the architect was brilliant...i am 72 and have lived around the world, seen a lot...be proud that you have preserved such a beautiful artwork for those to come...
At the start I wasn't sure about the near sparse interior but by the end I felt very relaxed watching it and noticing the beauty of the architectural details he spoke about. I can only imagine how serene they must feel living there. Beautiful!
In Norway, if you rent out less than half of the space in your primary home, the money you earn from renting is not taxed. Many people take advantage of this by creating small apartments in their basements. This rental income helps them pay off their mortgage gradually, which is what Espen was talking about.
This home is breathtaking. The appreciation for the home’s history while making it more efficient for modern day living was executed masterfully! A truly amazing experience watching this episode
I’m starting to appreciate more and more the minimal approach - its amazing how warm the home even without much furniture. Makes me realise how cluttered & over-filled with meaningless stuff most people’s houses are. Makes me want to do a big spring clean!
The exterior of the home is enchanting. Even though the interior design is extremely simple, I was hit that the lack of art very much makes one’s eyes roam to the beautiful and intricate trim work throughout the home. The only off-putting area was the dining room. The table and chairs looked way too much like an office conference room for my comfort. Finally, I wish the home could have been showcased last or this December. The beautiful Norwegian snowfall made me wax nostalgic for the holidays!
The neighborhood is a dream and the home is absolutely exquisite. Every detail from the floors to the pocket doors are perfection, this may be my favorite home I've ever seen!
Espen is clearly so thoughtful and shows great respect for the history of his home. I love how they even painted the kitchen with the type of paint they used back in the early 1900s.
IM SO GLAD THE CAMERA MAN ASKED ABOUT THE LIGHTS!! My mom and i fell in love and were waiting on our tippy toes that he would talk about it! Thank you so beautiful ❤
Thank you Luxury Home Show for featuring this beautiful home! Espen is such a lovely, warm guy. I understand his decision to keep such a beautiful home true to its original design and decor. So many homes follow “the trend” and begin to look “the same”. It was so refreshing to see something authentic to its history but brought up to today’s living requirements!
It’s too simple for me but I see what they were going for and can tell they love the house … that’s what makes the warmth in my opinion. Beautiful restoration.
I'm generally not a fan of minimalistic interiors but wow in this house everything is so well rounded with the different types of wood that it seems so very cozy nonetheless, I am in awe
I've never before felt so relaxed while watching a video of this kind. Every room is faultless. The staircase is divine. Even the attic and basement are incredible. Conserving history with now and beyond is great thinking. The outside is stunning. A thoughtful and outstanding work of art.
What an espetacular home. As an interior designer myself I appreciate all that they did. Amazing! The only thing i didn't like was that the dinning room looks like a conference room 9.8/10 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🔥🔥🔥
Exquisite. I can imagine how the feeling of the house shifts dramatically with the seasons, reflecting natural colors from outside.. Using office chairs as dining chairs is a brilliant idea.
First of all, it's a super nice home. Love the craftsmanship and the devotion to authenticity, the house looks stunning and all the original architectural details sing. Second of all, I really enjoyed the pace of this video, really allows the viewer to take in the details. Thanks for this treat!
I love Scandinavian traditional houses. Youve done an amazing renovation. Its beautiful. A friend from Göteborg has just bought a summerhouse at Marstrand....look forward to going to see it.... Cheers from Manchester 🍻😄
For et fabelaktig hjem! Denne episoden var så koselig og kjekk å se på. Espen, du er kjempe flinke og du har så feelgood vibe, jeg smilte gjennom hele videoen, takk:)
I'm glad you have found your dream, for me a house without art is not a home, it's a pallet for an architect to show who they are, whereas Art tells me who I am.
Impressive renovation. Great, admirable combination of respect for the house's historic features while updating the interiors for life today and the owners' preferences. Clever conversion of original doors to sliding doors. And nice he recognized the original architect. All terrific.
Beautiful, slow living home...👏 loved the snow scene during the shooting as well as the story of when he was 10 and got excited about the fridge. Very talented 🌹 thank you for the show.
What a beautiful home. So architecturally interesting, updated with great respect to original , thoutfully modernised . Fills serene, clean, calm. Bravo.
Love the house Espen very minimalistic, so much so you wouldn't think anyone lived there. That kitchen was supper empty not a kettle.. cookie jar.. spice rack..I was thinking your white picture in the kitchen, you could put some warm lighting behind it would look nice at night, nice glow coming from the sides. And you have to do something with the top floor and basement seems a waste of space .. Games room ? .. cinema ? .. But heyyy thanks for showing us round.👍
WOW. I would move right in and not change a thing. The juxtaposition of contemporary lighting and antique fittings give just the perfect tension needed in great design. Every surface in my Florida home is painted the same color white, but in different finishes, so I really appreciate his design aesthetic.
The Dining room hqs more of an office board room feel ….otherwise they did well with the restoration of the period features. Happy for them. Love the bones.
Wow!!!!! What an incredible home! I would love some art, but it's their minimalist vision and is beautiful. I did feel the upstairs landing was amazing , with its lines and arches and staircase and light fixtures. It really didn't need much. But yes that large wall would look wonderful with a piece of artwork. Even something simple like grays, taupes, ivory. That 3rd floor space was gorgeous! Yes a gym would be perfect up there. Just a perfect guy pad.
I think his genius was in the renovation- timeless and classy! I’m a maximalist, so I’d definitely want to add more live plants, accent colors, pictures and art. Nicely done! A++. Cheers from Florida
Stavanger is a place worth visiting. The renovation of this outstanding house is fantastic and a lot of interesting details. Nuura is a Danish brand, so Espen won't be arrested.
Such a stunning home in a beautiful setting. I love the respect paid to the restoration. What a gorgeous home to live in. Those fireplaces are amazing.
What a lovely home you’ve created. I am more of a traditionalist , and love art around, but this is so nice too. Enjoy your home. Yours from Florida, USA.
Even though I'm into colorful and fun I can still appreciate their minimalist style, but I can't believe they don't know what to do with that magnificent attic space. It would make a fabulous art studio! For some reason a workout space seems boring to me when it could be so grand. It would also make another spectacular guest bedroom. A game room? The ceilings are high and they don't have to duck, but, I suppose they have to choose what best suits their needs, but if it were me, it would most definitely become an incredible art studio. 🧚✨💫
Maybe they could camouflage a Samsung Frame TV with a vintage picture frame and make it sit in the room making sense with the period features of the house. Calm and homely place ❤
This house is spectacular, beautiful, simple, clean, etc. and all that, together with an architecture full of history, should really be an incredible experience every day. I congratulate this wonderful channel for showing us houses as beautiful as this one, without so many luxuries, simpler but beautiful, I hope one day they show another house like this one.
the architect was brilliant...i am 72 and have lived around the world, seen a lot...be proud that you have preserved such a beautiful artwork for those to come...
Beautiful home. The snow falling outside makes it magical.
This house is stunning! It makes me happy they have preserved so much of the original design. How fortunate they are to share this space.
At the start I wasn't sure about the near sparse interior but by the end I felt very relaxed watching it and noticing the beauty of the architectural details he spoke about. I can only imagine how serene they must feel living there. Beautiful!

Agreed. Thank you for you comment!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more beautiful home, love everything about it! What a dream!

That custom ironwork is goals, I'm no welder but designedbyai came through with fresh virtual landscaping looks for my pad.

Gorgeous ! Simple clean design. I love it !

Totally!
So stunning! Loving how they’ve made the original details really stand out. Wish more people honoured their houses the way these two do 👏👏
IM SO GLAD THE CAMERA MAN ASKED ABOUT THE LIGHTS!! My mom and i fell in love and were waiting on our tippy toes that he would talk about it! Thank you so beautiful ❤
Haha we wanted to know too! You’re welcome 😊

I'm crying- I love this house so much. Such care and appreciation of the original architecture. Truly special.
It’s too simple for me but I see what they were going for and can tell they love the house … that’s what makes the warmth in my opinion. Beautiful restoration.
Think actually it is a Nordic thing. Clean and simple
I love it! It's been beautifully restored. I only thing I don't like are the office chairs.
You took the thoughts right out of my head 😊
No, we Nordic people don't all love these ugly sparse decors. For these ugly greige interiors, I blame the Kardiashians.@@kimclarke5018
Same - but those fireplaces ❤
I'm generally not a fan of minimalistic interiors but wow in this house everything is so well rounded with the different types of wood that it seems so very cozy nonetheless, I am in awe
Very admirable, so much respect shown to the building.
Espen is so pleasant and welcoming, the next time I go to Norway I'd love to rent his apartment! Such a beautiful home 🤩🤩🤩
I've never before felt so relaxed while watching a video of this kind. Every room is faultless. The staircase is divine. Even the attic and basement are incredible.

The prettiest house!! So proud!!😍👏🏼
I love the respect given to original features.
Very very beautiful. Such a sympathetic restoration, the juxtaposition of old and new.
Calm and stylish….love love love it!❤️

I love how they kept the incredible wood detail in the home, and also how it was very simply decorated. The house feels homey and open. I love it!
This space made me like minimalism for the first time, thank you!
Such a sensitively done restoration! That is the most gorgeous residential staircase I have ever seen.
Very beautiful! Absolutely perfect! Love everything about this house and furnishings!
17:27 The house is magnificent, and the spiral staircase railing demonstrates, as if there was any doubt, that they once had an unbeatable taste ❤️
I’m a realtor and I appreciate the upgrades you’ve done with the house. Congratulations for the good work you have done 🎉🍾 Espen
That staircase is a thing of beauty
Your home is an absolute masterpiece! 🏆
Finally, designer who speaks my language, appreciates empty walls and let everything else shine. ❤
Fabulous! Very jealous of the house, the weather and living in Norway. 😍❄☃👍
A beautiful home it has a quiet elegance about it .
WOW, one of the most beautiful houses I’ve ever seen. I really appreciate their love to detail and dedication to conservation.
This house is beautiful, everything flows so well and it does not look overly ostentatious but you know it is well built.
This home is exquisite, but I think it would look even better with some gorgeous art. ❤
Pristine white in the winter and indoors (except for mahogany paneling, etc.), lush green outdoors in the summertime--stunning!!!
What a great video and what a lovely house and owner, a great way to spend half an hour, thankyou x
Glad you enjoyed it
I love Scandinavian traditional houses. Youve done an amazing renovation. Its beautiful. A friend from Göteborg has just bought a summerhouse at Marstrand....look forward to going to see it.... Cheers from Manchester 🍻😄
The architecture of this house is just gorgeous. What a great find.

Just beautiful. So simple and still very luxurious.

I gave up watching interior design for quite some years now because it's mostly dull consumerism with no depth but this video made my day, great work!
I know some people are DULL
Loved learning about the history of this house. The interior feels perfect to come home from the cold to.
Exceptionally Beautiful.
The Dining room hqs more of an office board room feel ….otherwise they did well with the restoration of the period features. Happy for them. Love the bones.

I love this house! 🏡 thank you for showing us 🤍⚪️🤍
Love the simplicity, elegance and attention to the detail. Bravo!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I can’t believe he has honey oak floors … people are getting rid of it but he has blended it really well!
So incredibly gorgeous! It takes great talent to create a space that is minimalist that it still invitingly cozy. Bravo!
A really gorgeous home full of character. I like the minimalist look. You’ve only just begun infusing your style of decor.👍❤️
Absolutely stunning! Love the owners love for interior design and respect and love for the home. Truly inspiring. Thank you for sharing.
Gorgeous restoration! Hope you enjoy your amazing home for the next 60 years! I love everything about it! Thanks so much for sharing
Working a house construction is a detailed intricate process. Thanks for the tour . Everything is light and airy.
Elegant house ! Few furniture ! All ideias are specific for each space. Congratulations from Brazil
The whole home is STUNNING! Very excited to see more of what they do!
I think his genius was in the renovation- timeless and classy! I’m a maximalist, so I’d definitely want to add more live plants, accent colors, pictures and art.
Nicely done! A++.
Cheers from Florida
Stunning. So tastefully done. LOVE ❤thank you for sharing
Gorgeous house.
Absolutely stunning home created by talented people. Episode rewatched. Episode saved for future inspiration.
Love this style so much better, then American farmhouse
Stavanger is a place worth visiting. The renovation of this outstanding house is fantastic and a lot of interesting details. Nuura is a Danish brand, so Espen won't be arrested.
Such a stunning home in a beautiful setting. I love the respect paid to the restoration. What a gorgeous home to live in. Those fireplaces are amazing.
The snow outside makes the Video so cosy⛄❄️🌨️☃️🏔️
What a lovely home you’ve created. I am more of a traditionalist , and love art around, but this is so nice too. Enjoy your home. Yours from Florida, USA.
Lovely property .
Gorgeous home. I'm so glad they kept the kitchen as one room, and not a part of the living area as is currently trendy.
Loved this showcase. Espen has such a great vibe about him and his talent is so obvious. Great content!!!! Many thanks!
Una casa che sembra un castello😍 Meravigliosa in tutto❤ Gusto e cura straordinarie. Complimenti
Great house, I love the fireplaces.
Love this house especially when the snow falls! And the art pieces are so clever, I may want to try and DIY that for my own place in the future too!
I just found this channel & i am enjoying the beautiful homes.
My favourite tour on all of UA-cam ❤❤
Beautiful! Love that the home is the star! Nothing else needed…😊
I love the round table and chairs in the kitchen!
I'm moving to Norway now. LOL. Anyway, you guys let the bones of the house shine and it does not feel like a typical designer house at all.
The entrance, the staircase and the hall are ssooo perfect!!!
Fabulous renovation! Very well done! Congratulations!
Absolutley loved it, very different from the usual, please more like these.
Even though I'm into colorful and fun I can still appreciate their minimalist style, but I can't believe they don't know what to do with that magnificent attic space. A simple but beautiful home that exudes a certain calmness just like the owner
Your house is beautiful. Thanks for the tour.
I love the bones of that home! The architecture and space. I am however a maximalist, but can still appreciate a good space.
Very simple decoration but it looks very nice! Many details in the construction of the house! Nice couple!
The decoration is too minimalist for me, but the design is exquisite. Just gorgeous, and in a beautiful setting.
This house is spectacular, beautiful, simple, clean, etc. and all that, together with an architecture full of history, should really be an incredible experience every day. Beautiful home. I love everything 💫
