Thanks victor, just rebuilt my fuel distributor myself with absolutely 0 prior experience. Fixed my problems
I love your attention to detail, the only way to reliably repair anything.
susan marsden Hello Susan, this is not from my car, mine had a fuel leak between the injection pump and the stop solenoid which you can also see on here.
This distance between nut and plunger guide is strictly important as for measurement check guidelines for it. You need to get oem locking washer under
Great Video! Love the attention to details!
Very, VERY nicely done!
Bosch/Mercedes/Porsche/VW once upon a time had schools for mechanics in the US and would train mechanics and issue printed certificates. Instructors were usually from Germany.
If a party offers overhauls, but can't show any kind of certification/training or a printed certificate then I would be cautious. My certificate is dated from the seventies and the training was very valuable. I was able to diagnose issues and problems very rapidly and upon completion of the classes one of the first tools I bought was a small set of test tubes with marked graduations so I could meaure the discharge quantity of each line coming from the fuel distributor. I also built a switch to override the fuel pump relay for testing.
Haven't done a car in a long time, but still have the tools, except for the Sun exhaust gas analyser.
I even took a complete CIS unit from a Rabbit and converted a beetle engine to CIS injection by building a different intake manfold so the CIS unit could meter correctly and installed the correct pump and plumbing to the fuel tank.It worked very very well. If a shop does these units on a regular basis they should have a test stand and run the unit after rebuilding and be able to print out a sheet showing fuel flow numbers...Maybe time to restart doing that kind of work.
John Falkenstine Any chance any of your classmates or colleagues currently live in Hawaii?? I've got an 86 560sl running on 7cylinders... no fuel through one of the distributor ports!
Sorry, can't help you. Just buy a good unit.
John Falkenstine Hi John! Nice to read how good was your training!Where can I find really good diagnostic tools for CIS Jetronic systems ??? Thank you!

Cara kerja fuel dist w. 124 help me
I just bought a 1988 Mercedes SE that hasn't been run in 17 years. I replaced the fuel distributor and still cann't get fuel to the injector lines. It has lots of pressure. They had the intake and return lines on wrong so I changed them. The return line is working but still not getting the fuel to the injectors. Do you have any idea of what could be wrong and what I should do next. Thank You
Did you ever fix it?
Check the fuel tank screen, sending unit, fuel tank and assembly. If u haven't done so, check the fuel pump, filter and actuator to rule out the culprits and check the lines.
My name is Walt. I'll pay you. I think the rebuild kit is about $75 and what you charge for the labor time. Let me know where to ship it to. Thanks.
Hi victor.we I can buy the fuel distributor kits
I bought mine on eBay
@@vsandvs ok thks for information.sometime I see Ur video it very nice .
Since your video we have done over 41000 plus dollars in rebuilds. Some do ask about your video's but realize that a company can have a very few village idiots trying to commit extortion. We have only had a very few 3 to 4 complaints out of thousands. If a grand mow can buy her grand son a rebuild and him put it on in a few hours and have it running, why can't a village idiot. I would not let you work on my wheelbarrow.
I would never do any business with you after this comment. So GTFO.
rebuilt systems, watch Victors videos and you'll learn how to work on Mercedes fuel distributors and much more but you'll never be as good as Victor.
