Yes!!! This is such a great video for learning to teach frisbee!!! Love how this was broken down. Sara is one of my two favorite trainers.... Zak, of course you are the other one. Thank you for continuing to posts videos on You Tube. I’ve watched every single one.
Awesome video. I love when you bring sara on board. I saw her for the first time on your other vid. She is a fun guest and her dogs are awesome. I think it would be cool to see some more videos with both of you later on teaching some of those more advanced frisbee tricks. Step by step.
Hey Zak! I thought it was awesome when you made the comment that, when you saw a dog doing multi frisbee catches you were hooked on it. It was the same for me except with one of your old frisbee UA-cam videos. Thanks for being such a great role model!!
This helps so much! I've been dying to teach my dog frisbee to do vault and teach her tricks without food. And she's not very toy driven so the first bit helped a lot!
I'm getting an Australian shepherd on Sunday, my dad wanted me to get a border collie but I was just in love with the Australian breed. He said he always wanted to play frisbee with a border collie of his own ever since he was 5-12 until he moved and he never got one. My goal is to teach Koda how to play frisbee so my dad can have that experience he never got.
This looks like so much fun! I can’t wait to go out and buy a couple frisbees and start teaching my Jack Russell. She likes nothing more than fetching a ball and/or playing tug-o-war. So this is two of her favourite games in one.
Love this video! Thanks Zak for all the Sara Carson videos, I love how you have included all the Super Collies. Can't wait to see the next one featuring Stark. ;)
My husband and I have been trying to teach this but we have been doing it all wrong. So thx for this video.. going to def try this.. and I’ll let you know
Love this! I started last night with my dog I need to get more frisbees though! Looking forward to going through all the steps, ty for the video! Update: My dog is now insane with frisbees he loves it so much! These steps worked great!
Thank you SO much for this video. Have been trying to transition my dog to frisbee from just catching the ball and I had no idea how to do it. I have her chasing the frisbee and bringing it back but not reliably. I would love to get her to do what you are teaching with multiple frisbees. She is a VERY high energy dog and the more I can teach her the better it is for both of us. I enjoy all your videos and your book. Have you considered doing a book for more advanced dogs/owners. The dog training revolution was good but about half was devoted to new dog owners. Many of us are beyond that stage now and looking toward more advanced training.
Awesome!! Frisbees is one of my favorite way to exercise my dog. Doesn't damage the joints from fast stops and breaks as throwing balls does! Plus it looks cool :D
Where can I get some of those frisbees? My local stores tend to carry the chuck it and rubber frisbees, which are great for fetch with my 9 month border collies. Need something with a bit more float and hang time so they can catch them easier
This has helped me so much. I am getting my puppy used to the frisbee. She so far playing with it and chewing it. I think it is an early step to getting her used to the frisbee. 😂
Hey Zak! Your videos are so helpful and amazing, thank you so much! I recently got a puppy. She is 7-week old beagle, Tara. Do you think this is a good time to start training her? Can you also recommend some good training treats for a puppy that young? She is an excessive play bitter and loves to chew on anything and everything. Please address these questions in your next video, it'd be so helpful.
The right time to start training is the day you bring her home. Every interaction is training whether you intend it to be or not. A tiny pup does fine with tiny pieces of chicken (e.g. the size of a grain of rice). All your questions are addressed in previous Zak George Videos. Search the puppy basics videos to get rolling, and enjoy your puppy
Once you've got your dog jumping up to get the frisbee out of your hand, how do you stop her from jumping at you the second you have the frisbee back in your hand again, once you take it back from her? I want to progress to throwing it up now, but she thinks the game is to leap and grab it from my hand.
Love this video, im teaching my nine month old Spanish dog Frisbee because i have always wanted to play Frisbee with a dog, now he loves graving them but i have a problem with getting him to leave the one he has and go to the other one, anyone has any advice on how to do it?
I have a dog who was not interested in any toys in the least when I got him, but now he loves to play fetch with tennis balls, sticks, pine cones, etc. I am hoping to teach him to play frisbee!
Hey, i talked to you about my new australian shepherd puppy a few months ago. Hes almost 6 months old, and we havnt had any problems until this week. Twice this week, hes scratched a hole in our dry wall. This is the first time hes done anything like this, and i dont have any clue why. We walk him 3 times a day, and he has plenty of toys in his play pen. If you could help us figure this out that would be awesome
I am training a young Dobergirly to do Agility using tuggy as a reward do you think think she would transition to the frisbee as I would love to see her do that, add to that she is a fantastic catcher as opposed to our older Dobe (the one in my profile pic who is a great Agility Dobe) as she can't catch for toffee.
Do you have any videos on introducing a playful puppy to a Christmas Tree? we are getting close to that time of year and my puppy thinks he should chew, grab or drag everything.
I suck at throwing frisbees, they are always sharply curving in the direction of whichever hand I threw it from. Sometimes to the point of travelling in the opposite direction that I threw it.
That was really good. I have seen videos by world champions not break it down into steps like you guys did. Can you do more on this. maybe how to teach vaulting ect... Thanks
Trying to train my VERY high energy labradoodle how to play frisbee (maybe even well enough to compete in the county fair next year). I was wondering if it’s a good idea to incorporate a clicker into frisbee training? Thanks!
Zak!! Im having issues with my 8mo pit mix. In the process of teaching fetch to help with his high energy, but he jumps straight from tugging on the rope toy to tugging on me! We had a handle on his play-biting for a while, but he just gets so excited when we play he starts play-biting at me and loses all interest in the toys.
hi zak! do you think my puppy will be a good frisbee dog when she gets bigger? her aim isn't great but speed is fairly good but she will get faster. she loves to chase thing and as soon a i first through a toy she garbed it and brought it back. i don't know if that matters but if you read and answer thanks for the help!!!
Thanks so much I want to train my dog to play frisbee. I am having a problem that my 1yr old dog will chew on the frisbee after she gets it even if i try to distract her with the second frisbee. Any recommendations?
Zac i have a one year old pit boxer mix, and I've been teaching him tricks with the help of your great videos but i was wondering if theres any that could hurt him, he's learning "sit pretty " right now,, he's doing great but could it hurt his back since he's a little heavy?
Adriana Hernandez I know i'm not Zak but I also have a pitbull boxer mix ( he's also a bit of blue heeler too ) and I thought I should answer. You're dog should be fine as long as he doesn't lean onto one of his legs and sits straight instead, it can hurt his back later in the future. Also i suggest you should take him to a puppy class, just for the socialization bit.
I have 3 dogs One dog is like “Get the frisbee outta my face” The other one is like “Yeah sure, I’ll play for like 10 seconds” And the other one is like “MY FRISBEE NO TOUCHYYY!”
Hey Zak! Frisbee specific question for you. I play disc golf as a hobby and plan on training our new puppy to "caddy" for me, which essentially consists of staying still while I throw discs toward a basket hundreds of feet away. It would be awesome if I could also teach our pup to play catch with a frisbee as well when we are in a different environment. Would trying to train both of these behaviors be too much to ask? I could imagine a dog having difficulty distinguishing between the two activities. Thanks!
I’m having trouble getting her to really go after it. She’ll catch it if I’m holding it in the air no problem and play tug with it too but if I hover it she kind of just stares at it til it falls to the floor then picks it up.
Zoe Purcell If your existing dog doesn’t like dogs then no. Not only are you risking them having fights, but even if they do get along your new dog will likely copy your existing dog in becoming reactive/aggressive. I would find a behaviourist to work on your existing dog’s problems, then once they are okay with other dogs and trained to a good standard think about introducing a new dog.
This is weird. I was at the pet shop and saw a frisbee for sale and told myself I need to train my dog to play frisbee. Then this video was uploaded. I believed that Zac is looking at me through my dogs eyes. Watching me every second
Steps: Dragging Tugging Drop by showing the other one Grab it -> takes Hoovering throwing it up in place= low Dog going around you = lure and reward when they take it Catch in the air
Capture calmness. Reward them when they are calm, exercise them more. Separate them if they are being too playful to discourage the behavior in the future.
i have been using your videos and others to train him but you are the only one that teaches things well enough for me to teach it to my dog.
Yes!!! This is such a great video for learning to teach frisbee!!! Love how this was broken down. Sara is one of my two favorite trainers.... Zak, of course you are the other one. Thank you for continuing to posts videos on You Tube. I’ve watched every single one.

My husband has always wanted a “frisbee dog”, I’m going to start teaching my 9 month old pup this right away! Thanks Zak and Sara!
Hey did you teach your dog? Did he learn?
Zach loveee you !!! You helped me teach Lily how to ring potty bells 🔔 and so many things when Lily was little 💗💗
Hey Zak! I thought it was awesome when you made the comment that, when you saw a dog doing multi frisbee catches you were hooked on it. It was the same for me except with one of your old frisbee UA-cam videos. Thanks for being such a great role model!!

Did you succeed?
Aw that’s so sweet, I hope you succeeded❤
This looks like so much fun! I can’t wait to go out and buy a couple frisbees and start teaching my Jack Russell. She likes nothing more than fetching a ball and/or playing tug-o-war. So this is two of her favourite games in one.
That random 2 second shot of the pup on her feet cracked me up!😁😁😁
Sarah you and. Your dogs are just awesome. I was really hoping you were going to win AGT!
I loved your live chat. THANKS SO MUCH!
Pet_ Lover19 nice sir
Good

I am excited to get a border collie this spring!! Definitely using your videos to help the training process
you should they do help a lot
i mean the videos, idk how border collies are but inertia i think is a border collie. (from this channel)
Love this video! Thanks Zak for all the Sara Carson videos, I love how you have included all the Super Collies. Can't wait to see the next one featuring Stark. ;)
I love the cruelty free trading and love love the "play" ideas with Sara. my puppy is 5 months. we are totally enjoying your methods and ideas.
My husband and I have been trying to teach this but we have been doing it all wrong. So thx for this video.. going to def try this.. and I’ll let you know

Update: My dog is now insane with frisbees he loves it so much! These steps worked great!
I've been binging all your videos, and this was by far your best outfit hahah
Hi Zak, I love your videos! Thanks to you, my new corgi is very well trained!
Here from the live feed- thanks for answering my question about Gertrude!
Thank you SO much for this video. Have been trying to transition my dog to frisbee from just catching the ball and I had no idea how to do it. OMG! This is fantastic! Can’t wait to try it with my dog.
SO cool!! Fantastic info and breakdown; thank you so much. Wish me luck training my rescue galgo to chase a frisbee (instead of rabbits)!
Thanks!☺️☺️
What do you do when a dog is more interested in chewing the frisbee and running around with it than let it go and take the other one?
Get a new dog
I would like to start the frisbee thing with my 8 month dog, what brand should I buy?
Awesome!! Frisbees is one of my favorite way to exercise my dog. Doesn't damage the joints from fast stops and breaks as throwing balls does! Plus it looks cool :D

Which brand would you recommend for frisbees?
Hero disc
This is fantastic, I started teaching my pup frisbee only yesterday :)
Thank you for making this video it means so much to me

Hyperflite specializes in competition, dog flying discs: hyperflite.com/
literally love this page
What type and where can I get good frisbees from
Once you've got your dog jumping up to get the frisbee out of your hand, how do you stop her from jumping at you the second you have the frisbee back in your hand again, once you take it back from her? I want to progress to throwing it up now, but she thinks the game is to leap and grab it from my hand.
I have a pomsky pup. Has anyone trained a small or similar breed to catch frisbee?
What are the best Frisbees to get. My German Sheppard Mix kills them when she catches them.
SHE CAUGHT IT! First, Second and Fifth catch - rewarded with pumpkin in her Kong 🙂 I celebrate! 🤩
Zak plz like my comments I watch your vids a lot because we’re getting another puppy soon I can’t wait
What type of frisbee do you use? Where can I purchase them? The kong brand I have bends and it’s a bit heavy
Love this video, im teaching my nine month old Spanish dog Frisbee because i have always wanted to play Frisbee with a dog, now he loves graving them but i have a problem with getting him to leave the one he has and go to the other one, anyone has any advice on how to do it?

OK after 2 days of doing these instructions ua-cam.com/video/35Dc9X2e70k/v-deo.html Thank you very much.
Can u make a video about what to buy for your puppy 🐶 if you’re getting a puppy for the first time...
Do you have any videos on introducing a playful puppy to a Christmas Tree? we are getting close to that time of year and my puppy thinks he should chew, grab or drag everything.
Do you use special frisbees for dogs?
My dog has over bite. Will this make it a lot harder for him to catch it?
Great video, thanks! What frisbees do you use? I see so many different ones: silicone, rubber, flexible, rigid etc... which is best? thanks :^)

very good video, thanks. if the pace would be slower , that would be a great, it all goes very fast, the action and the talking

Is jumping to catch a safe activity for a Golden Retriever?
This is weird. I was at the pet shop and saw a frisbee for sale and told myself I need to train my dog to play frisbee. Then this video was uploaded. I believed that Zac is looking at me through my dogs eyes. Watching me every second
crazy
Marvel is beautiful and incredible at tricks! She's brilliant!!! Nice video!
Steps:

Catch in the air
Can a corgi play frisbee ?
What brand of frisbees?
what brand are those frisbees?
would it be a bad idea to play frisbee with a dog that has mild luxating patella ?
I started getting her into frisbee without thinking about it
Awesome video thanks Zak
Zak.. Do you still have Borders? I never see you work them anymore.............
Do dachsunds catch frisbees? Anyone heard or seen that? I have a Mimi who could maybe learn. Do anything differently?
Quick questio: how do u stop exessive play/fighting for 5 months old brothers
Lucella thank u very much ill give it a try
Your welcome 👋
Definitely exercise them more :)
GoldenWolf248 ok,will do
Capture calmness. Reward them when they are calm, exercise them more. Separate them if they are being too playful to discourage the behavior in the future.
How do I make my chihuahua to do that?
Frisbee has many memories for me and my boy Dax, it’s my worry that one day he won’t be able to run and jump to catch this rubber toy.
