HDV Tape vs Harddrive - XL-H1s' Tape vs Digital Recorder, head-to-head comparison

‪@WaybackRewind‬ - I compare the same footage shot to the original HDV tape and an external recorder. The external recorder has significantly better specs, but is there a visual difference? I provide the side by side video and let me know in the comments if you can see a difference.
My Firewire connection was kind of janky and the freezes you see are not on the tape. I'm not sure if it was the camera or the cable, or MPEG-2 over Firewire that was the issue, but I've never had an issue in the past with DV.
