Such a good idea! We usually pack for a week, when we go backpacking. I couldn't help thinking how much you actually packed for the trip, so I would love to hear what became useful during the trip, and what could have been left at home :-) Do you travel with a first aid kit as well? That's probably the one thing that takes up the most of the space in our backpacks :-P And then souvenirs on the way back ;-)
haha its a bit hard because we are packing for so many different climates and this trip is going to be 3 months long! Definitly agreed we overpacked but sometimes you just need those big thick jumpers!
Those bags are HUGE! Hey we all learn at some point what is too much! :) I have not backpacked that long before! Although it would be nice to have all the stuff you need! SOOO excited for the new vlogs!
+Heather M hahaha the bags are so big aren't they! But they needed to hold a lot of technology as well as clothes so we have an excuse right :P

I cannot wait for these vlogs to come out! The salt flats of Uyuni? Wow! That is like on top of my bucketlist! And the timing is perfect because if its rain season you'll get that cool reflection for your photo shots, if not it just looks like white sand, but it will be freezing cold!
Loved this video and was hoping you could do a debrief or successes/failures in your packing. Watching, it looks like it was colder than you anticipated? What did you wish you had brought?
I hiked the Salkantay trail in Peru with broken in Aisics tennis shoes and I was fine :) I studied abroad in Peru for 6 weeks and it was by far the coolest thing I've ever done. A tip for Peru: they speak Spanish more slowly than other countries, so it is a nice place to study Spanish. Amuata Spanish School there is really good and also functions as a hostel.
I've been backpacking in Australia for 5 months and I am missing the "laundry bag" in your video. I also really liked having some carabiner hooks on my backpack, you can basically attach anything to them. Shoes, clothes that need to dry...
I'm going to south america doing a similar tour to what you guys done in about 3 weeks. You mention you would let us know how suitable your runners were for the inca trail. How did you find them? Cos I'm facing the same dilemma to bring walking shoes or not? Love you videos xx
Ahh have such a great time, did a one month family trip/visit family at the start of year in South America and loved it. Feel the struggle with packing for all climates 😱 so worth it though :) Peru, Bolivia and mums home Brazil were some faves!! So excited to see your thoughts and your amazing content 😊❤
Have fun you guys. You two look like us when we were forced to live with poor farmers, which we had no idea how. The difference is that you two do it on your own will.
Dang Thats a lot of stuff!! I fly to Rio next week and backpacking for 6 months in South America... I'm literally taking a small backpack that weighs less than 10KG. Carry on only :)
Hi, my partner and I are leaving to South America in 3 weeks and haven't bought a bag yet. How did you go with the one you got on ebay? Does that one fit in the cabin?
Flying The Nest also that fire alarm chirping had me checking my place everytime I heard it 😂😂 I knew I just replaced the batteries not too long ago so I was very confused!
We look ahead! The countries we are visiting don't seem too bad with it all! Plus we are crossing a lot of borders by bus which is way less strict than plane!
Brav-e-o. I Use and U. S. army duffle bag on a trip to Kenya years ago. I had it filled to the brim with a lot of strange items as I was not sure what I was in for. Be careful with the Mosquitos on your trip. Please be safe.
Hey guys i was wondering how do you guys make money while traveling? How do you manage to afford all of that? I have a dream to travel like you guys but i have no idea how to do it without going completely broke?..
Way too many clothes guys. Check out hiking vids for advice. You need 3 socks. One to sleep in only and two to change up. Try Darn tuff socks, they have a lifetime guarantee. Good wool socks. Get a good pair of non waterproof trail runners. They dry fast and other than a pair of thongs or sandles. It's all you need. Get a good hiking pillow. Great for everywhere. It's clean and good for planes too. Look on Amazon for smaller refillable bottles for creams and shampoos etc. A good light backpack around 38 litres is enough if you pack well. Means you can take it every Where, including on the plane, so no lost luggage, no storing stuff. Have heaps of tips if you want more. Enjoy guys.
I thought you guys might have second thoughts after seeing that giant 'ANACONDA' sign! :D I hope your whole trip goes swimmingly well and the internet is kind to you.
Haha I was thinking the same thing! 90L is HUGE, but at least you have plenty of room to buy cool things to bring home! :) I've been travelling for 4 months in a 40L backpack and while it has its benefits, after collecting things along the trip I can't fit everything in!
way too much stuff, too many duplicates. Missing a med kit. On the trail, you don't have to keep changing clothes all the time. It's unlikely that you will have a chance to have a wash, everyone stinks on the trail, it's acceptable. Considering you aren't bringing any hiking shelter I'd say 60L max. That being said I'd like to see the "after" list, after you got rid of half the stuff. Ignore my pessimism and have a great trip !
+Truth Seeker they have a medical kit for emergencys! Try filming a travel show and wanting to wear the same clothes! Also we were allowed 5L and 2.5 was the sleeping bag so I think we did pretty good 😊
True, I've never posted vids on youtube. Only speaking from experience backpacking, and watching other vlogers on here, who live on the road. This does seem like your first trip of this type. so I'd like to see what your packlist looks like at the end. Enjoy your trip, i love SA!
You should do an "after the trip" video where you tell us if all this stuff was actually useful :)
good idea!

Great idea :) maybe we can do a Livestream? We haven't done one in sooo long!
haha its a bit hard because we are packing for so many different climates and this trip is going to be 3 months long! Definitly agreed we overpacked but sometimes you just need those big thick jumpers!
Woohoo! Can finally share with you our next trip! 2 months backpacking through South America!! This is what we packed :)
you should do an after the trip "what we shouldn't have packed or packed instead video"
Hiking is so fun and relaxing at times. These info vlogs are great.
+Lachlan Neil ah glad we could help :) this is our first time doing anything like this so will let you know how we go :)

saving does wonders
Have fun you guys. You two look like us when we were forced to live with poor farmers, which we had no idea how. The difference is that you two do it on your own will.

We look ahead! The countries we are visiting don't seem too bad with it all! Plus we are crossing a lot of borders by bus which is way less strict than plane!
