Yoyoka's drumming has a calm confidence that is much more than just chops. It feels like listening to a wise, old jazz drummer. Ripping that hard without frothing up the water is miraculous.

I am still amazed at Yoyoka's ability to fit into Jazz so quickly, and I am still amazed at her truly limitless ability.
She has been playing Jazz for less than two years, right? How is this possible?
Every day I am thankful for the happiness of being able to watch the metamorphosis of a genius in real time.
"Smooth" doesn't begin to describe this. Everyone's playing is fantastic, but Yoyoka's ultra-steady smoothness is borderline miraculous. Not just a great technical player, but an amazing interpreter of music. So excited to see her growing all the time!🤩

Never was a jazz fan but yoyoka has opened my ears.
I've never been a fan of Jazz myself, although I don't totally dislike it like Rap or that twangy country stuff. But since it was Yoyoka playing, I listened to the whole thing once.
Hristo Vitchev is a worldclass guitarist.
Glad she's playing jazz, it's good refinement.
On the other hand, I hope she stays pretty much clear of it. It may be a chance to show off how good she is but modern jazz is - for 95% of the population - boring.

Just coming from "Good Lovin' Gone Bad" to this. Whew!
Only a few drummers have such a large and diverse repertoire as Yoyoka. She is like a self-programming drum computer. Now it is nice to see her developing her own musical identity.
Come for Yoyoka, stay for the absolutely incredible Jazz!
Ken's hairdo tells us what this is all about - music! In parts they visit Steely Dan ground with beautiful tight syncopations but always move away from the commercial trail into the jungle of alternative choices. Yoyo can't miss. Her soft drumming is constantly evolving grounded in her signature feel for universal time
The opening is very 'tasty'. The whole piece is 'ear nutrition'. Very well conceived and executed changes of mood.

I am so very impressed with The Ken Okeda Group. I think these musicians are the perfect fit for you and you all compliment each other well. I am still blown away that you are playing in a professional band of this caliber at such a young age and clearly belonging there! You never cease to amaze young lady!
I am assuming Mr. Okeda is doing the writing and arranging for his group but, others may be contributing tunes as well? Whatever the case the tunes you guys perform are great. REALLY impressed with this quintet. I look forward to the chance to catch you guys live at some point.

同感ですね。大規模なジャズフェスにも出演して欲しい。
よく引き合いに出されるキッズや女性ドラマーも上手いけど、よよかはなんか頭一つ出てる。
カヴァー曲でも、なんか必死こいてコピーするのではなく、一度聴いて雰囲気掴んだら自然とオリジナルに近いリズム、フレーズを叩けちゃう感じがする。
だから完コピでなくオリジナルと少し違うのだけど、またそれがイイ。
次が楽しみで仕方ない😊

Like many occasions where YOYOKA is uncomfortable with praise she danced around the question, Ken writes the songs etc. but bottom line she is creating the drums to suit the band and song.
Wow! Such an intuitive player. Love those double bass kicks she manages to work in seamlessly. Can't get the Bonham out of her.

What a band. Wow. Seems complete now with Murray. YOYOKA so at home. Able to play now in any ensemble any size. Some nice big band chops and we know from the Final Fantasy tracks full orchestra style too. When can I buy this album?

Fusion has nothing to do with "kick ass" and the sound fits perfectly. Also the guitarist don’t sound like Richie Blackmore.
