I took my nieces there on their last weekend of being open. Brought back so many memories.
That is awesome your nieces got to experience it! :-)
Funny how you uploaded this video today when I randomly thought of kiddieland
Hope my video made you smile thinking of Kiddieland memories! :-)
Oh wow!!! I did not know the sign was there! I gotta swing by and check this out! I went here alot as a kid and even had a job there when I was in High School.
@ahwayzcool4630 it's pretty cool and worth checking out. I've heard it's deteriorated a bit more since I filmed this.
@memoriesbywayne The Little Dipper Rollercoaster 🎢 is at Six Flags Great America now. My brother and I got on it 2 weeks ago for old times sake. Brought back some good memories.
@ahwayzcool4630 yes, glad it stayed local. I haven't been to GA in many, many years. I'm glad it was saved. The steam train is in Indiana. I have videos of that. Diesel train still I'm private storage far as I'm aware.
I loved that place
Me too! A staple of my childhood! :-)
Remember going to this place like 4 times that I can remember mostly loved the train that circled the park........👍🤝👏😎❤❤❤
The train was by far my favorite part and best memory!
Not really sure why I said "epic" so many times. Your guess is as good as mine lol.
I wanna cry but I’m not going to lol. I’m 30years old and I wish I could have gone in 2009 before they closed because this place was such a great place for me as a shorty. I used to love the old town cars ride around the park that was my favorite 🥹
I have a video posted of two train trips in 2009. I basically grew up here. 2009 was an emotional year. I'm especially sad my kids never got to experience Kiddieland.
HI Wayne, what an awesome video. I miss the Kiddieland amusement park so much. I visited he amusement park often with family and really enjoyed it. The antique carousel was a piece of art. My favorites the train, the scooters ( bumper cars) and the little dipper roller coaster. That little lawn mower riding tractor ride were awesome! Do you remember that? rode at kiddieland?
Thank you! Grew up going there and remember all those rides. My favorite by far the train! :-)
HI Wayne I grew up watching Son of Svengoolie on WFLD 32 do you remember that show?
Yes, I did watch it from time to time. Check out the cosplay contests in my Midwest Gaming Classic Playlist. Svengoolie guest hosted them. :-)
Yep, great memories of growing up nearby. Plus the go-karts, golf driving ranges, Skip's Drive-in, 76 Lanes bowling all nearby.
Some of that I may be too young to remember lol but many good memories for me there. Especially the train! :-)
The listed activities are not at Kiddieland, just nearby fun options now gone, last I looked.
Thank you, yes I totally understand. I sorta remember the skating rink in the area. But that is about it.
Heyyyy I’m from Northlake too
Awesome! Great to meet you fellow Northlaker! :-)
But does anyone remember Dispensa's Kiddie Kingdom, which closed in 1984 and is now the site of the Oakbrook Terrace Tower?
I know the Oakbrook Terrace Tower well, but I would have been very little when that closed. Surprisingly though I have never heard of that.
Too bad the didn't keep the lighted crown at the top of the pole
Yes, would have been an awesome display if the full thing had been lit up there!
I saw a picture of what happened to the pole. It’s now laying in a storage/scrap yard in Melrose Park rusting away
