You know my commentary Derek. I play the long game. So, I try not to be impulsive. But the past three nights, whenever that bullpen door opens, I hear the Benny Hill music playing in my head.

Some of Juan Soto's opposite-field tanks rival those of many right-handed hitters pulled homers, he never ceases to amaze.
I hope Hal's talk about reducing team payroll is something he has no intention of making good on, like a 600-pound man telling anybody who'll listen that he's going to start eating healthier because he wants to lose some weight.
Here's hoping Gil can prevail in today's Battle of the Luises.

I miss the days of the Old Boss, George Steinbrenner. No expense was ever spared and it worked! Soto must finish his career as a Yankee. His influence, along with Judge, on Dominguez is absolutely priceless. That's a financial problem any team would want. I agree that Gleyber won't be back but man, you gotta spend to win. Hal has got to figure out how to sign Soto. The staff can focus this season on developing Oswald Peraza and Dominguez so that the middle infield and corner OF is secure for the future.

Ever since soto signed, yankess have changed..soto is the piece... and you can see it.
If Soto is back here’s some possible changes:
Torres out - Peraza in
Verdugo out - Dominguez in
Rizzo out - Rice/Rumfeld in (maybe)
Holmes out - ?
That’s around 53 million dollars (including Donaldson’s contract) Soto is making 31 million. So that’s 85 million say Soto gets 50 million that’s 35 million to fill those spots minus arb increases new probably lower level signings. Most of Hicks contract will be gone after 25 Then DJL 26, and Big G after 27 money is coming off if the kids do pan out that some more big paydays in the future but that’s a worry for another time

Do not give Moore or railey anything to hit. Make the rest of the ms beat you. Tonkin looked okay got a couple ks and trudged through 2 innings. I can tell he sucks though, he's been cut 3 times this year, spent entire seasons in Mexico and Japan before that. He's one of those change of pace guys like the rays always have. Good for throwing the opposition off the scent when they are looking for tips which they obviously are since they hit Holmes readily but were stifled by the likes of Tonkin.
