    You might get you a lightweight aluminum ext. pole with a hook so that you can hook the line, pull it in and then net the fish. Just a suggestion.

    • @Kurtdog63
      @Kurtdog63  2 роки тому +2

      I have tried that but a hook will make you not be able to let go of it if it pulls too hard and it will rip the hook out. If you try to horse them in you might lose them.

    you need to get ya a hook lol. Fantastic catches though, love jugging :)

      I know some folks use the circle hooks, but they are kind pricey. Also if you are referring to hooking the jugs to pull them in, it is risky to use hook pole because you stand the chance of ripping the fish hook out of their mouth. With the net, you can let go if they pull too hard.

    I use a extended alum. rod with a hook to pull in my noodles. Consider trying it.

    I got a secret for big flathead. Put a leach on your hook and cover up the eye. Then put your bluegill on. The leach will wiggle making the bluegill more active.. it works like a charm 👍

      Turtles get most of the bait. There are some giants caught occasionally. One of my friends cleans and eats them.

    Noodles are too small for big fish . I also use circle hooks to match the size of the bait . Much better hook up ratio.

    • @Kurtdog63
      @Kurtdog63  Рік тому

      Have never caught any real big ones. Supposedly the smaller fish are the better eaters anyway. Caught some pretty big turtles. Large "jugs" are annoying to pack around and store. I used to use blue dense foam blocks as well, but the sinker weight flops around and they don't store/pack as easily.
