- After spending the entire year in the Philippines... it was time to leave the country to be with my family.
Yup, as I type this, I have already left and am currently in Hawaii. My family wanted to spend their holidays from Canada here, so I came to meet them. My life in the Philippines is amazing. I am inspired, overwhelmed with happiness, and truly call the country my home. But sometimes, because I am so passionate about being there, I put aside other things in my life... like spending time with my family, and friends from over the years.
This is just a simple video from Hawaii. A life update now that I have left the Philippines.

Hi Eric, I've been living abroad for quite sometime and I am totally stranger to my own country and my own backyard. Kyle's vlogs made me realized what I'm missing. Visiting places he showcased need tons of money. Following his vlog made me feel like I am traveling, seeing places I never knew existed starting from the North going south. Totally agree with your comments.
Mom and Dad of Kyle, Thank you for believing in your son even though his leap of faith years ago seemed a bit foolish. My middle son is named Kyle too, and that's what caught my attention 6 years ago when I first started following your son here in UA-cam. Your son has been a blessing to me as I learn more about Filipino life... I married a wonderful lady from Cebu area, and she has watched him a long time too. Seems that the locals are blessed by his journeys there too. I'm coming my first time to Philippines in April next year, and I'm praying to meet your Kyle in person... You should be very proud to have raised such a nice kid;)

Still to happen but I would like to welcome you anyway - WELCOME TO THE PHILIPPINES Mr. & Mrs Jennermann! I'm so glad that you finally decided to visit Philippines. I think your coming has been on Kyle's mind for quite sometime as he mentioned in one of his videos. I was not actually vlogg follower but he captured my interest when I saw him in Atok, one of the town he stopped for the night, my father's hometown. Next day, he continued his trip to another town Abatan. I grew up in the area and I"m familiar with its surroundings. I thought, he was heading back to Manila and there's a way out instead of going back to Baguio city. I provided him the alternate route. Arm with the pathway knowledge, he got confident that he decided to go to the Mountain Provinces and drove deeper into the region that made me nervous. The thoughts and imagination he might come across while on the road made me so uncomfortable and I start blaming myself for providing him alternate routes and pathways. He was travelling alone and being a foreigner, it was not a good idea - I thought. He crisscrossed different towns in the Mountain Province, Abra, Ilocos and Cagayan valley as if as though he knew the pathway at the back of his hand. My worries made me realize to get in touch with my police relatives in La Union in case he needs help. When he announced the end of his solo touring after 21 days nonstop travelling, I felt as though a weight was lifted off my shoulders. I thought commenting on his vlogg ended after his trip but I was wrong. I became his avid follower. Every day, I anticipated new vlogg and curious as to where he is vlogging. His videos became my stress reliever and entertainment. By the way, I live in America. Kyle's trips and vlogging made me see places that I never knew existed in the Mountain Provinces, Abra, Ilocos and Cagayan valley regions including the Visayas and Mindanaos. He uncovered roads that need improvements and repairs. A messages to the politicians to start fixing the roads and streets for easy access for farmers bringing their produce to the market as well as for tourism. Another thing I found out was that, travelling in this part of the Philippines is very safe. One can use a scooter or a motorbike to roam around because pretty much, road connecting one area to another are paved which is a plus. People are so friendly and extremely helpful to visitors, kind hearted and welcoming families. Although, I was born in the Philippines, my history knowledge of my own country pretty much based on books. I learned a lot by just watching Kyle's vlogging and through his narration. Your son is a walking Historian and amazing tour guide based from his videos. You are in good hands. Have a good stay in the Philippines!

Lori Chilson, I followed Kulas' cordillera adventure as I grew up in Mankayan . Those mountain views were majestic..things we did not appreciate while we were growing up.
Kyle is sure a good ambassador for the Philippines. He has showcased many places many have never ventured to before.

Speaking of Mankayan, It never occurred to me that Mankayan and neighboring towns posses beautiful landscape. Hello to Kyle’s parents! I’d like to congratulate you for raising a great person in your son, Kyle. He is such a respectful gentleman that you must be really proud of. I say this because he has captured the hearts of the Becoming Filipino community. He has inspired me to plan a trip back to my homeland I last visited in 2006. He showed me, through his vlogs, how much I have missed by being away so long. What really caught my attention is how much he respects the culture of the Philippines, and in return, he has earned the respect and acceptance of the community. He has become more of a Filipino than some people I know, including myself. I'm a pretty private person also so my advice would be watch them and when they clam up, back off a little. You can tell when you're making people uncomfortable. Just because they are your parents, don't do that. It will make an awkward vlog in my opinion. I'd also not plan everything thing out for them. Give them a few ideas and read their reactions to see what seems to spark their interest the most. Even though they are your parents and you feel like you know them, you may be surprised what interest them the most in a new environment. With them already being nervous start them off in areas that they would feel 100% safe, then push them a little maybe. Also maybe don't cram "the Philippines" down their throats. You're very over the top passionate about the Philippines (even more so Mindanao) and that could turn them off if they already are a bit nervous about it. Be gentle and the awesomeness that is the Philippines will sell itself to them, I'm nearly 100% sure. Start them gently on adobo, pancit, scooters, big boats and so on before you push dried fish, tiny boats on the sea, toploaded jeepney rides and squatty potties on them...🤣

More like halo-halo without all the weird combo of stuff...haha I've only had a few halo-halos in the Philippines, but didn't care for them. My filipina wife thought I was crazy because of that...haha I liked parts of each of the ones I've tried, just not the whole of any of them. Just such odd combos of stuff. Like corn and beans in a dessert. And not a fan of the jelotiness stuff either. Just not a fan, but to each their own...haha

YAY, Mr & Mrs Jennerman, hope you will enjoy your trip. I have watched many of Kulas's vlogs and its very clear that your finally going to the Philippines means so much to Kulas. I dont normally watch vlogs but i was captivated by Kulas's perspectives. He exudes kindness and respect for all people. I like the interaction with all kinds of people, young kids, adults, old people (weaver in Northern Luzon for example). I have learned a lot about kindness and interacting with people just by watching him. He is the epitome of a color-blind, age-blind, etc human being. Besides, i am learning and enjoy learning about the Philippines and its people more than what i could learn on my own even though i grew up in the philippines and am now living in the United States.
Kulas, don't forget to bring pasalubong to Therine 😁😁😁 regarding your parents, bring them to Tagaytay, if they haven't visited the place yet.

Howdy Mr.&Mrs. Jennerman ! I am now living just beside BC for a number of years already. It's been years also that I'm following Kulas thru social media, and it makes me feels that I am in my beloved country every time I watched his YT videos (with this freezing temperature). I'm glad I was able to experienced your beautiful country with my family, simply because I like the scenery, experiences and good opportunities that it brings. But still, I never forget that I am a Filipino and continuously inculcating filipino cultures/traditions into my growing kids. News of natural disasters in the Phils, it also happens here. We have snow storm, hail, freezing rain, polar vortex, etc. About terrorism, it is isolated. You can see that on Kulas' adventures on what they say-"uncharted territories". Even local Filipinos are amazed where Kulas had been through and shared positivity around the country and the world (thru social media). Not all of us go through that opportunity and experiences. Enjoy and immersed into the Filipino cultures and food as well, specially in the province. From there, you will understand why Kulas chose the Philippines....Welcome to the our country ! ! ! Mr. and Mrs. JennermannYour son has definitely created something wonderful in this world. He exposes the greatness of the people, culture and land of the Philippines. I live in the U.S and have never been there. My wife is from there and she always hints about retiring back in the Philippines, and I always kindly brush it off and have never thought that much about it. And then I came across your sons videos on you tube. Watching his videos has totally changed my path in life and I'm not exaggerating one bit. Its a little premature but in the next year or two we plan on purchasing some land in northern Mindanao. I am a bamboo enthusiast and plan on retiring there with my own little bamboo plantation. It is crazy and truly amazing when I look back and see how much Kyle has influenced my direction in life from almost two years ago till now. Thank you Kyle for what you do and thank you Mr. and Mrs. Jennermann for bringing such a gifted and special person into this world to allow us all to see things in a new light. We have always been praying for your son's health stability and security.. Even if we had a long day we do our best to watch his vlogs as a means for us to support his art.. I agree with a lot of the comments here that Kyle or Kulas as his Filipino name is, more Filipino than most Filipinos including myself. He also inspired me to visit the Philippines more often and not be afraid to go to remote places. Kyle you are a one man walking, living advertisement for the Philippines. Thank you.

Kulas, kindly thank your parents for raising a good son who is now an ambassador of good vibes in the Philippines. The Philippines is like a durian fruit, covered with thorns & emits an unpleasant odor. However, if you open it you will be able to enjoy and savor the fruit inside. It is but normal to be scared to visit a country with outpouring negative presentation coming from the media. Let them experience the warmth of the people (besides the weather), safety of all the places you had visited trough out your 5 years journey, & the beautiful scenery the Philippines has to offer. Kulas, I had been following your journey from fb to yt because you are bringing me closer to my motherland the Philippines. Your videos brings me to places I never been to. Because of your videos Mindanao is in my bucket list.
Kyle, I work 14 hrs a day most of the time, never have I failed watching your becoming Filipino when I get home and patiently watch your sponsors though it irks me so bad, lol!!! Be safe and we love you and thank you for all you do.

Mr. and Mrs. Jennerman your son Kyle travels and vlogs in the Philippines has showed me how beautiful the Philippines is. I have not been able to travel where, Kyle has been in my country. Through his vlogs I feel like I have seen the places where he went. Go ahead and visit him, enjoy your stay we know that it's his wish. He is such a good guy, very positive outlook in life.
