn't even care about her death either. In my opinion, when you go up stairs is more likely to do so, even when Rebecca is in danger, so when you come back, it would be your worst mistake ever, so I think that is why it's more dramatically dramatic haha
There's one last cutscene that actually shows Rebecca being killed by the hunter in the room with the drawer by getting her head hacked off. Not sure why this video didn't show that clip.

Upon entering this room, you will see the Hunter scene attacking Rebecca, and he will kill you without Chris's interference. When you enter the room, the scene hunter kills Rebecca in this scene, you do not fight over Chris to leave the room, and he just watch Hunter kill her. And I wanted to know how to activate this scene.

Rebecca seemed so weak in Resident Evil, but she was sweet and cute, and she was a Medic. I did a lot of different things in Resident Evil but I don't ever remember letting Rebecca come with me around the mansion. Once I returned to the mansion and saw those Hunters I was like "oh hail, no. Rebecca, you stay here."
In the PS version I managed to kill the snake with the rocket launcher. I'm not kidding. Never heard of anyone else ever doing it. The body prevented me from leaving the room and I had to reset. I even called my cousin to come round to see because I was sure no one would believe me!
