@@ashleyseybolt man, I’m so glad they’re back, I wasn’t really into them when I was growing up, I discovered them back in 2007 when I was nine years old. I’m 26 now and I appreciate them a lot more, how old are you?
I met the band in 2010 in London (02 Arena day 1) and it was an amazing experience. They performed 3 songs to around 120 of us prior to the main show, the guitars came directly from the amps on the stage (not the big speakers) and we were way up close. You could feel Rob's cymbal hits going through your chest and they topped the studio version of From The Inside. The bittersweet part was, that was the day I saw Chester had a depression or anxiety problem.. he was very reserved with fans and sat on the end of the meet and greet table after coming out a few minutes after the other guys. He looked unwell. He needed a bit of convincing to perform the The Messenger to us from Mike, and it moves me to think of it now. You can find it on UA-cam. When I heard he was gone, I accepted it within a second and thought back to that. Chester was very anxious about what people thought of him, and I think he found it difficult to try and please everyone. He was a good dude who just lived in his own head too much.
I was invited to this too but couldn't get to LA in such short notice from the UK. I have managed to get 4 tickets to the London concert on the 24th, super excited!
Ohh my,if there was any concert I could of gone to,this was it,I cried all the way through on youtube( big softy),you were there,so lucky,well-done you❤
Hey Ashley I also went to the secret show! Great recap of the event. Just like you I had to fly from out of state to make it to LA and it was SO WORTH IT. Couldn’t believe I went from staring at a countdown timer during my lunch break to seeing the return of Linkin Park in person the next week in LA. It had been 7 years since there was a Linkin Park show. And it was livestreamed to the whole world. Once in a lifetime experience for sure. So grateful to have been part of the concert and the whole experience.
Stoked you found it worth it, too! It’s insane how far people came from. I met several from Europe and even a guy from Australia that day! Such dedication! I even found friends I had made in 2017 during the local memorials and the memorial show had also showed up.
@@ashleyseybolt Wow that’s awesome! I also went to a memorial in 2017. I heard someone came from Australia and people came from out of the country at the LA event but I didn’t meet them. I made a friend there and talked to some other people as well. Most of the people I talked to were locals.
I was there too! Right across from Colin :) I flew in from DC the day of and left that night then went straight to work in the morning friday 😅 i was exhausted, but the experience was so worth it.
No way! We literally did the same thing! Flew in from NY day of and was back home by 10:30 am Friday to be to work by 11:30 😂 I honestly didn’t have a solid sleep til Sunday and crashed so hard.
That’s awesome! After this, I have to wait til the 2025 shows. Brooklyn is closest to me, but the timeframe was too short to be able to pull off another day off work lol. Enjoy the show! I checked out the Kia Forum in LA recording and am blown away with the set!
I think it was a ‘thank you’ for having still paid for LPU the last few years with not much for incentive. But it’s only $10/year. Not like we noticed that money gone lol
It's very exciting to see you tell the whole story, I can see how emotional you get and how much a fan you are. I've been a fan of Linkin Park since 2007, I've followed all of the band's work since then. I only got to see them once in 2014 and it was incredible. Unfortunately I couldn't atend to this show because I live in Brazil and wasn't a LPU member, but I'm very happy to see your excitement about the band's return, they deserve this come back and seeing the happiness on each of their faces is something that makes me very very happy. Chester would really be proud. On a sidenote, you are really pretty and beautiful! 🥰
The only time I got to see then with Chester was also 2014. My 2015 and 2017 shows were cancelled. You should look into the LPU going forward. It’s super cheap to be a part of and now that they are active again, there will be loads of benefits.
congrats. I didnt know about this exclusive fanclub. I only knew a friend back in the days who got an invitation to a show for 1000 people only and he could bring a friend. that was back in 2005+ . maybe it was also part of the fanclub thing. thanks for sharing your story, meanwhile Im crying everytime I hear emily screaming so furiously. love her.
Thanks for sharing, I can see in your eyes that this is gonna be one of your most memorable events in life, or at least for me it was and I watch them on YT streaming
It’s right up there with my first LP concert, the memorial show, and meeting Mike on his Post Traumatic tour. The band sure has a way of making things that incredible for fans to remember for life.
@@ashleyseybolt Yep I saw LP in 2012, met Mike at the Post Traumatic tour in 2018, and went to the secret LA show in 2024. All 3 of those are very special memories for me. I’m looking forward to potential U.S. tours & hopefully some full band meet in greet opportunities in the years to come!
@@scottkordziel3590 Agreed! I was supposed to have the full band meet and greet in 2017, but that obviously didn't happen. I'm super excited they are back into it. My brother was too young to do a lot of the events I did between 2014-2018 as he was still in school. Now we can do them together.
@@ashleyseybolt Nice! I had good tickets for the One More Light tour with my brother in 2017 before it was cancelled. I got to see the Post Traumatic tour and my first LP concert with him. Linkin Park has done a great job at connecting with the fans through LPU, their website challenges, livestreams, meet and greets, concerts, etc. There are so many UA-cam fan channels, UA-cam covers/remixes/mashups, or even fans who’ve made studio versions of alternate song arrangements they perform in concert. The LP community really is one of a kind and it’s so cool to see how many dedicated fans there are. And now we’re back!
On the way there- a lot of anticipation, what we thought it was going to be, where are we going… Returning- a lot of excitement for the album and tour, people preordering the album, coordinating meet-ups and trying to go to more shows together.
Very cool story! I only found out about them from UA-cam and watched the show that you were so fortunate to have gone to. Became a LPU member again and booked my ticket for Seoul, since I so fortunately will be there on vacation during that time. I also saw them last in 2014 at the Gorge which was an awesome venue. Never thought I'd be able to see them again, but here we are. So happy that Emily is part of the LP family now. She's a great fit for the band and I can't wait to see her live like you did 🤘
Wow Ashley. You would have really enjoyed Linkin Park when they first came out and gave us great music for nearly twenty years. I love the new era also.
I’ve been a fan since i was very little. I was 2 when Hybrid Theory came out and have listened to them my whole life! The first show I was able to go to was 2014. Then my 2015 and 2017 shows were cancelled. I was at the Hollywood Bowl for the memorial show and saw Mike 3 times since. Even did the meet and greet and he designed my first tattoo. Im just excited to keep having these experiences. My brother has also listened to them his whole life but missed out on some of the opportunities I got since he was younger. Now we get to do them together.
Definitely super discreetly, even with those who went! One thing I forgot to mention in the video was we had to sign a lot of waivers and consent forms agreeing to being shuttled, photographed and more and we still weren’t sure what we were committing to.
@@ashleyseybolt Definitely thought we might be in a music video for a new song based on the waivers. The new song and full concert being performed with all the announcements was the ideal outcome!
Im from KMK the first band to ever take LP on tour. Stoked to see them back at it but couldn't they find a singer that is not apart of an abusive human trafficking cult?
to be honest emily does not fit any of the old music vocals crack, stop singing thu songs and vocals gave out 😅 im hoping the album is good but highly doubt it 😂😂😂😂 and im a HUGE L.P fan but yea anyother female cover i heard was better then her
To each their own. She definitely performed better at the Kia Forum from what I saw. These are definitely big shoes to fill and she was clearly nervous that day. I will reserve judgement on her place in the band til I hear her songs on the album.
@ashleyseybolt tbh the studio version of these *new songs* will always sound better then live but her singing live even in dead sara sounds like a bad karaoke singer unfortunately but as long as mike n Emily can fool a few million thats all the need really isnt it?
I'm so sick and tired of the Gen Z fans. They seem to think they are better than the original fans-specifically, the teenagers from the 2000s who supported the band for many years. They have a weak mentality, believing that if they express their emotions more intensely about the band getting back together, it somehow makes them more important fans who care more than others. It's also frustrating how they act like cultists, thinking that any criticism of the band will diminish their status as fans. The band truly lost its essence when Chester passed away, and that's the reality. Now we have Mike Shinoda and his new projects, but I don't trust or agree with his decision-making going forward. Additionally, I doubt the band will survive once the initial excitement wears off, especially with a divided fan base.
Gen Xer here, and i say,"Get bent minority." The majority have spoken, and they were a loud as f**k. Linkin park will be just fine, emily is a fantastic addition. She brings the fire ,passion, and edge this band needs to continue. The band knows this, and so do the fans. So if you don't like it, don't listen. You won't be missed
I don’t think there is a barrier to sign up for LPU because I was 17 when I signed up and I am not finding anything in T&C that says there is an age restriction now. I think its just certain events, like this show, are 18+
@@ashleyseybolt Oh wow. I was scammed when I was 16 by a big founder of my local LP fan community, but then I even felt guilty, because that age restriction for LPU membership existed, and that founder of the community just turned his "ignore all messages" mode on for me immediately after receiving my money. I could just get a membership straight from LPU if I were 18+. That was with LPU 6
I bought my bundle at a show in 2014, so LPU 13, and was able to register at home. Then the next year I was able to just use my card to renew. Sorry the guy near you was scamming, thats not cool!
