    Great video! I had asked myself the same questions too. In June I found a used V11 batch 4, just 3 months old and 600 km, in perfect condition, and I bought it immediately. I learned easily and without falling in a park in a roller skating rink. Now, after 4 months and 600 km in the park, on the dirt road, it seems to me that I was born on it, even the most inaccessible paths I do them in great safety. I am always very concentrated and well protected by the helmet, knee pads, shin guards and wrist guards, useful those times that, due to inexperience in off-road routes, I fell almost from a standstill. Protections are essential for safety, they must always be worn! The pros and cons of the V11 have been described very well in the video, but I have not yet encountered any bearing problems, despite my weight of 110 kg has put them to the test, but I do not make jumps or steps, except for the two that I go down every day leaving the gate where I live. I preferred to leave the limiter at 35 km/h, which is the maximum speed I set myself due to my weight to avoid cut-off risk, even if the wheel has always given me a feeling of great safety. I have the side pads, but I haven't mounted them yet, I first wanted to learn how to go without them, sooner or later I will mount them. To the defects of the v11, for those who do off-road, I would add that every now and then some sticks get stuck, complicated to remove, it has already happened to me twice. Although it is sturdy and comfortable, I have to complain of a discomfort in the legs during acceleration, which disappears as soon as I get off the wheel, or if I push with the inside of the legs instead of with the tip of my toes, or if I change the balance of the wheel to + 2%, but I think it's mostly my personal blood circulation problem. In conclusion, even if I learned directly with the V11, and I would do it again, it is certainly easier to learn with a more manageable wheel and lower pedals. The V11 is an excellent wheel well thought out in every part, absolutely recommended, it will make you feel happy, and it will be impossible for you not to spread your arms like an airplane. Many are coming out, but the V11 remains the one with the best quality/price ratio.

    I have a v11 too and I agree with many of the things you said. One of the things that was different for me was the wobbliness. For me this was the most wobble-resistant wheel that I have had. I found the S18 to be much more wobbly. Speaking of S18, I also found the ergonomics on this to fit my legs much better. I'm fine on it stock. With the S18, the upper part was pressing very hard on the sides of my legs. The most painful wheel I've experienced in that regard. And I found a gel pad to alleviate the pain, but now I feel like my legs are bowed on the S18.

    Thanks for your review. I've never ridden an Inmotion wheel before as they just seem to slow as I'm used to riding 30-35mph. That said, I was considering getting the V11 when it was announced, but so many reviews, like all of them, mentioned the bearings issue and then later the MB issue that I just said no way.

    Hey Lando. Victoria BC guy looking to make first purchase of a wheel to learn on and grow into. Being from Vic waterproofing is important as this will be my only transportation(other than my sunny days only Ghost Scooter) and my go too for cruising along the ocean. I have some back issues currently(thus no sitting in cars), so suspension would be favourable I’m guessing. I have been researching for too long so just need to do it. My concerns with V11 is build quality/durability for a learner as well as waterproofing and overall value for current prices.
    Also looking at 18XL as that seems good except no suspension but seemingly easier to learn on and with an Roll.nz armour sleeve on it, it is pretty much good to go. .Mostly riding “The Goose” but also on uneven city roads while commuting. Budget is good for either of these I just want to make a solid choice for learning and to serve me well for a while. That Master is looking pretty sweet, but I first need to see if I can even crawl before I can even think of flying. 😁
    I’m sure you get this often but any help or suggestion is appreciated. Will use your affiliate link/code at Eevees either way when I purchase, as you’re videos have been a big help. Cheers.

      Hey Vinny,
      There's two schools of thought and neither are wrong, but if you're not an experienced I would recommend starting with a second-hand beater wheel like a V8/V8F or a V10/V10F. You can often pick them up for $800-1200 CAD on marketplace and they're tanks.
      My buddy recently broke my V11 within the first 5 minutes of learning to ride. I had to order parts and do a lengthy repair. My other friend recently bought a V12HT for his first wheel, and damaged the wheel and himself a lot in the process of learning.
      You're going to fall, you're going to have "OH, SHIT!" moments. So I would recommend buying a slower, simple, wheel and some really nice safety gear and progress from there. You'll get those hard-learned lessons out of the way at a safer speed, and will greatly decrease the chances of breaking your shiny new wheel, or yourself later on.
      The best water-proof rating I'm aware of is the V12 series, but its not the best beginner wheel IMO.
      Cheers!

      @@landocycle Thank you for the reply. I appreciate your time and knowledge. There is a V10f locally but guy says its outer casing is super wrecked so unsure about waterproofing. So may have to go new as that is the only local one I can find. Last question is, out of V10F, 16X or 18XL, which would you recommend for learning/first wheel purchase? Thanks again.

      @@VinnyVonPapier I just saw a V10F for sale in Vancouver with 750km for $1,200. I'd get something that's already depreciated a lot so you can re-sell later on and not lose much or any money in the process.
      There's gonna be a lot of great wheels coming out in the next year so I'd buy a used IM or KS (Gotway/Begode not very water-proof) and ride it until the next generations come.
      Even non-IP rated EUCs can take a fair amount of rain. Just open them up once in a while to make sure they're still sealing, and always store them upright, in a room-temperature location.

      @VinnyVonPapier 2 роки тому

      @@landocycle Ya was hoping for a used wheel but getting all the way over to Vancouver from Victoria isn’t really an option for me right now sadly. Maybe that is the only way though, and I just need to figure out a way to get to Eevees to try a bunch out and look over there for a used one as well. 10f 16x and 18xL all seem highly rated for beginners with a bit of room to grow into before next big purchase, so will focus on those I guess.

    Great vid! The loss of range with a knobby is probably not that much from the tire itself. With a knobby you'll venture into terrains where you would normally would avoid.
    It's all the going through mud and sand, height differences etc of trails that take up a lot of battery.
    I'd be curious to know how much the difference is in 100% equal riding conditions.

    • @Laenthal
      @Laenthal Рік тому

      the default street tire for v11 (c1488) is the lightest tire of any, hence all the range on it. Any knobbies will be much heavier.

    Real useful video for my decsion making whilst shopping for a new wheel and I've been at this for the past 3 months. Really valuable to get a more in depth review based on time spent riding. The fact that you have two and you sold your s18 speaks volumes. Little concerned about the bearing and MB issues but reassuring to know the bearing isn't really a concern if you don't mind getting stuck in. (I don't) Also allured by the looks of the s18's and the better suspension, but range and speed lacking is a bit of a dealbreaker. Buying a second hand V11 with older FETs seems like the obvious choice for me now. Or just forego the suspension for the time being and buy a Nikola. Still appreciate the honest and in depth content, Lando. Cheers.

    Awsome. Nice assesment but isn't your updated top speed 34ish(55kmh? Mine is. You edited in saying 31mph....... My first speed alarm is 31mph.
    Also I agree with the pogo shocks. Im 250lbs and run 190psi and it was bad. I put silicone spray on the slides and that made it worse. Until,,,,,I took it apart for maintenance and realized the top shock chamber psi was way low. Corrected that and it was so smooth and so much better. Not S18 better but better. I wish those top valves were more accessible without taking the saddles apart.
    Love my V11. Accelerates fast enough for me and so far on the spot reliable. Offroad and off road. A little over 1700miles. No bearing issues and the plastic shock slides have been replaced.
    💯 % agree it does everything well.
