I tried it myself and then realized that is very difficult for me, But very NORMAL for him. This song still hits hard...
I had to listen to this again after watching the new vocalist sing numb. Damn, every note Chester hits is a treat in the ear.

That was always what drew me to them. If you want to hear screaming scream or look elsewhere, but it won't be melodic the way he seamlessly did time and again.

Just revisiting the original track after hearing 'Numb' by Emily. I almost forgot how perfect Chester's voice was. Its was powerful, and full of raw emotion. Damn, too good to be true. 😢

Part of the reason it hits different besides the obvious is they had to adjust the key to match her vocal range. It pretty apparent by the main beat in the intro with it being higher notes. I definitely prefer the original key at the moment.

They were on a tour as a support band with metallica here. The crowd probably didn't know their songs so well and it was a new album at the time
it really is hard to comprehend how incredibly talented this man was, he was absolutely the greatest in the world at doing what he did in his time, with no exaggeration, and probably hasnt been surpassed since.
Probably the only singer that sounds live exactly like on the recorded songs, incredible performance and talent!

I want to say to all those who write that origanl cannot be replaced, LP is dead. Look at Mike's happy face during the performance. To the smile of this strong, kind, talented man. Chester would be proud of his friends, his family, who found the strength to create again, go on stage and enjoy it. He would be happy to see that his work has found a new life. So let's be with the band, let's love them and support them on a new path!

yes, sept 2024.. and no longer :( I can't do the new lead singing Chesters lines and very very close to mimicking him, I have a mental illness, bipolar 1 disorder.. and Chester helps me in my episodes. He will not be mimicked, and I will always listen to him. I'm in the boat with rob bourdon.
