This form of singing fascinated me in all forms of singing back in '91. It truly changes the way one hears everyone's voices, every instrument, every sound that's around and so on. I overtone sing every day.
Imagine how magical it is to have a group of people overtone singing together: primal, cooperative, creative improv', enchanting :-D

Has anyone here seen Avi Kaplan do this? He's the bass singer in Pentatonix and he does overtone singing at concerts sometimes. They never brought it up during The Sing-Off, so I didn't notice until much later, but he also does overtone singing during a lot of the performances, including the first one. (ua-cam.com/video/9STdbGrfCLA/v-deo.html at 2:48 is a good time to hear it.) After I saw Anna-Maria's first video, I found a recording of an interview where Avi explained how he does it, and I learned from that. It's a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to learning how to make the overtones louder.
