- another video i made abt thoughts of my abuser .. what a world to live in !was originally going to do more oc related things about it but like. coriander is getting a beach day after my last video
truth be told i dont rly like ??care for canon warriors content too mcuh and its been way too long since i read the actual books so if anything in this pmv is out of character / just plain wrong just dont pay too much attention 🙏this hops between a lot of times in squilf’s life (starts with her before breaking up with ashfur, then her caring for the kits and trying to enjoy herself, fire scene, squirrelflights hope, the broken code with imposter bramble, anddd then just like ?starless clan at the end i guess) but i’ll probably put timestamps in the pinned comment with whats happening!
although idrc for the canon characs , squilf has always been a comfort charac to me and even more after experiencing my last ex (baffling how warriors accidentally portrayed such realistic abuse but) and is just generally one i can relate to a lot ig especially after it!!
while the writing in warriors is rly messy i do love her more abrasive personality and kind of wanted to highlight that in this pmv and how ash/bramble have damaged her into something much less of that! it flip flops a lot between her being geniunely frightened to pissed off at them both, but at the end shows her feeling defeated. she may no longer have to deal with a husband-possessing ex boyfriend but girlie is still depressed (she is in a bad relationship and had her life basically ruined by both of them)
I wanted to show squilf’s happiness & sense of peace more aimed at holly , jay, and lion instead of it being when bramble is not actively abusing her. really wished the books actually dived deeper into their relationship with them after she basically raised the three instead of her one with bramble so i make up for it with drawing her happy together with them

timestamps explaining what the hell is going on here!!!
0:08 : squirrel in her “courting” stage with ash. while she seems happy on the surface , she feels something is off, especially when met with bramble’s disapproving eyes.
0:19 : following the last scene, squirrel “breaks up” with ashfur, but tries to mend it and keep it on good terms. ash doesn’t take this well. it hurts squirrel, but she tries to focus on greener pastures instead
0:31 : squirrel caring for the three , she’s finally truly content and happy with them
0:34 : but god says nuh uh… fire scene❤ squirrel probably got the face scratch from running and hitting something idk but hey cool trivia the face scratch is actually based on the one i have irl
0:41 : a “what could’ve been” esc scenario as squirrelflight pictures a life that she wants, one where her and the three are all happy. but she knows she has to tell the truth to ashfur to spare them, even if it means permanently burning all four of those bridges
0:48 : squirrelflight’s hope scene where she just straight up dies or something idk i havent read this book in ages .. bramble (and jayfeathers there too) is mourning her
0:51 : while bramble and squirrel’s relationship was difficult and abusive, as far as most cats in thunderclan are concerned, it was going okay. jayfeather tells bramble he was a good mate to squirrelflight, even if she knows that wasn’t the case
0:53 : earlier on with her and bramble fighting (or maybe afterwards when they get into a argument again idk
I love how you can feel how tired Squirrelflight is, that she has tried so hard and look at what happened. I hate seeing how much she has changed in response to the world around her, because she used to be a sweet chatterbox and now she is just a shell of herself, harsh and abrasive in an attempt to protect what little remains of herself she still has. I feel it’s such a perfect portrayal of her relationships, that she is understandably upset at the cats who completely destroyed her life.
Also I’m literally about to make a pmv with her with the song things to do and ashfur and Brambleclaw say “you are just a Kit you are no warrior” and I feel like that also embodies this pmv that she is never seen as a person and just a useless mewling Kit by bramble and ash

Haven't seen much of the Mountain Goats in Warrior Cats.
Aside from that, the facial expressions are drawn incredibly well, and I admire the use of blurs to show focus to specific characters, as well as the visible differences in their body languages.

1. but i do have a question that i’ve had for a while ; i’m not sure if you use procreate but i’m giving this a shot , if you DO use procreate , how do you time the animation with the music ??? like i just can’t get the movement to match with the music .
2. when you get the smooth parts like the amv parts , how do you make it so smooth ?? thank you !!

1. I use procreate! honestly i just . guess where the movements should be LMAO a lot of them are purely coincidental with how they match the songs! (edit: if you meant how the pmv itself generally fits, i edit the images/animations together using capcut!)
2: usually just the use of inbetweens and such!, i dont rly have a huge secret to this one since i learned via just .. slowing down the animations of animators/studios i looked up to and taking mental notes on it :] very much a experiment with what works best for you thing since theres a few different ways to animate!

i saw no squirrels fighting or flying. me and my buds are disappointed immeasurably. i recommend that next time you pump out an animation, you look at the anatomy of squirrels for once, and consider if they have ears and tails like a cat
