The problem with seats, as you well know, is that "wet" stains like these go down into the foam under the seat surface. So you get the top clean and that nasty creeps back up to the top. It's a never ending story. Thanks for the always entertaining details!

As someone who detailed for 12 years I can't tell you how many people would come to our shop and have this exact horror story, or worse. Some even had gone to Car Toys which offers a "Premium full detail" that costs, no joke, $999.99... and one guy brought us his brand new Camaro, like less than 3 months since he bought it, and they had basically just washed the outside which looked fine, but on the inside instead of cleaning the panels they had just sprayed every black panel with some kind of extremely oily sticky paint/concealant or something, even my boss who has owned the detail shop for over 35 years had never seen anything like it and none of us knew WTF it was, but which must have looked fine when they first sprayed it and returned it to him but once it dried, it left these obvious wavy patterns of where they had sprayed it. It was insane. I had the fun of very carefully removing all of this oily crap carefully with a steamer and tons of cloths to not let it drip or splatter anywhere else in the car, and returning it to looking brand new; it took me over four straight hours of just working on the dash, center console and doors.
      Ridiculous

  • @user_mahmed

The main issue is the seat fabric quality.
I have a similar Ford Escape and the cloth seats stain SUPER easily even with water spills.
The brown stains are definitely nasty spills but the grey stains are what is caused by water.

Nice job, Mitch 👍 I agree that the interior is 100 times better than before. I'm sure the owner was surprised at how nice it looks after you worked your magic.
    Happy Easter, my friend!

I ALWAYS clean/detail the inside first. Otherwise Ill be tracking water, and dirt from the ground into the cabin while trying to clean it.
But, youre the one with 3.5M subscribers, so Ill defer to you...awesome job man!! This may be the best interior transformation youve had

Greetings from France. Not that this has anything to do with cars but, I have to deep clean and detail holiday homes after Americans have been staying and the state of the houses after they have left beggars belief. It is especially difficult if it is a same day changeover. How they manage to turn a house into a midden in a week defies description. I won't go into detail about the state of the bathrooms! The cleanest guests are in order: Germans, Dutch, French, the dirtiest are Russians, Eastern Europeans, Americans and finally the British. Having watched your videos over time it has helped no end in the way I tackle the clean. I have picked up no end of very useful tips from you. Thank you Mitch.

Hello Mitch, have you ever thought about getting the slurry water tested in order to find out what comprised the stains? or is that too scary an idea to know.
Another amazing transformation - you have really streamlined your processes as the times have reduced significantly from 16-18 hours down to ~ 11 hours

When you use the steamer on the door cards, the nastiness just goes back into the cracks. You could move a towel along and in front of the steamer to catch that stuff from going back into the door.

@TheDetailGeek can you please make a basic recommendation video on products for a weekly/monthly routine car care example: where I live pressure washers are expensive so what garden hose and attachments can you recommend and also what chemicals can I buy/use to get roughly the same paint correction results as your details and also optional/bonus products that we can get to achieve the same results as your details.
Would like to hear what you think, keep on with the great content👍

I have a 2008 escape. The driver and passenger seat stains are from either the sunroof or the door molding. I had the same issue with mine, getting a detail soon for it. All I did was reseal the sunroof and bend the door frame to realign itself

I cleaned a car up once that had really dirty seats in it. I did what you did first and wasn't happy with the results so I took the seat covers off the seat and cleaned the inside of them and then put them back on after they dried. They looked brand new after that.
