Qunary mage is extra extra heresy
This was my first dragon age game (I've since played origions) and I dident know anything about the setup lore, I also did a mage qunari and kept thinking to myself " wow these guys really hate me lmao"

@@craigarkensaw QunarI a race that invaded the continent and a spreading a completely different religion and as a result are hated while mages are just generally hated and distrusted. A Qunari mage would be the worst possible individual to play the role of God's chosen warrior.

In all seriousness though, as the (currently) de facto leader of the Inquisition, it's a wise choice to make sure hiring mercenaries won't tax your resources too heavily. After all, what good are mercenaries if your organization is suddenly so lacking for funds that it practically can't even function or afford to move assets around anymore?

+Elisabeth Hawke One of the few things I like in this game are the characters and dialogs. But this one felt about as forced as it gets out there. I gag everytime I hear those to try to pull of banter.
+Grammar Jew All Boiwaqre's games aer like that but yeah Character interaction and great stories aer definitely what Bioware's games are about.

Oh no. I did that. It's an amusing interaction that has no effect on the overall scene or game (you just go straight back to the other options and choose to hire him or not).

To judge by the Chantry Sister outside of the church at Haven, Bull is quite a capable physical opponent 😀
And no matter how hard i try with the editor: i'll never be able to create a Qunari inquisitor as cool as The Iron Bull.

You should try playing this as a hornless sophisticated qunari that believes he is the true prophet. Incredible also be on bad terms with bull.
It was so weird having a qunari like Bull who pretty much follows the qun like sten, but acts nothing like the qunari have been shown to act before.
He doesn't even have the eyes they gave qunari in DA2 and some comics and art
When you do Bull's mission (stopping venatori in storm coast) there's an option indicate that he's like having an existensial crisis between he's a mercenary and he's a ben-hassrath
Surprised there was no response to you being a mage, given how the Qunari treat them, maybe that comes later? Though the racial reactivity in this scene was very nice.
iron bull is the type qunari who knows that his government is fucked up beyond belief. it is fuctional but goes to depraved extremes to keep it going. anything that requires torture and brainwashing to work is something that is gonna destroy itself one day.

***** Thats a big fat fail from bioware... Not only for Bull's part, but the hole inquisitor design... A Saarebas without the mask, the sewn mouth.. and the others stuff. Even Tal-Vasho treat mages like this
LMFAO!! Bull looks so tiny!! I always play as an Elf because it doesn't feel right with the other races (also Solas) so i'm used to be in nipple lenght with Bull.. This was hilarious.

Man they really messed up with the Qunari looks in this game. Half of them look like horned potatoes.
PaperScraps It takes some time creating them appealing, but you have to do alot of customization.

While I don't like Qunari in general, I've given though of doing a female redhead Qunari mage for Bull.Unlike the other Qunari assholes Bull is pretty cool.

I find it hard to believe Cassandra and Leliana would think a Qunari mage could work as the leader of the Inquisition. More likely they would have advised a figurehead leader with your PC the power behind the scenes.
I expected a more reaction after seeing how mage is treated in Qun society lmao.

Darth Imperius But that's the point. They invented the awesome-looking qunari for DA2 because they felt the Origins ones were not good enough. But then why abandon their new awesome-looking qunari models of DA2 to return to more human-like guys in Inquisition?
They didnt use the horns on the qunari in DA1 because it was getting in the way of helmets and crap. so, sten got retooled into a rarity, hornless qunari. ._. he's also a leader in the qunari now. Bull chatters with verric about the hornless one.
Sten wasn't a rarity, every Qunari in Origins was hornless, the "rarity" thing only came up in Inquisition. Every mercenary you fight and Sten himself had no horns...many of them didn't even have helmets.

I think the whole "forcing it on us" thing, comes from being a big fan of the previous work. So, in a sense, you're 'forced' to deal with it, if you want to play your favorite series.
Lets take the incredibly feminine "Life is Strange" game. I'm sure many of the female audience would feel 'forced' upon, if the later chapters has you surrounded by frat boy idiots, and their cheerleader girl friends.
People don't like politically correct propaganda in their books,games, tv shows, etc. It doesn't mean you hate said group, just means its an annoyance that doesnt need to be there. Dont know why thats so hard for ppl to understand.
i like playing qunari problem is any conversation with a dwarf, elf, and the occasional human always has the camera tightly concentrated on my chest sometimes its quite funny but kind of annoying though i get the reason why i mean bioware intended the inquisitor to be human and added the whole different species thing later in development and it seems they didn't really iron out the problems with camera angles i mean a human or elf player may not have any camera probs but a dwarf or qunari player will i wonder how so many games are sold with so many problems right out the gate but can't complain with a bioware game the story kind of makes me forget the problems and usually that i am a living thing in the world or sometimes that i exist outside of the game

I want to try make a Female redhead Qunari and romance Iron Bull and see how he reacts. I'm now entirely certain that this game has something with redheads - Iron Bull's comment on them and also that Avvar guy who threw the goat at Skyhold: "A redhead mother guarantees a brat".

Still haven't gotten around to it, but now it occured to me that female Qunari may not be able to have hair, or just be able to be ginger (pretty sure Bull at some point says they dont have redheads in the Qun) but if that's the case then BioWare missed a great opportunity.

I always play a dwarf Warden and Inquisitor, in this dialogue scenes the qunari Inquisitor looks so freaking tall, his head is even missing in some parts. lol

a quick question. it seems like a lot of these companions can be recruited before you even get skyhold, how many in total can be recruited before that point?
All of them AFAIK. Getting to Skyhold is part of the main story quest. You can wait until you get the companions.

Like people said, you have to use the war table. If you complete them in the order you usually get them, Sera/Vivienne, Vivienne/Sera, Blackwall, and Iron Bull you should have enough power to complete the mission.

i was confused by this aswell but then i checked the origin story of the qunari inquisitor and turns out that the qunari u make was born OUTSIDE the qunari lands and has never even visited them. Considering these two facts i would assume nor he nor his parents are followers of the qun.
Bull actually points that the inquisitor is a Tal-Vashoth in one of the later conversations.

Scout the Storm Coast at the War Table. You'll find Iron Bull and the Chargers fighting on the beach not far from your initial camp in the region.

It's his personal choice of clothes, you can give him the heaviest and bullies armor, he will still find a way to wear clown pants
Those kind of pants are often worn by mercenaries because they're comfortable while also slightly hiding movements of the legs. Plus they fit Bull's style.

also i do believe than the Horns are a major issue there too.
I think I read from codex, that the face paint that qunari soldiers use hardens their skin, so that could also be the case

Okay so im playing da:o now and i wonded. Why did the qunari grow horns because sten deostn have them
some have horns... some dont. Qunari is only the religion anyway... The "race" is Kosinth (or something like that). There are theories that they may actually be "elves" that messed around with dragonsblood AGES ago... thus becoming larger, stronger, growing horns .... but retaining the pointy ears.
But thats all just "speculation" as George Bush would say :D

Nope, you missed him. Once Haven is destroyed you can no longer recruit Iron Bull, Vivienne, or Sera.

How do you trigger the quest to find and recruit him? Sorry if you get asked this often.
When you come back to Haven and walk to the Church, which is your main Base, then you will find Krem the "girl" in the armor with the military hairstyle waiting next to the door.
She will start talking to you about an offer from the "Chargers", you can either accept the quest, or slam the churches doors right in front of Krem´s nose.

bah the character creator is not rely great in this game. tried to make someone that looked like he would crack skulls for laughs.
But he what i ended up with was something hideous that loves makeup....
I made a Quanarri mage...because I thought it would be funny as well. I just thought who would be the least likely person to be a savior in Dragon Age and that's how I got my Inquisitor.
Qunari is fine and all. its the fact that everyone takes a qunari mage to troll the chantey i react to.
Just look at the race stat. 10% reduced physical damage, something that suits a warrior more than a mage imo.
Cant wait to see the face of the chantry when my future dwarf arise from the ashes.

Human origins are actually kind of interesting. Warrior and Rogue are Free Marcher nobles, which seems to give them a bit of a leg up in several political situations. Mages are from the same family, but were stuck in the Circle, thus they didn't have as much to do with the noble lifestyle, but they did end up being stuck firsthand in the Mage Rebellion, a situation none of the other origins have.
That actually sounds a cool if there is a political situation that only the human origin would be able to solve. i can imagine that the chantry would have no problem with a human being chosen by andrasta.
Ninnamin yeah the human noble origin really helps and also makes more sense during the big ball in the Winter Palace in Orlais. You get more dialogue options during the politics. That whole quest just reminded me of Game of Thrones, which was awesome.

The Qunari Inquisitor is only Qunari in as far as race is concerned, from a background standpoint they've never lived under the Qun at any point in their lives...so I can only assume that their parents were Qunari who managed to escape and make their own lives elsewhere.

That's up to you. I spent days doing side quests in the first open area but you can just go for the main quest stuff n get him pretty quickly (tutorial moutain, hitherland, to the chantry, storm coast, The Iron Bull)
Now.. I don't know if I actually want to romance this guy.. he seems amazing companion :D
My guy was meant to be a straight male (aka me in Dragon Age) but 5 minutes with The Iron Bull n I know he's gonna end up in my tent (my other choice was Sera but she's sadly not into guys) He's a major step up from Anders in DA2 (plus his talk on the Qun approach to sex cracked me up)
