The Predator 4550 is a great generator and this generator will also have the Tri-fuel treatment. Hopefully in the next few months I'll have a kit out. Feel free to stay in touch.
It’s around 60 DB, but that’s only measured at 25% load. Most folks use the generator at 80% load which makes its DB rating useless if you want super quiet. If you want no noise your better off with battery backup with BMS.
Is there no shutoff for the propane in the event that you want or need to run gasoline? I like the access panel. Nice job. Also like that there are no holes cut in the unit anywhere.
Unfortuanly we do not have kits finished up for this generator. We have this genset on hand with a porotype mocked up. We are battling with supply issues and wont have it available until next few months.
Hi, thank you for noticing. All of our hose fittings have clamps on each end of every line. The pipe clamps your thinking of is not what we use, the one's we are using are low profile clamps and they use a special tool to install.
Hi William, we are currently waiting on parts to be finished from our manufacture. Please shoot us an email to be on our waiting list. support@grenergy-us.com
Could I buy just the components that install on the generator itself rather than a whole conversion kit? I already have tank regulator, demand regulator and hoses that I use with another tri-fuel kit for a different generator. My demand regulator terminates in a 3/8 Quick Disconnect so I just need the Venturi, hose, gasket, clamp, mounting bracket, door panel.
Our kit is fully assembled and fuel settings dialed in here at our warehouse. Which allows the kit to run right out of the box upon install. Different lengths of hose or different brand demand regulator will throw off how the kit is adjusted and cause engine performance issues on your generator. We don’t have the man power and staff to diagnose and problem solve every DIY kit put together by the customer using their own parts. But you are more than welcome to purchase parts of the kit you mentioned for $200-250 dollars. The reason for this cost is due to overhead, engineering and patent costs, it is the set amount we need to make to cover our business expense.
Hi, we provide a user guide with measurements on how to exactly adjust the flow. The measurements we give you are already predetermined for best engine performance.
@@mark31383 Harbor Freight seem to have made three versions of the 3500, due to supply issues and manufacturing delays its been difficult getting anything done on time. We hope to have something in a month or so.
I can see that light switch getting busted off eventually. Should make it a flat recessed button similar to the red one. Very interested in this setup. Would prefer to use Nat Gas at home as I already have a quick disconnect line set up for it. I'd use propane specifically for road trips and gasoline probably never. It would be nice if Harbor Freight made a Nat Gas/Propane ONLY 3500 generator and with bigger wheels. Thanks for the demo. Hope you get the new kits in SOON. How will we know when??
Also - if this is in ANY way possible.... it would be really trick if this could be setup for Nat Gas and Propane at the SAME TIME. Maybe add a second fuel line disconnect specifically for Nat Gas. Then all you'd have to do is connect to the proper fuel line for whatever fuel you want to use. Eliminate the need to fumble around with removing the case and changing out the orifice each time. Or better yet, just have a single fuel line input and some sort of bypass valve to select what fuel you intend to use. That would be the freakin' cool.
Hi Dan, we wanted a low profile switch but a good quality switch that would be durable to last several lifetimes of use is hard to find. The red switch doesn't have an internal latch for the on/off. It's just a momentary switch which allows it to be low profile. But if you do break it by accident, I can provide a replacement.
@@danreynolds8028 We have thought about that but a proper 3 way valve would be needed to do it properly. Unfortuanly that really adds to the cost of the kit.

great kit! going to earmark this for a future purchase
Please do!
How does it know to vary the amount of propane being sucked in based on the load?
Hi Mark. That’s the job of the demand regulator, it does exactly what you’ve just asked. To learn more about this just google “demand regulator”.
The kit looks great! Good job, love the attention to detail!
Thanks! We put a lot of effort in all our kits.

What kinda time are you getting per tank though??
Roughly 15-18 hours at 25% load
@@GrenergyTriFuelhow much $ do you figure?
What is the fuel consumption on propane compared to gasoline? Hours of run time on a standard 20lb BBQ tank?
At 25% load you’ll see between 18-24 hours of run time.
Is there no shutoff for the propane in the event that you want or need to run gasoline? I like the access panel. Nice job. Also like that there are no holes cut in the unit anywhere.
Hi Jack. You will need to shut off the propane at the propane tank. After this is done you can then run gasoline as normal.
When generator not running what prevents the propane gas from not back flowing through the air filter?
That's the job of the demand regulator, is the big flat silver looking thing on the kit. Please google "demand regulator" to understand how it works.

Hello, yes we do ship worldwide. Just add product to cart to get the estimated shipping.
Will this kit work on the new version of the 3500?
Hi, yes and we are currently working on a Tri-fuel kit with custom brackets.
What's your site where I can order.

Hi William, the kit is now available for version 1 of the Predator 3500. Please visit us at grenergy-us.com!
Is this a complete change over to propane/natural gas, or dual fuel allowing the use of gasoline when propane is not available?
This is a tri-fuel kit. You can use all three fuels including gasoline. Hop on to our website, they are now available for sale.
