Dani Would I be able to make a game under a month or so that is reasonably Good? Like I'm aiming for a Pokemon game ish style, for my genius hour project. I have two other people in my group but they don't know much about coding either or making art decals and such

Agreed. Most people don't think about the "behind the scenes" but it is a lot of work and time management to get everything done. But if it's fun it really doesn't feel like work. Also, it's a great feeling of accomplishment when you fix that one bug which has been driving you crazy for days!
Loll, I think it really comes down to the hours put in to learning. It doesn't matter though I found it's best to compare your own progress month after month because everyone (and everyone's game) is different. I've been using Unity for like 8 months now and I put in about 1,000 hours so far. The scary part is there is still so much more to learn. Good luck!
@@10k12-b7l If you're serious about it start tracking your progress, even if it's just as small as making a cube move. Most people give up before even starting. Keeping up motivation is a huge part of game dev. Especially indie where you often have to motivate yourself.
I also started learning unity half a year ago.. my games don't look this good yet Also a tip: make micro-games with 1 core mechanic to learn the engine, then eventually recycle all the assets for a newer, bigger project. Rinse and repeat.
That's definitely a great tip. Even when models are created in AAA games they just redo the textures/skins and it looks like a whole different model. I wrote this in a comment above but You may think your Unity skills are not good, but if you compare your progress month after month or will really start to see the results. All you need is to know what to google.Everything can be done from the documentation and the first page of google results. After that you need to adapt the code since there is no cookie cutter full solution :D
'How to' often gets way too many empty/unanswered threads asking the same question. I normally google something like 'Raycast from screen centre Unity' or something along those lines. Leaving out the how to normally gives more tutorial-esque results. But of course sometimes you need it.

This is really similar to how I started with unity!! And then I do it, say 'that was nice but now what do I do with it. And then I move on haha.

Very cool! Unity can be very addicting. It's such an easy tool to get things up and running which can be a great motivator. Your physics based game kind of reminded me of Little Big Planet. Although I also develop games, I haven't really messed with Unity's physics much. I understand this video is 4 years old and I'm sure you've progressed much more. I'll definitely check out your more recent videos. :)
Could you make like some tutorial playlist of everything you learned throught this 6 months
