That sounds lovely! Although not in London but my 19th floor Flat I grew up in had a great view of St Peters Church (Kind of a Tourist attraction in Sunderland)!
@@thornbird6768 Doesn't seem likely any time soon. Although it is a very old block of flats (or blocks rather as there are 3 identical blocks). Not much to love about it but the views were special. I never really appreciated that as a kid but I know noe that people would pay a lot of money to have those views that I took for granted. We could see the skyline of central london, the shard (only just been built at the time), tower bridge and city hall, canary wharf if you looked through the window at a certain angle and the london eye (the new year's fireworks display was always a treat!).
It's a big no from me. The entrance and view are amazing, but the layout is so odd. A random "dining room" pedestal when you walk in next to a living room / bar with a massive gravestone for a TV surroud. It's more like a quirky, boutique hotel suite than a £9miliioin home
Everybody's crapping on the design, but I kind of like it! The thing with these old buildings is that as time goes on, the spaces on the inside only get more chaotic. Could they have gone with a more contemporary layout? Sure. People hate architects when they do the same'ol ordinary, and yet, they also hate them when they do something bold! I'm not saying it's perfect, and, I do think that the center round table is a bit strange. But that being said, I love how different it is, and I love those rotating stain glass doors to the balcony. Realise that these places are built for people who have spare millions to blow(regardless of how fair it may or may not be), and that there a lot of them worldwide, and you'll begin to realise why there are so many places like this! I may never be able to afford a place like this, but I certainly appreciate some of these designs! Especially the ones that don't just go with the 'normal' architectural route.
The Anchor Brewhouse. I've been in that apartment socially - probably around 20 years ago - and whilst the location is spectacular, it is, without doubt, the single most impractical home I have ever been in ... which is probably why it has been on the market almost continuously for most of the last two decades. The price is Cloud Cuckooland, it will never go for anything like that and has never previously changed hands for even half that asking price. Structurally it is the same, but the interior design has been toned down a bit. I preferred the more gaudiesque atmosphere as it was previously because at least that suited all the curves. Ultimately though, there is no getting away from the fact that you have to go up and down curved stairs to do everything. It is the sort of place a lottery winner buys for the WOW-factor .. and then the reality of day-to-day living sets in.
Considering the 5-6million a apartment you showed recently, this is horrible, the other one had WAY better views, you could see a lot more, not as close but a lot more, and the interior was better too imo, this doesnt feel as expensive which is a shame considering it costs like 2 million more, not sure how much exactly the other one im talking about was Edit: not 2 million but almost 4 million more 😂
Saw a tour of this property on another channel but Matt and Summer your tour was 1000% better 👍🏾much more comprehensive and personable keep up the good work 😊
When I was younger (meaning more naive) I dreamt about an apartment with direct views of the Tower Bridge (you know, the kind of views you see on google, where they don't actually show the rest of the property). I learnt that that's just about impossible. Nevermind the price, but a nice, big enough apartment with good layout and decor is apparently too big of a feat. You would think that with such amazing location, they would at least try to make the property look just a little bit like it's worth the money to make you feel better.
Inflation in prices, and fake marketing that does not correspond to the reality of the local and global market and the crises that are going through. Real estate dealers are working all the time to convince people that everything is fine, and that the deals are profitable, and the reality is otherwise
It's very original that's for sure. I liked it. However there's no way I'd feel completely safe right up alongside the Thames with half the property being below the water line. The water only looked a couple of metres away, and let's not get started on water. Maybe the entrance hall is actually flooded from when the tide comes in. 😅 I also find the prices absolutely comical.
"I've never seen the bridge this close before". Try walking over it your mind will be blown! Would have been interesting to see the apartment from the bridge.
If you have money, this one is a must-buy. I can proudly afford that cushion. The dining area kinds of waters down how much space this apartment actually has. But even then it is a very nice one.
I'm seeing alot of hate for this home...maybe I'm broken, but I really like this OTT luxury womb...I think the theatrical touches like the entrance and circular dining, hanging out table is cool AF...the views are crazy...the velvety theatre room would be my #1 spot all day, watching Matt and Summer on the big screen...and throwing my trash off the balcony would save some time...because rich.
Wonder what happens in 50+ years time to the services . Will the water feature entrance still work. Will they still have the 24 hour concierge. Etc etc.. Compared to a country mansion which forever will stay strong.
You two always do a very good job viewing different properties---The finishes in the bathrooms are beautiful---the kitchen I would love if it had windows looking out---This property is not for everyone---I would enjoy it better if it were 10 floors up with more outside exposure
Summer I love that view of Tower Bridge from the balcony...I would sit there to eat my breakfast lunch & probably dinner. Not hugely struck on the rest of the place however.
Oh no no no. Just screams tacky nightclub and you can’t hear anything over the weird water feature. Imagine the smell if you opened the windows too 🤮🤮 I wouldn’t live here if they paid me the 9mil.
Love the location, but would be worried about potential flooding - it looks too low on the banks. Interior-wise, not my cup of tea; could have been with more of the traditional character or ultra-modern with clean lines. Just the same, great house tour guys - thanks!! 👍👍🥰

Love this apartment so much, it’s a real weekender entertaining pad. Great location and fabulous inside. Had my eye on this for a few months as it’s advertised online.
Most outrageous architecture I've ever seen :) definite yacht interior vibe to the design with the many split levels and circular central feature. I like metallized tiles and might incorporate it in my own house design. Has a certain festive flavor without being tacky. I've never seen the tiles they use here. The bridge view is a significant feature but if possible I would have emphasized that more. The arch pivot doors cramp the already modest space. Is the stained glass a fake window with artificial light or is it real? If at all possible that should be clear instead of the stained glass. If the view is unsightly in one direction I would have used fixed blinds to direct the view. Given that the apartment has a distinct basement feel, such a large window cannot under any circumstances be lost. Without that window the price does seem outrageously high. Seems more fitting for a club than a residence. One a wider note as advise to all cities, do not indulge misguided nostalgia, raze old industrial buildings instead of cementing those with gentrified prices that are almost impossible to undue later. Imagine how much nicer this apartment could be as a blank sheet design. Large windows and balcony to the bridge. Maybe even a dock for yachts. The window amount in this apartment is just critically too small for such an astronomical price. It's disheartening that something so enclosed is gentrified to this degree. The council people who decided the building should be preserved should be forced to live their and pay the price for a year. And then 20 years in the tower of London for crimes against humanity :)
Hi guys love the house tours. The parts showing tower bridge are blown out. The highlights are very strong. Do you guys use an ND filter for the camera?
I’m not crazy about that round, raised dining area and it seems so dark. With the lack of windows you’d think the colours in the main area/ bar area would be light and bright. I love the view of the bridge though. That’s fantastic.

You just have to love the proximity of the “beach” and the roomy “balcony” to spend that amount of money. I guess 🤷♂️
So they're asking 9 mil for the privilege of being able to see the turds floating down the Thames up close? 🤣🤣🤣
