Strawberry had so much potential in this game but ended up being disappointing. I don’t understand why it didn’t at least have a saloon. It absolutely should have had a gunsmith, being it’s a frontier town expected to host tourists for hunting and outdoor activities. That town feels the most like the frontier towns of the American west, particularly around California, Oregon and Idaho. It would have been great to have a backstory as a gold rush town in the 1850s, turned tourist attraction after building some wealth. Either way, it leaves so much to be desired. It has two hotels. The second one should absolutely have had a restaurant/saloon in it and there should have been a sportsman’s shop, basically a gunsmith that also sold bait and fishing supplies. This would have really made it feel like it’s own town with more depth. Personally, it’s my favorite town in the game because of its architecture and landscape. I just wish they had made it a little bit more developed because it really does nail the frontier town, which didn’t really get the credit it was due.
I hear you, but that was kind of the point of Strawberry. It's meant to be Mayor Timmins' utopian dream but, like most utopian ideologies turned reality, essentially a lie and a disappointment. Part of that dream is it being a "clean" (dry) town, hence why there is no saloon. I'm pretty sure even the general store doesn't sell liquor over the counter, and why it's "side business" is the illegal moonshine operation in the basement. A saloon wouldn't have made sense, but obviously the town still has plenty of issues... So basically the fact that you found it disappointing makes perfect sense, even from the game developers POV
@@filgus497 Yeah, I get it, but that’s not entirely accurate. There are several buildings in that down that are inaccessible, but were built there (doctor, bait shop, a second hotel even). But that entire storyline was kind of a disappointment. At the very least, there should have been a gunsmith there. Maybe even a barber shop. It would have been a lot more interesting if the mayor ran on a platform of making the place civilized and chic while it ended up being an outdoorsmen’s destination, overrun with trappers, fishermen and hunters. It also would have made more sense for the trapper to be situated there. It just left me wishing it had been more than just a nod at the old west gold rush towns and they had actually done something there. I feel like Van Horn, which was an ACTUAL failed city, had more to offer between the fence, the saloon and the hotel. Strawberry really should have been better and maybe even a little bit bigger.
IM bummed that in RDO R* decided to not include property ownership. in 2019 people found in the coding plans for there to be properties to buy with gold. The most expensive was a mansion in Saint Denis (600gb) amongst 5 other locations. One of them was in Strawberry and it was either the mayors house (across from sheriff, seen here 01:08) or an apartment. I wouldnt mind Skinnys house (where Micah gets his guns back) or the creeper / peeping Tom house (across from post office, where the paper boy is, see 02:42) as a place to call home
Oh. And the house of the guy with the lost dog. Isn’t that the house Micah goes into and kills the residents of to get his guns back? And the kid here says the dog’s the closest thing to family he’s got left. That’s sad but also a brilliant little detail. lol.
@@ImaSMACKHEAD982 Yes, back then there was a gold glitch error in the story, which I made good use of. but despite all the money I'm too stingy to spend money on it. even for the horses that you can buy i'm too stingy and only get them thanks to the mistake with the carriage. Drive in with a carriage, shoot and then if someone is looking for you or if you are determined, get off the carriage, feed the most expensive horse and then get out of the stable and run away and whistle for the horse and it's yours

Is it possible to sleep in the hotel for free even in Saint Denis? it would be cool if you could make a video about it too
So after the guy murders the fake medicine man, can you then hogtie him and brim him to the sheriff? You did just catch a murderer, right
You forgot the card that the mayor carries an NPC in the epilogue.
also the farmer's hat that is stolen from Strawberry's NPC's.
So there wasn't anything around the stables?
Holy crap how did I miss that side shop robbery
I messed up and accidentally shot the shopkeeper before he told me where the stash was. And my last manual save was 2 hours earlier I'm super annoyed
